I’m quite surprised by the 4+ star average here. I had an idea from the photos that the quality of food was going to be generic but due to the rating and proximity to my job decided to try them anyway. I ordered a mushroom mozzarella burger combo by phone and arrived 10 minutes later to pick it up. The place was clean and the staff polite but that’s really about all I have to say for positives. My burger had zero flavor. I mean zero. No salt or seasoning to be found outside of the ketchup, mayo mustard it was slathered in. The mushrooms were rubbery and I am sure from a can. Then there was the huge bag of soggy fries. I had 2 fries, ate half the meat off my burger and tossed everything else in the trash. $ 8.50 wasted. The prices for individual items are ok and the combos are not a terrible deal aside from the food quality but if you add a drink and side to a wrap or regular sandwich you are quickly into the $ 10-$ 12 range for some very generic, processed food. On that note, if you don’t mind processed food and want a lot they do have generous portions. I will not be returning.

Great locally owned restaurant. I routinely go on Friday for their cheeseburger special. It never disappoints. I enjoy the atmosphere and owners.

I was sent to Jacksonville for work purposes and this spot was located down the street from my job. This is a nice little hole in the wall but don’t let that fool you. their food is amazing. I had to be sure on my last day that I stop by here to tell them all I am going back to California and was going to miss them and their stablishment. The owner shook my hand and was just the nicest! Great place to eat

It isn’t flashy. It’s in a drab brick office park/strip mall. The tables are plain. There’s some flair on the walls, and that’s about it. However, the smiling staff makes up for any lack of design. I’d never been before, and the menu is pretty large, so it took me a few to pick out something(Sometimes I’m one of those people, ugh). They were helpful and patient. I got the cheeseburger, all the way, with fries. Probably Top 5 for best fries, and an average burger. Everything was well made, and the place was very clean. It’s a very comfortable environment. People in suits sitting next to people in tie-dye shirts(not even kidding). Anyone is welcome.

Wonderful bunch of people behind the counter. Nice friendly family atmosphere. We had the cheeseburger special and it was totally homemade in appearance and taste. Good job!

I ordered the tri-salad(tuna, chicken, and egg) and everything taste the same. The croutons were extremely oily and it wasn’t at all what I thought it would be. It was two people in the restaurant and I got there about 10:30a-10:45a, they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30. I just felt like its no one in here crack an egg put it on the grill, HAPPYCUSTOMER. But rules are rules and I got that awful salad. I may be missing something so I’ll send my husband to try this place out again.

Their salad and ranch dressing was very tasty! They reminded me of a restaurant that I used to like back in the mid 2000’s called Joker’s Alley. I feel they’re related somehow. The portions arent as big as I remember but I’m not surprised.

GREAT breakfast and lunch spot! I’ve been going here for years and the cheesesteak is the best! Always served with more than you can eat fries. Diner atmosphere and it gets pretty busy between 11:30 and 1:00. Online ordering available. Must try!

I walked in an felt immediately comfortable. The owner is so friendly and the place is really clean. I mentioned that we found them on Unilocal and he had no idea what it was. We need to convert this dude. Me and my wife got the two egg breakfast bowl and it was solid. I decided to mix things up a bit and got grits instead of home fries. The grits weren’t bad, but they just really aren’t my thing. The eggs were nicely cooked and the sausage I got was fine. No real issues. The only difference between my bowl and hers was hers had bacon which smelled really good. I’m totally going back to this place again. The prices were good, we got out of there for $ 9 and some change.

Everything here is always outstanding. My favorite items; Hummus wrap — TODIEFOR, Greek Salad wrap– also amazing but even better when dipped in ranch! I recently had their special of the day which was a falafel burger & I wish I could have another one right now it was by far one of the freshest falafels i’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong here. Oh! Another favorite is the egg salad! Get it loaded with everything you’d be amazing how well the flavors compliment each other, no dressing needed it’s delicious!

Get the crazy chicken salad… it’s amazing. Also the home made ranch… I wish they sold it by itself. They are so friendly in here too! I love the variety of the menu… I’ve never had anything from here that was not delicious. :-)

I have been going to Chow Down Alley for about 15 years, they have always done a terrific job. They get the order right everytime. I also use them to cater breakfast and lunches for my office, Freddie does a Great Job with the presentation. If you have never eaten there, I highly recommend it!

This is what Panera wishes it was. Friendly, family service. Very, very quick preparation of food, even during the busiest of times, and very fresh ingredients. A rather extensive menu allows for great variety. The dining room is immaculate and from what one can see of the kitchen and service area, the hidden sections are quite clean as well. For travelers coming up or down 95, this is a perfect place to stop and get away from the chain restaurants on Old St. Augustine Rd.

Nice little divey joint! The front desk clerk at our hotel recommended this place. Inexpensive breakfast plates… Nice portions… Tasted good. I had a bacon and cheese omelet, with grits, and rye toast… For about $ 5 bucks. My wife and I ate pretty much the same things, with coffee… It was about $ 12 dollars total. Can’t beat it. The sandwich menu looks impressive, and reasonable. Will most likely be back tomorrow morning.

I like just about everything about this place. Great food and friendly service. It is within walking distance from my house. Clearly owned by people who care about community. I recommend a burger for your first lunch. =)
