Great boat ramp for beginners learning how to put your boat in and out of the water. There are a couple of ramps, so you are not tying one up as you practice. Beautiful spot

This was the first place i ever went kayaking in Jax, and I say again this is an AWESOME location if you looking to do a short 2.5hr kayak or canoe trip. there is ample parking and the street actually dead-ends into the water. There is a boat launch here but it is in a separate location of the canoe launch. After I arrived me and a buddy decided to head upstream to the West on Fishweir Creek. The paddle was about an hour and ten minutes and the turn around point is just past the Timuquana Rd. bridge. I think its pretty cool to paddle all the way up into some of these small creeks where the water depth is only 6 inches and you still have yet to bottom out your yak or canoe. The paddle back was around 50mins. **Just be aware that if you do decide to paddle to the East out into the Ortega River that the wind, waves and currents get a little rougher as it was also difficult paddling through all the boat wake as well. Lots of birds and other wildlife though on the creek. Seen tons Blue Heron and White Egrets, if your quiet enough you can get close enough for some great photos.
