I always enjoy the food I order here. They have a solid menu that is perfected, plus a wide array of specials that are out of this world if you’re looking to get out of your comfort zone. Everyone raves over the coffee here(although I don’t drink coffee I tried it), it really is pleasant. This is a place I would take relatives that are visiting because I know they wouldn’t be disappointed. Keep it up cool moose, you’ll always be my go to for brunch in the area!

The service was excellent. The waffle was to die for. But the eggs Benedict was the bomb all

This is a happening place with lots of character and charm. Right off the bat I must compliment the service, which in my opinion is just as, if not more important than how a meal tasted. It certainly does not hurt and may enhance the flavor of a meal when you are welcomed by smiling faces that are eager to make your dining experience great! I was fortunate to experience both, a fine meal and great service. I had the build your own omlet with grits and wheat toast, but there were other tasty menu items that are far more exciting than my plain olé omlet. I will mention because it is worth it, that the coffee was superb. I’m not a coffee snob, but I do appreciate a nice coffee. I had the southern pecan coffee but they had another(blueberry) that other visitors have written about. The coffee is self serve as with other restaurants in the area, but that’s part of the charm of this location, to make their customers feel at home. Two thumbs up!

A long wait for mediocre food. Was not impressed. Omlette was bland, waffle was tough.

My first visit here for breakfast wasn’t very impressive and I didn’t get what the big rave was about it. I got the portobello cap, and it was defiantly something I could have made better at home. This was disappointing because I always try to choose items that aren’t the easiest to make at home while dining out. However, I recently gave Cool Moose a second shot when an out of town friend wanted to go for breakfast. …Much more pleased this time! There was a line, but it moves fairly fast. They have bottomless mimosas and endless self serve coffee.(Might be a weekend only thing). I ordered a latte, which I probably wouldn’t again. If you want caffeine I’d probably stick with the coffee as I don’t think espresso is their thing. I ordered one of the specials, the Mexican Benedict. I was impressed that Cool Moose asks how you’d like your pouched eggs presided(soft, medium, hard), and they actually come out exactly as ordered! They are also very accommodating with substitution requests(I asked for plantains instead of the biscuit). Overall, I’d give it another shot, it’s a fun spot!

Go to breakfast place. Staff is friendly and quick. Food is excellent, for some reason the hemming way Benedict was a favorite but they have gotten way to light on th e salmon and add more hollandaise sauce still a favorite.

No need for anything long. This place hands down is just Dawg on good. I can say it was my first visit, however inexpensive and cook to order without the forever wait. In my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice” I’ll be back”

Although the three stars, I just want to state out front that I really did like the concept and the atmosphere here. Due to the execution of the food and the hustle and bustle of the Saturday brunch crowd determines my rating. Weekend brunch obviously draws huge crowds. They told us it’d be a 20 minute wait and it was. We ended up grabbing two seats at the counter, so we had a front row seat to all the action. Different waitresses took our food and drink orders. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. But throughout the mayhem, it’s worth noting that they remained friendly and kind. I ordered the Hemingway. An eggs benedict dish served with roasted potatoes. And although the price was right, the flavor was more meh than anything else. The portion size was small. The presentation was skimpy. It needed to be spruced up. It’s something I could’ve made at home. My opinion would be this is the type of place that would be ideal during a midweek afternoon. A café with great coffee options, bar seating and ample room for hiding out indoors. I’d return to Cool Moose, just not for brunch specifically.

The best thing about this place is the staff. They greet you with a smile, and are attentive throughout the entire time, without being overbearing. I had a veggie burger with sweet potato fries, and it couldn’t have been any better. I had only two requests, leave the sauce off the burger and no sugar on the fries, and they didn’t forget(which can’t be said for every place.) The coffee is delicious! I’m not a fan of the McDonald’s or Dunkin Doughnuts style coffee. I like my coffee with some flavor! I don’t put anything into it, so it’s important for it to be full of flavor without any additives. Cool Moose doesn’t disappoint!

This place has been my go-to breakfast joint for yearsss so I must admit I am slightly biased. I used to hit up this joint almost everyday after I got off from the bakery up the road and with an endless coffee bar it never failed to pick me up from my 4am shift. My personal favorite item is the spinach and feta omelet paired with home fries(no, not the frozen crap) and wheat toast. However, I occasionally splurge and order the french toast special or the veggie burger for lunch! Both are scrumptious. Along with this delicious breakfast you also have access to their infamous coffee bar! They sport a variety of flavors from sweetwater organic coffee such as Vermont blend, french roast, vanilla nut, and my ultimate favorite — the blueberry blend. Keep in mind, service can be a little slow here(especially on the weekends) but the staff is always super nice. Some other tasty items include: –Veggie burger and sweet potato fries –Breakfast sandwich on a croissant –Multi-grain pancakes with fresh strawberries(usually a weekend special) I will always be a loyal customer to Cool Moose for they continue to stay true to their motto: Amazing food, wonderful coffee, great people. Keep up the good work!

Love me some cool moose! The atmosphere and the service are fantastic and the food is even better! Their sweet potato fries are divine, and everything I have ordered here has been fabulous. The best part is the self serve coffee station because you never have to wait for a refill!

Ordered to go on a time when I couldn’t stay and eat. I ordered a chai latte and a spinach salad with chicken. The servers were nice and prompt. They brought me my food to go in a matter of minutes. The chai latte was great the server even added whip cream to it !(that made me extra happy). The half salad was okay but it’s the reason I gave 4 not 5 stars to my to go order. My spinach salad seemed all fresh quality. However the majority of my salad was red opinions in long pieces. I realize the salad ingredients did contain red onion but I did not want this many to the point that my car reeked of onions and all I wanted to do was throw it away due to such a strong odor. I’m not sure what went wrong but I do believe my salad had more onions then leaves or walnuts. Not sure if I’ll order this again or maybe I’ll specify low on the onions . Overall I will probably go back because it’s a sweet place and the service and quality are great.

My husband and I are always on the prowl for a new breakfast joint. Found the cool moose on Unilocal and figured we would give it a shot. We drove by and decided to give it a shot. We went for my birthday. We loved the coffee bar. Very convenient. I had corned beef hash and it was the best I’ve found in Jacksonville! My husband had biscuits and friend chicken. He said is was very tasty. The staff was super friendly and brought me over some birthday treats. We were so full, so I brought them home. They were very delicious. They were cinnamon roll puff pastry with fresh frosting. OMG delicious.

What a hip spot for breakfast! The Riverside area seems to always impress me with their restaurants and Cool Moose was no exception. This isn’t a large restaurant, but we only had to wait for about 10 minutes on a Sunday morning. The coffee is self serve and I must say that enjoying a cup of blueberry coffee(yes, blueberry) was an excellent way to spend my wait. Upon being seated we were excited to see that there was a 2 for 1 bloody mary and mimosa special. In the end the deal came out to $ 4 for either 2 mimosas or 2 bloody mary’s. GREATBARGAIN! The service was very good and our waitres was quite attentive although she had quite a few tables. Everyone enjoyed their food. I got the hash and it was a really nice blend of fall flavors including butternut squash, brussel sprouts, and carnitas. I obviously enjoyed my breakfast at Cool Moose and hope to be back to try some more of the menu(or perhaps lunch) in the future!

I wanted to try this place for a while. It was OK. Nothing spectacular but good. They ran out of home fries which was disappointing. I tried the Farmers Market and Brie Omelette with side of bacon. The omelette was full of vegetables but just a little bland. Better with hot sauce. The bacon was overcooked even for me. Long time to get food as well.

I love this place! It’s a great breakfast/brunch spot in Riverside. Cool casual atmosphere, delicious food. I’ve come here a couple of times and never had a bad meal. Definitely recommend ordering mimosas for brunch, they’re refreshing and delicious! Always check out the specials menu, there are some great things on there! The staff and service are fantastic!

I always forget about Cool Moose when thinking about breakfast/brunch options on the weekend, so I am so glad that my friend selected it as out meet up place this past weekend b/c it had been far too long since my last visit. On this particular outing I had the Farmer’s Market & Brie Omelette and it was DELICIOUS! I subbed out the tomatoes for Andouille Sausage and it really took it to the next level. I will definitely be back soon! Oh and the mimosas were $ 4 and 2−4−1 :)

If your looking for a unique and cozy café this is the place to be. It has a great eclectic look and that New England touch. Other than how adorable the cool moose café appears, it’s the full package. Their breakfast food is great, their service is great, and each item on the menu is creative in it’s own… which made deciding very difficult! But one great attribute to this gem of a café is the coffee bar! All you can drink, and with flavors varying from French roast to wild mountain blueberry. I found this place online and naturally it found it’s way to the top of my «must eat at» list. My boyfriend and I drove about 40 minutes just to have our Sunday brunch here, and it didn’t fail to meet our expectations! I got the Portobello Breakfast and he ordered the Colombian Omelette. Then, of course, we couldn’t resist trying the multigrain strawberry and white chocolate chip pancakes! If you like mushrooms then you’ll love the portobello breakfast. It was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. My boyfriend said the Colombian omelette was great, a hearty omelette filled with juicy carnitas and veggies. Last but not least, the pancakes… They were worth every calorie and carb.
