Great place. Tino is top notch. Great cuts and shave. Well worth the price. Best to call in and schedule an appointment a few days in advance. In addition, great products in the retail store next door.

First big tip: Bring your big boy wallet with you! This place is PRICEY! The shave products are top notch. They use really good ingredients, and they work well. I purchased a «sampler» kit of pre-​shave oil, shave cream, after shave lotion, and a shave brush. I chose the lemon scent. The staff there is very helpful and friendly. If I had a gripe, it would be that the razors they are selling are Gillette products you can get in Publix or Walgreens. Seemed odd for an upscale establishment.
There are a few other good options for shave products online that are considerably less expensive, and work as well as the Art Of Shaving products do. Try

I also got a haircut at the barber on site… it was a $ 40 haircut. The cut was good. But it wasn’t a memorable experience. Not sure it was worth the $$$. But that’s just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Tino the barber here knows how to cut hair. His cuts are the best I have had in jax. It’s worth it Give him a try once. You will come back.

With the dawning of the spring like weather here in Jacksonville, I felt it was time to ditch my recently adopted hirsute look in favor of my more familiar clean shaven mug. I booked an appointment for a haircut and regular shave and upon arrival I was put into the capable hands of master barber Tino.
If you have never had a shave & haircut from a master barber, your experience will open your eyes to the huge difference it can be. Tino’s attention to detail surpassed that of nearly every salon or shop I have ever patronized. I’m not sure why I expected his haircut to be shorter and more perfunctory, but his meticulousness was evident in the time spent. He made sure that i was comfortable with the paths that his shears took, so that the final look would be all that I expected.
As soon as my ‘do was revitalized, Tino turned his focus to my coarse, shaggy beard. He applied a soothing pre-​shave gel and the first of a series of hot towels, thus breaking down my fibrous stubbornness. The last time I felt so pampered was when I indulged myself with a facial at the Amelia Island Ritz-​Carlton on my honeymoon a few years ago, yet somehow this surpassed even that.
There is an understandable level of angst when being shaven with a straight razor, but Tino’s technique put me quickly at ease. He never pressed too firmly, or stroked too quickly, making multiple passes over my skin with several lubricating rounds of hot foam. Toward the end of shaving, he asked if I wished to upgrade to the Royal Shave. I was under such a hypnotically relaxing spell, wanting to prolong this supplication, that I was powerless to resist. The additional after-​shave mask and toner helped assure that my usually sensitive skin would not suffer, Tino’s deftly gentle touch notwithstanding.
After pouring myself out of the chair, I picked up a new set of shaving product to help maintain my smooth, more youthful skin, and filed away the luxurious memory that I will allow myself the occasional pleasure of recreating when the beard returns again next fall.

Took my best friend here for a shave before his wedding. Tino was fantastic, professional and very friendly. Close shave and a wonderful experience. Something every man should experience at least once.

I wear a full beard and went in for a «beard trim». First, the barber has very little personality and it was obvious he had just come back from a smoke break. His hands and breath stunk. He took off way more length than I asked for and didn’t seem receptive to talking about any kind of styling. I asked him not to cut my mustache too short because I’m working on growing it out and he cut it short anyway. The shave treatment was nice but nothing spectacular. And at $ 35 (for beard trim and shave) I can get my regular barber to just as good of a job. Don’t see how this places lasts in Jax.

Something every man should experience. Tino (sp?) the barber on staff, was professional and courteous. The products are amazing, scented but not overwhelming. You leave with a super close shave and feeling refreshed. $ 35 for a traditional shave could get a bit expensive on a regular basis, but definitely worth it for an indulgent treat.

If half stars were allowed, this would definitely be at 3.5 — I’d even put it at 3.75. I’m not willing to give it 4 just yet, but after I try the product, you never know what could happen. Why would I — a female — be shopping at Art of Shaving? While they don’t cater to women (and are actually in the process of phasing out the little product they did offer) they do have women buy their lavender product line, so I’m thinking about giving it a try.
We found this place when we were visiting family in Chicago & my husband was very intrigued. We were excited when we found out they were opening a store in Jacksonville. We were skeptical at it’s lasting power — but like the sales guy said — people walking through the door said they were super exicited they didn’t have to order online anymore. So we’ll see what happens.
My husband bought the lemon starter kit last night (which comes with a $ 25 coupon towards the purchase of one of their kits, making the starter kit free). Of course he tried it all last night when we got home, especially since it had been a few days since he shaved. I’ll possibly be going back in the near future to try it out for myself or upgrade him to the full kit.
They will also have a full barber on site to provide haircuts & shaves as well. Great gift idea for that special man in your life as it’s a rare occaision to get a full shave from an upscale barber.
