Buyer beware. They are as David K said, masters of the upsell. I needed to get my ’99 Camry roadworthy for a long road trip to VA. Coming off deployment I know my car needed a lot work since I had not done much with it in a year or two. My service with brakes, rotors, calibers, alignment, and rotation and balance, oil change, wipers came close to $ 1200. That was not the big issue. I drove over 600 miles with a car that pulled hard to the right(imagine a drunk passing out while holding the wheel) if I did not hold tight. It vibrated so hard it it felt like the wheel lugs were loose. Finally, the front left brake sounded like it wasn’t leaving the rotor(constant grinding sound). Unable to locate a corporate-owned store within 50 miles the Warranty department sent me to an «authorized» garage, who charged me $ 100 to inspect the issues, perform another rotation and balance. They could not replicate the issues. Needless to say, it was an expensive lesson. After 15 years of patronage to Goodyear in TX I am done.

PLEASETAKEYOURBUSINESSELSEWHERE. I had a more trusted mechanic look at what they did after they«fixed» my car. Not only did the car break down literally 5 minutes after I drove it off their lot, but I realized the steering wheel was crooked because they did not align my wheels properly, they charged me on things they claimed they did like a battery protectant which they did not actually apply, they broke my drain plug during the oil change where not only did they not screw it back in but for some reason they GLUED it so it fell out a week later and the oil spilled out on my driveway,(the oil change which they quote«threw in for free» because of how expensive the other repairs were), and oh yeah one more time they DIDN’T FIXANYTHING because like I mentioned I BROKEDOWN5MINUTESAFTER I DROVEOFFTHELOT. Greedy, lying, cheating, two-faced, incompetent, and dishonest are just a few words that describe the manager Jeff and his mechanics. If you want to save your money, your car, and your sanity, do yourself a favor and take your to car to any other shop in Jacksonville because it’ll never be as criminal as the Goodyear on North Clay Street.

Friendly enough, but these folks have been trained in the art of relentless upsell. Go in for an oil change and you’ll be told you need several hundred dollars worth of other work. This happens EVERY time. If you have no mechanical background, you’re kind of at their mercy. Trust me: When they say you need a bunch of other repairs, say thanks and tell them you’ll definitely get a second opinion. Also, there are enough non-chain shops around Jax that you should try one of them first anyway.
