Yashi Sushi

Honestly, not an orderly place. Orderly not being it’s not clean. Orderly meaning the people who came after us were eating their food and finishing before we received our food. I didn’t not appreciated that at all. I would imagine who comes first and order first would get their meal first but not here. I would most likely not come back. The food was average. Not bad but not extraordinary.

This place was located next to my hotel. Ordered the Monster Sushi and it was delicious. The service was spot on. I recommend this place and would come back again. Not much of a Red Wine selection, ordered the house Merlot and it wasn’t bad.

Tried this place with my co-​workers since they said soo many good things about it, so I decided to try it out. Although the place was bright and clean the sushi wasn’t all that great. The sushi were not as flavorful as I’d hoped and seemed a lot smaller. Idk maybe it’s just me. But can’t be since I’m a fan of sushi, A lot. I can’t stress that enough. The only reason I would go back it’s because it’s convenient to where I work and I get sushi cravings a lot. Plus it’s around my price range but I kno other sushi place with great flavor and great prices. But for now I’m going to give this place a 2. Maybe next time I’ll go it’ll change my mind.

Big fan of sushi and know my way around a menu. This place has great prices and super fresh fish. They offer a great selection of special chief rolls instead of mostly standard ones like California rolls. Samurai roll was amazing!

Cute place, I come here for lunch all the time. The sushi is delicious especially the roll with the fried jalapeño inside !

Me & my boyfriend love Yashi Sushi, its our go-​to sushi place… I’m a fan of their steamed dumplings, and miso soup! the only thing i would change is if they had the choice of delivery

One of the better sushi joints in Jax I have found so far. Fish was fresh and service was good. Little gem hidden.

Very good! My favorite roll is the Osaka roll I really recommend it! Also the servers are very nice and always smiling.

Food comes out hot! Everything was fresh and tasty. And most important, this place is very clean! I’ll be coming back often.

High qaulity sushi. I loved the food and was able to get in and out very quickly. I had a sushi usual «spicy tuna roll» !!! I devoured it very quickly and afterwards I skipped across the street and enjoyed a large iced coffee from starbucks.

Food was so-​so. The seaweed salad was great. The tempura asparagus roll was a little soggy and bland. The veggie combo roll was just alright. The chicken hibachi was great. The tempura on the tempura ice cream was really soggy. The waiter was nice, but when he asked how the food was, and I told him it was bland, he didn’t really seem to care. The place was clean and the food come out quickly.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Yashi I’d by far the best sushi place in Jax. The owners are such sweethearts and the service is always amazing. It’s nice to have a place that’s actually reasonably priced as well. I HIGHLY recommend you to try it. Oh, and the Nobody’s Home Roll is the best hands down.

After the great reviews I tried this place today and was quite disappointed. I ordered the sashimi lunch special to go. First off the special comes with rice but she said rice is only included when dining in. So she charged me $ 1.50 for rice, Really!!! Then I noticed the tuna was sliced quite thick sashimi is thin slices not chunks. Then it came about half hour later, I was sick to my stomach and all that goes with it.

My wife and I love sushi, and we are trying out all the sushi restaurants around the Southside area. We stopped in here for lunch the other day, and we were quite disappointed. I ordered a steak and shrimp hibachi as well as several sushi rolls. We were the only customers there when we ordered, and it still them a considerable amount of time for them to get our food ready. When we did receive our sushi, we noticed that they arranged the sushi into a heart shape, which was nice. However, we also noticed that the sushi rolls were very small in size in comparison to the other sushi restaurants around here. The raw salmon on my sushi roll was not very fresh, and the rest of the sushi taste mediocre. When I finally received my hibachi, I was further disappointed by the small portion they gave me, and it wasn’t the best tasting hibachi either. The prices of their food were around the same as the other places in the area, but the quality and quantity of their food were lacking. I could tell that their business was not doing very well, and they were trying to save money by giving their customers less food. This is not the way to do business. My wife and I will not be coming back to Yashi Sushi.

Unfortunately, we had a really negative experience at Yashi. My husband and I are doing the Whole30 which means you can’t have any grains for 30 days. We are huge sushi fans so wanted to satisfy the craving and decided we would get rolls, just with no rice. We explained our situation to the staff and told them we couldn’t have any rice and they said it wouldn’t be a problem. Well, we get home and are almost done with our meal when we realize there is rice in the rolls. They used it as a «glue» to seal the seaweed to itself in the roll. I called and explained what happened and was treated very rudely, given no apology and told that I should have specified that there couldn’t be a single grain of rice. So I took a picture and went back in the next day and was treated even worse. Their customer service was distasteful. We won’t be returning.
Be careful if you have food allergies!

This used to be my favorite sushi place, the sushi is absolutely delicious but the service is terribly slow. If you have a spare hour and a half to eat sushi then this is your place. It is very clean and the staff is extremely nice, but not necessarily the most attentive or organized. Definitely not good for a big party.

Where do I start? My experience here was horrible to say the least. The rolls are rolled so small they are smaller than a quarter.
The salmon was fishy, the cream cheese was warm, and the salad was wilted and brown in some places. Shall I continue?
There was no lunch special and I had to purchase the salad as a side, which if you read above it was not worth it.
The interior was older feeling, which is odd thought this was a newer strip.
I will not return to yashi, Crazy sushi is just up the street on touchton and is better price quality and service. Read and believe the recent negative reviews.

Good sushi place, came here as fellow Unilocaler recommended it was great. Fresh sushi bit medium sized not large and that’s okay.
Good fast clean service, prices were in line of everyone else $ 25. Will visit again, nice job.
