My sweet grandson was born here and they were wonderful! What a great hospital. The nurses were attentive and kind and so inclusive of all the family members. The rooms were gorgeous with plenty of chairs and seating for family members and they were really as hands off as they could be with my son and his girlfriend and them having their baby. The cafeteria, while expensive, was really great. Hot foods, sandwiches, cold drinks, fruit, breakfast food. They had everything. There is also lots of food places very close if you don’t want to eat there. Parking is plentiful, we always found a spot right near the hospital(and this place is big). Our whole family loved this place. I’m thrilled that this is where they had their baby!

My aunt was at this hospital once and was treated well. The layout is pretty plain and looks like every other hospital. The rooms aren’t very spacious, but the beds are soft.

I’ve not had any previous, or long-term experiences with St. Dominic’s, but when my fiancé went to the ER today for a minor accident — I did notice a few things. First, they have an Express ER. I don’t know all of the details on what constitutes being able to just go to the Express ER — but I’m glad they have it. Second, when I was traipsing around the regular ER trying to find my fiancé — the nurses at the nurse’s station were incredibly friendly and helpful. And every doctor or nurse that walked by me smiled or said hello. Over in the Express ER, once again everyone was very friendly and we had great care from the doctor on staff. He listened and tried to get us out of there as fast as possible. Great experience!

This is thee best hospital to give birth. Dr. Kay Midler delivered my baby and she’s great as well as the nurses. I ended up staying 5 days due to high blood pressure but everyone made sure that I was well taken care of as well as my baby. I highly recommend St Dominic especially over umc or cmmc. They actually care. Update! I just gave birth to my second child 12−15−15. Either I came at a bad time or St Dominic has truly fallen off within the past 3 years since my first born. My first complaint is that when I came in that morning with a ruptured sack, it took over 10 minutes for them to take me to a labor room. The transporter had no idea what floor labor and delivery was. I understand that she was new but u do not assign a new worker to anything dealing with an emergency. My next complaint is that once I gave birth to my child they immediately put her on the heated bed to check her out which was fine but with all that being done the midwife nurse was about to wisk her away without me getting a chance to hold or even know what my baby looked like. With my first child, we had skin to skin contact and every test including the bath was done inside of the room. Thank god my room nurse told her to let me hold my child before they take her to the nursery. To make matters worse they kept my baby over 5 hours with no update. I kept asking around trying to figure out what was going on. I was later told that they needed to get her temp regulated which would’ve been fine if I was being properly updAted. Later that day I was told that they are going to have to transport me from labor and delivery early because they were over crowded. After being in the new room for a day my mother noticed that there was a sign on the door stating that I was in a contagious air pressured room and to keep the door closed. She questioned a nurse who informed her that they normally keep contagious people in that particular room. U can only imagine how I felt Wtf. I was worried for me and my child’s safety as well as embarrassed for any visitors to come by. I didn’t get a complementary diaper bag after asking the nurse repeatedly. I should not have had to Ask for that. I did not get my child’s foot print certificate. I had none of these problems my first time at St Dominic. I really wish I had chosen another place to have my child.

We’ve had two really good experiences here, and one not so good experience here. Most of the doctors and nurses were great. We had good experiences on Floors 2, 3, and 4. Bad experience on Floor 6. Would recommend this hospitals over the others in the same area.

If something is life-threatening, there is no other hospital in Jackson I would trust. Without going into detail, I will just say the doctors and staff here have literally saved the lives of 2 of my immediate family members. The ICU department is top-notch. The nurses in the unit are amazing. The waiting area for surgery is great. I was impressed with how they kept us informed of everything that was going on while we waited. Sometimes the wait in the ER can be excruciatingly long and other times there is little or no wait. Every staff member I have come into contact with in the ER has been wonderful — the doctors, nurses, x-ray techs, phelbotomists, et al … Great… Just great! All so warm, caring, and friendly. I cannot recommend this hospital enough!
