I signed a contract to have 1376 Square Feet of Tile and Grout installed at my home in which I supply all materials and Bennett’s Flooring agrees to install the Tile and Grout in a professional manner. Bennett’s Flooring contract states«Bennetts Flooring shall provide its services and meet its obligations under this Contract in a timely and workmanlike manner, using knowledge and recommendations for performing the services which meet generally acceptable standards in Bennetts Flooring’s community and region, and will provide a standard of care equal to, or superior to, care used by service providers similar to Bennetts Flooring on similar projects.» The Tile is Fine. The Grout looks like a Calico Cat. It is about 5 different colors all over the house and many Grout lines do not have enough Grout in them. We called Bennett’s Flooring the day after the install was completed to notify them of the problem. They came out to the House 2 times and agreed that the Grout turned out incorrectly and even tested a tool for Grout removal to see if it would work. The tool did work but they only removed 20 to 40 inches of grout. They wanted the Manufacturer to look at the Grout. I reluctantly agreed as I had been trying to be cooperative. Bennett’s last contact with me was via Text message and they advised me that my problem was with the supplier of the Grout and they were not responsible and have walked away from the job and I have not heard from them since. Where is the«standard of care equal to, or superior to, care used by service providers similar to Bennetts Flooring on similar projects.» No other Tile Company that I have spoken with or that has been to my house says that they would have just walked away. I have talked with the Manufacturer of the Grout and the Admix and they say that it is installer error and they will do nothing. I have talked to the Supplier who sold the Grout and Admix and they say the same thing as the Manufacturer. I am unable to talk with Bennett’s Flooring as they stopped responding to me after the last text message. I am currently disputing the charges with my Credit Card Company. If that doesn’t work then I will be forced to go to Court. I do not recommend using Bennett’s THL Flooring. Update: We have given up with the Credit Card Company. Procedures to go to court have been started. I expect we will win based on Florida Statutes. Update 7÷25÷14: We had sent the required letter to Bennett’s Flooring advising them they had 30 days to correct the defective grout. We received their written response on day 30 and they stated they would like to fix the defect. They removed the grout over about a 4 week period working just 2 weekends. I had them re grout with Bostik Neverseal as it is pre mixed and sealed for life. The Bostik Neverseal turned out great. They chipped tiles in every room. We did not have the tiles replaced as we just want this company out of our house. They didn’t clean up the grout haze the first time or the second time. We had to purchase Blaze tile cleaner made by Bostik to get the grout and the haze off of the tiles. The Blaze worked great combined with a green scrub pad. We finally can start putting our home back together. We went through 4 air conditioning filters from all the grout dust being sucked in to the intake vents as Bennett’s Flooring never tried to put up plastic sheeting to protect themselves and us from all the grout dust. We put up our own pladtic sheeting the second weekend to try and prevent the dust from getting in to the half of the house that was already completed. They also used my shop vac as they did not have one that worked. Bennett’s Flooring was completely unprofessional. I am glad this ordeal is over. I do not recommend Bennett’s Flooring.
