This truck was parked in front of Academy Sports on the corner of Kernan and Atlantic. I ordered«loaded Cuban fries,» lechon asado, tostones, and maduros. Everything was excellent. The pork was savory and well-seasoned. The beans were tender and flavorful. The tostones were thick and fresh. But the star of the show was the delicious cilantro garlic sauce they serve with the food. It is amazing! It was drizzled all over the fries, and it complimented the flavor of the meat perfectly. This is some of the best Caribbean food I’ve had in Jax. I started following this truck on Facebook so I can find out where they park.

I was excited to see a Cuban truck. There aren’t many Cuban restaurants in Jax and I’ve been craving some good Cuban food. I went for my favorite Cuban sandwich, the Pan Con Lechon. The lady who took my order was friendly. The wait time was as expected. The truck was decked out in holiday cheer :) I took my food home since I just left the gym and didn’t want my food to get cold upon opening the box on this chilly and windy day — no, I lie, I was freezing and wanted to get my butt inside… this Florida girl ain’t having this cold weather! LOL The food smelled sooooo good!!! I was hoping it would taste just as good as it smelled!!! Well, I have to say it was a tasty sandwich — the LECHON was DEEE-LICIOUS!!! However, there are a few things that could’ve made this sandwich better: — You need to have real Cuban bread! It was like a loaf of sandwich bread you get from the grocery store. It didn’t have that toasted crust on the outside. It was just soft and parts of the bread got soggy fast from the juices from the pork. — The green sauce that came on the side was, well, not a nice compliment, IMO. Good thing I was home so I can whip up a quick condiment to the Lechon. IMO, a vinegar-based condiment always works best with lechon. Filipinos(meeee!!!) and the Cuban restaurants I’ve been to have served it this way. In summary, I’ll definitely go back for the lechon because I think they do that pork justice better than some of the restaurants in town. I’ll definitely try some of their other items like the bistec, which my hubby tried and liked last time. I’ll defer on the bread until they change their recipe. And definitely no more of that green cilantro-y sauce. Happy eating!

Really good food. I tried the pan con bisteck, tostones with lechon and the cuban sandwich. No words to describe how good it was.

Ordered loaded fries and a Cubano. Loaded fries were weak, except for the great tasting pork. The Cubano was a complete joke. Walmart ham killed the entire sandwich. Not worth $ 16.00 for a sandwich and fries.

This was by far the best Cuban sub I have had in s long time! Hot pickles were fresh bread pressed just right and was full of meat! My father love the empanadas but try the Cuban!

I am a huge fan of Hispanic food and this truck did not disappoint! They have the basics: lechon(roast pork), rice, beans, empanadas, tostones, Cuban sandwich, picadillo and a few other things. I got the Cuban and the tostones… the Cuban was huge! The bread was pressed perfect crispy on the outside and stuffed with lechon, thick slices ham, Swiss, pickles… delish! The tostones were fried great, I like when they sprinkle salt on them while still hot so the salt sticks to them, they were served with a green aioli(?) and was very tasty. Also got the flan, it was served in a small slice and I was kinda like dang that’s small! But when I tried it!!! Holy yum! So creamy, rich, eggy, custardy, caramel just delicious! One of the best flans I have ever had! These trucks are making some quality food! :)

Pretty darn good! The prices are pretty typical for a food truck, but the Palomilla was out of this world! I ordered it expecting Walmart meat, some onions and garlic, and a can of black beans – I was totally wrong! What I received was a steak(thin for ease of cooking in a food truck), onions and garlic perfectly grilled, plantains that were just right, and black beans and rice that were not just ‘tossed on the plate.’ Everything worked perfectly – enough that I was surprised it came out of a food truck from Jacksonville! :) I can’t wait to run into these guys again for Round 2!

We tried the Cuban Fire Grill food truck at the Community First Natural Life Music Fest. Out of all the food trucks attending, this was the one that caught our eye. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, a pork sandwich, and an empanada. The empanada was cooked perfectly, fried to a perfect crisp but not greasy, with a very tasty ground meat filling. The pork sandwich(sorry I cannot recall the name) was really delicious with a great creamy green dipping sauce. But the Cuban sandwich? Absolute perfection, perfectly spot on with the flavors, the amount of filling and just the right crispness to the pressed bread. I highly recommend this food truck to anyone who loves a good Cuban sandwich.

I decided to give this food truck a try while at Jaxson’s Night Market. Mind you, there were 4 other amazing trucks I could have chosen to eat from but I was craving some Cubano cuisine and I wanted to give Cuban Fire a try. While the Cuban sandwich was very good and authentic, the tostones had me very upset. The cost of the tostones was $ 3 which I figured would match the quality/quantity until they handed them to me. The basket had 2 tostones inside of it with a small side of garlic cilantro sauce. I eat tostones often and have bought them from several other Cuban businesses as well as food trucks and never have I only received 2 for $ 3. Not to mention the tostones at Cuban Fire appeared to be frozen not fresh, they were very oily. This is unacceptable to me and I will not be returning to this truck.

YES, YES, YES. I almost missed out on this truck at the Food Wars event. A group of us were all taking turns and sharing, sampling from each truck… and a friend that came a little later ordered a bit from Cuban Fire Grill, and offer up a bite… It was so incredibly hard not to snarf down my friends meal. I was seriously addicted after one bite of the pulled pork. I was stuffed to the gills by that point, but made it a point to at least bring some of the Cuban goodness home with me. I’m SO glad I did. I ordered the Lechon Asado entrée(pulled pork) that came with tostones and black beans and rice, and when we got home, I snuggled up on the couch with my dinner. OMG. OMG. OMG. The pork is seriously bursting with flavor… and was some of the best pulled pork I’ve ever experienced. The black beans and rice were good on their own(I typically like em a little more spicy) BUT, the magic happens when you mix the pork, beans and rice and bits of the tostones all together… with the bits of raw onion topping it off, it’s pure heaven. It was so good, I’m kind of dumbfounded on ways to describe it. and to let you know, IT’S THATFREAKINGOOD. It’s so good, even though I couldn’t finish the entire portion that night, I dreamt about it that night and woke up excited to heat it up for breakfast. Yup, pulled pork and beans and rice at 8:30 am in the morning. Hell, I’m still thinking about it. I will be stalking this truck and the next available opportunity to hit them up, I’d drive all the way across town to experience this flavor explosion again. FIVEHUGESTARS and HIGHLY recommend you check them out.

I have heard about this truck but never have I eaten from it. I can not say that now. The truck normally hides in clay county they told me and I’m not in clay county much so they came to Jaxson Nights and I ate their food. I would say that it is pretty. I ordered the Pan con lochon shredded beef but I got the Havana Shredded beef instead. It had some plantains that I was told were very yummy. I did like the black beans and white rice thou. Now the beef had a really good flavor and I liked the Cuban spice blends a lot. In all a good first go but I will be by this truck again.
