Finally checked out this spot. Thought it was very good. Maybe a little pricey for the portion size but good nonetheless. During the week, they offer a lunch special. 3 topping personal pizza, soup or salad, a drink. I just wanted cheese but the guy behind the counter said, you sure, you get 3! So he talked me into extra cheese, bacon, and pepperoni Service as quick. The place is nicely decorated and much bigger than you’d expect.

I visited here last year right after the grand opening tapered off. Then I was less than impressed… generic crust, meat, sauce and topping. I said ‘I will never return’…but I went there today at 4:30 Friday(no other customers inside) and ordered the steak and blue cheese pizza. Burnt crust, what blue cheese? I swore that I saw her put it on the pizza. But like majic, it dissapeared in the oven. That’s it, I will never eat there again. But drats, my wife had one of their folded steak and cheese and loved it. I guess I’m going to have to get to go orders for her, but never again for me.

I have only been here twice and no longer live nearby but I was very pleased with both times I had been there. The toppings are fresh and cafeteria line style like at subway or Moe’s. The pizzas are fully customizable from the bottom up and they don’t skimp on the toppings you choose. They have a Coke freestyle machine which is amazing in any restaurant.(There are a million choices but I always get diet cherry dr. Pepper). My only«complaints» would be that it is cramped for space, if you haven’t been before the process is a bit confusing and when the sun is going down it is blinding you if you are facing the Windows toward Southside.

I don’t understand all the good reviews. This pizza is not good. It’s not horrible but it’s not good. I got the steak and blue. The steak was so dry it was pretty much inedible. I was concerned when we got there and I could see the toppings sitting there and they all looked like they’d been sitting out for quite some time. The dough is just ok. The pizza wasn’t good at all. I won’t be back.

New to Jacksonville, trying to find a go-to spot for pizza takeout. Greek salad was great! Super fresh, have gone back a couple times now and got them. Always good! Pizza was ok… Nothing totally amazing, but also not bad… we ordered takeout late at night, about 30 mins before they closed, so maybe it will be better next time!

We were excited to try this place out after reading all of the good reviews, but we weren’t impressed. The pizzas we tried were just okay, but nothing to rave about. The service was fine, but the tables we tried to sit at were greasy and dirty. We tried their signature pizzas Steak & Blue and The Big Max. On the Steak & Blue, the pizza and some of the toppings were burnt. The steak was also very dry. The Big Max was pretty generic, but it just tasted average similar to a pizza you’d buy from Walmart. We’ve had pizzas from The Loops next door that tasted better. But you know what they say about pizzas, «Pizzas are a lot like sex. Even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good.» Maybe we just came in on the wrong night. Maybe we’ll try this place again when we want to create our own pizza.

According to Unilocal Uncle M is .9 miles away from Embassy Suites. Don’t settle for hum drum Pizza Hut that you can get in anyplace USA. Try some place a little different. Two of us shared the steak and Blue Cheese pizza mainly because we were tired and our imaginations had signed out for today. Otherwise, we could have created a pizza not bought one off the menu. Cuz we were tired we took it back to the Embassy Suites. We got back to the hotel 5 minutes before their evening«Happy Hour» kicked off with free wine and beer. One of their red wines paired perfectly with our pizza. I wish we had a local pizza joint like this near us. It caters and you can buy a pizza, take it home and cook it later. Holy-moly, so many options. I am green with envy Jax. Oh, I forgot to mention the pizza. There was no red tomato sauce which is different but the pizza was excellent. Keep and open experimenting mentality, like we all think we have, and I think you’ll love the pizza. They sell beer, an important must for a pizza joint.

Terrible pizza they even have the nerve to tell you burnt is normal pizza. I went for take out and got home with two terrible pizzas took the pizzas back and the manager tells me that the way pizza is suppose to look.

Fast and fresh — simply put, that is how I would describe my 1st experience at Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint. I wouldn’t say that this experience was out of the ordinary, but I was greatly satisfied with my visit here. The ambiance is good, I do like the artwork that is hung up throughout the restaurant, and the area itself is nice and neat. The staff was nice — albeit a bit busy getting other orders ready for pickup, so it took a few extra minutes for me to order — and they were able to make my pie the way I ordered. As far as my food, I kept it simple — 9″ on traditional crust(extra crispy), tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms, and pineapple. My food was quick to come to my table and was quite tasty. I left feeling quite full, but not overly bloated, so that was good. Well worth the price I paid. Another plus was that the staff came by to check and make sure everything was good and whether I needed a to-go box(which I didn’t). I guess the only thing I wish I had done was notice the Maddio’s Meal Deal on the menu over to the left — could have saved a few bucks on a smaller pizza, but additional side salad or soup and drink — and still been significantly full, haha! I look forward to returning here soon! Good place, I’d recommend!

I previously gave them five stars but felt the need to lower since our visit yesterday. Things seemed a bit unorganized and not well executed. All of our pizzas came without salads we ordered. I realized I was never asked about dressing and was given ranch also. Although we were there at lunch we took the last wheat crust so there weren’t any for other members of our party.

This is a very hard sell. Great location — so great that The Loop got here first. I think every pizza’s downfall is calling it self«New York Pizza» — they are rarely done well outside of New York. Then there’s the chili — I thankfully tried it on the day that snow(flurries) settled in Jax. Again was not inpressed. It was very dull. Everything was there but seasoning. I loaded up with red pepper flacks, garlic, black pepper, and even hot sauce(and I can’t even take heat) but it still did very little help to the chili. If I’m looking for a create my own pizza it really depends on what side of Butler I’m on if I choose this place or the another create your own pizza spot. This is just OK in my book for pizza.

This place is loud and it’s difficult to hear the people behind the counter when they are speaking to you. That said, the food is wonderful, rich, and nutritious. The staff helped me decide what to get and their suggestion was right on the money! The restaurant is in the corner, so it might be easier to park in the adjacent parking lot than trying to find a spot in their parking lot. Plus it puts you closer to the traffic signal when you’re ready to leave. Disclaimer: I really love pizza, so it’s not too hard to please me: good dough, good toppings. They also have salads and sandwiches. They have a decent variety if you are not into pizza. They have many toppings to choose from, different types of dough, several gluten free options, and some desserts.

I had a less than stellar pizza experience last night. I ordered my pie with pesto only to find tomato sauce when I got home. because I wanted pesto I got chicken with it and it was dry and barley edible. the crust was not amazing. .but rather it was chewy and flavorless. my first time was so awesome. now I’m left disappointed

Whoa buddy! This place is what you expect from a contemporary pizza joint! You will not find a red-checkered table cloth anywhere, but you will find amazing food, new(and delicious) pizza combinations, and a staff that is second to none! I have tried multiple items on the menu, and each is better than the last. This place says that everything is «made with love» and it is not just a catchy phrase!

There are quite a few places on Southside blvd that you can get pizza. When I first saw uncle Uncle Maddios I thought«oh well another pizza spot» I have been there a few times now and I really like the restaurant. It is one of those spots that let you customize your pizza from the crust and sauce type to their large assortment of fresh toppings; cafeteria style. If you are not too detail oriented they offer pizzas that you can just order from the menu without the hassle of choosing everything. I always order a 13″ that is supposed to feed two people but I eat it myself(don’t judge me). My go to pizza is composed of Canadian bacon, caramelized onions and sun dried tomatoes. I think it is pretty good. Crust is thin but not dry, sauce is flavorful and toppings are fresh. The restaurant is pretty clean and there is a lot of seating. Visually pleasing as well. Service is good and the employees are cordial. If I had to find one negative it would be that their Instagram page had zero post on there even though they encourage you to tag them. That’s minor anyways. I’m just glad I have another lunch option close to work.

My buddy and I dined-in at Uncle Maddio’s and everything was perfect. We created our own pizza and shared an extra large for $ 17.99 which included cheese and any three toppings. Great deal! My buddy left me in charge of creating the pizza so I chose the whole wheat dough with tomato-basil sauce and mozzarella cheese. For the toppings: mushrooms, grilled steak, and anchovies. Great combination I must say and gluten-free too! Our pizza was ready within fifteen minutes and it was excellent. Hot and toasty just the way I like it. Awesome service! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Uncle Maddio’s is now my favorite pizza joint. Pizzas are made fresh and fast with«Served with Love Guarantee.» Note: They also serve signature pizzas, homemade salads with made-from-scratch homemade dressings, and toasted paninis.

I’ve been here twice — once for a free pizza and once because it was delish. The pizza is fast and great ingredients. The crust is pretty light — I’ve gotten wheat both times — but I like that there are a lot of veggie options. We were also given a sample cannoli our first time there, which was pretty legit. The cookies though… omg the cookies. They are called love cookies and that is just so real. They’ll warm them up in the oven for you, too!

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a nice surprise. This places serves what I call pizza for everyone. I ordered a pizza made with mozzarella cheese, basil tomato sauce, onions, portabella mushrooms, and pepperoni. It was peefecf for me, every bite was delicious. I would recommend this place to people who loves pizza!

I had a chance to check out Uncle Maddio’s before their grand opening and I was in for a treat. Literally & figuratively. Solid 3.5 star experience. How it works: you pick your crust(including gluten free as an option) and either go with a signature pie they have on the menu or you can build your own. If you choose to build your own, you get up to three toppings. Mozzarella does not count as a topping, but if you order a specialty cheese(like feta, or even vegan cheese) it does count as one of your three toppings. I went with the make your own pizza: wheat crust, pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, mozzarella, caramelized onions and bacon. Kevin — the owner of this franchised location — was impressed with my combination and mentioned he hadn’t heard that one just yet. My mistake was I should have gone with regular diced tomatoes, not sun-dried to add a little more moisture to the pie. I did appreciate, however, that they put the sun-dried tomatoes under the cheese to prevent them from being burned in the oven. We were also treated to a beautiful display of their dessert offerings. The cannoli were by far my favorite and I’m very glad I don’t work in the area, because I would be there every day just for a cannoli. Uncle Maddio’s definitely offers a nice alternative for a quick lunch if you work in the Baymeadows/Southside area.

For a few weeks I had seen a sign promising that Uncle Maddio’s would be opening soon. Since the strip where it is located is almost exactly halfway between where I live and where I work I was very intrigued. I visited earlier this week and made my own pizza. I went with the whole wheat crust, mozzarella, red sauce, grilled chicken, onions, and mushrooms. The setup of the restaurant is nice and the staff was super friendly. They were having some computer issues as they wrapped up my order but they got me taken care of in time for it not be an issue. I’ve heard they have some great desserts but I haven’t yet to try them. I wasn’t crazy about the flavor of the chicken but I really loved the pizza as a whole. The setup of this place is going to bring obvious comparisons to Your Pie. I like Your Pie but I liked this place better. I found the prices to be about the same and it seems like the serving and quality is just a little better here. Overall this is a great lunch or dinner option in the area. Super friendly staff, great food, and good prices.
