My family rented a unit for the holidays in Park City, Utah through Inet. When we got there the unit was filthy.. I mean very very dirty– rat droppings, cob webs, and thick dust everywhere. Dust on the window sills was so thick it was hard to believe. Towel racks are broken. All the closets were filled with clutter. Walls are cracked and filthy. I called the rental agent the next day and he acknowledged that this was the case. He told me a long term tenant was living here and they did not have time to clean it properly. However, he did not send anyone to clean. The next day I spent all day cleaning the unit. After cleaning I went to get into the jacuzzi which was frozen solid! Again I called the rental agent again and he had a woman call me that said without even looking that nothing could be done. I decided to take a jacuzzi bath in the master bathroom since the jacuzzi was not working but when I turned on the water filthy smelly brown residue filled the tub. Again I called the agent. This time he did not even call me back. And no plumber was sent. This was likely a health issue. Each morning I woke up I have to clean rat droppings off the kitchen counters. I found rat traps and a receipt dating a month earlier showing purchase of rat catching items in the cabinet. Clearly the owner had prior knowledge of the mice problem. The inside storage areas of the cabinets were gross– sticky and very dirty. Again the rental agent sent no one to help even though this was a health issue. The dishwasher did not work properly. Water came from the back of the cabinet and ran on to the floor. I had o wash the dishes by hand. Again, no plumber was sent. I have rented condos for over 20 years and never had this experience. I have also NEVER complained about anything through the years. However, this situation was intolerable The most hurtful of all of this was the rental agent’s total lack of concern. Throughout all this I received only rudeness. He promised the owner and the current long term tenant would calm to help sort it out, I never heard from them. He never came to see what could be done, did not send help, and in many incidents did not even return my calls. My cell phone records will bear proof of that. I am highly allergic to dust and was sick much of the week. He sent no cleaners and did not come check to see what could be done. I did receive 50% return of my funds. However, the condo costs $ 890 each night! Most reputable companies would have sent cleaners, plumbers, and likely reimbursed fully. Still others would have done whatever it took to relocate us. The rental agent did none of these. To this day I never received an apology. I took many pictures that are GPS and time stamped. I stamped these because it would be hard to believe a unit costing this much could be this bad. Beware!
