Soup Du Jour is a great place for lunch fare: soups, small salads and small sandwiches, and a casserole of the day. I have been here 6 times. Good quality food each time. Perhaps the best deal is a bowl of Yesterday’s Soup for $ 1.00. It’s only available until it is gone, but wow, that is perfect. Today’s soup is $ 3.50 with $ 1.50 refills, and every soup I have had there has been worth having again. Worried you won’t like a particular soup? No problem. Samples of the soup are available. Sandwiches are simple and tasty. The casseroles always smell and look good, though I’ve not tried them yet. I always get out of there for under $ 8 and sometimes under $ 5. The interior of Soup Du Jour is attractively appointed with comfortable seating. I always feel like I am on a mini-retreat somewhere away from Jackson. They project a classic black and white movie on the wall if you are interested in watching. On sheer value, proximity to downtown, tasty soups, and atmosphere, they had me sold. I am pleased as punch that they are there. Get yourself there quick. It is a great addition to the Jackson area.
