Wow the ice cream size here is ginormous! My boyfriend got the homemade cookie dough in a large size and we both couldn’t finish it. Very flavorful, and rich, but not too rich. It was perfect. Can’t wait to try more flavors next time we are in town.

Grew up in westford and on kimballs ice cream. Lived all over the country and even the best ice cream in other places is meh compared to kimballs. Moved to nh and get to go to jaffrey. First time I went there and tasted kimballs grapenut ice cream, i wept… I was home to the best ice cream in north America.

Simply, awesome. Ice cream workers are super quick and efficient at making the lines move quickly. There will always be a wait, but it’s always worth it. Tons of flavors, seating, & parking.

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon after some solid mr monadnock hiking. Drive by and BAM! Kimball farm. I’ve read many a New England ice cream list ranking kimball farm at the top.(Didn’t realize there were so many of them). So, there were 6 lines and it still took at least 30 minutes. This was due to the fact that the girls all seemed slow and the computers crashed twice — leading to no ability to take any money. They’ve got a solid list of ice creams and I really wanted to try a few. But therein lies the issue. I ordered a brownie sundae — 3 heaping scoops and I could only get one flavor. I have NEVER been anywhere that restricts you to one flavor for a sundae. The ice cream was great, but I wanted to try a few flavors, not a pint of just one. And my girlfriend asked for a cup — they have flavors down to kiddie(heaping pile) and only allow more than one flavor w a large. WTF? Anyway, I had the PB chocolate chip — and it was quite good. Not super sugary, well flavored and more on the creamy side. I had it as a brownie sundae, which she warmed up for me. Brownie itself wasn’t impressive, a small cakey brownie that worked well in the sundae. Whipped cream was fine(not very thick and not much of it). Hot fudge was good — not too rich. My girlfriend had the special gingerbread flavor that was really good. She also had coffee, which she also loved. So, ice cream was great — good flavor, not too sugary. Rules and I think general attitude suck.

My two favorite ice cream places are Treadwell’s in Salem, Mass. and Kimball Farms. The prices at Kimball are excellent for the quality and the amount you get. The small size is really medium. The large size is almost a pint and only 5 bucks. Kimball’s is an experience – highly recommended.

They do everything well: handle big throngs, keep the place hyper– clean, maintain the old dairy bar vibe, and hold prices to reasonable level. And the location is lovely, just across Rt 124 from the Sawyer Farm. Waving fields of hay for your viewing. The food is well done, especially fried seafood. The batter is light, the flavors are bright and never oily. Clams and scallops are high notes. Both would rate a solid B against the A players down in Essex Ma. The Lobster roll is as good as it gets. Crammed with knuckle and claw meat on a grilled roll. Really crammed. Pricy? Maybe. But for a once a summer treat, worth it. Burgers are solidly good, served with waffle fries and a slice of melon. And I haven’t even mentioned ice cream. And that is what Kimballs is famous for. Worth the drive. And worth a bit of a wait if they are busy.

If I could give 3.5 stars I would. Food was average. We had a order of pepper rings(although fresh, once you’ve had them at Salisbury Beach nothing can compare. I wouldn’t get them again here.), the hot dogs although 9 inches are just average tasting, the potato salad was very good, the waffle fries had clearly sat around awhile, and the unexpected huge pieces of watermelon were delicious. The employees were pleasant despite how busy they were. The frustrating thing was them running out of ketchup. Despite about 20 of us telling them over and over, it was never refilled at the condiment bar. We had ice cream after. I know everyone rants and raves about the ice cream but I’d say it was average. I had a scoop of strawberry kiwi sorbet(which had no kiwi flavor at all) and the orange pineapple ice cream(very creamy but just okay). My boyfriend had coffee heath bar crunch frozen yogurt and said it was really good. The ice cream portions were huge but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to go here. We only went as we had just hiked all day and were starving.

Food was amazing! Loved sitting outside in the beautiful weather! The fried seafood is great but the onion rings were my favorite! Not too much batter and didn’t fall apart as you ate them. The ice cream was out of this world! I had the Moo Tracks which was indulgent and delicious. I would go back weekly if I lived in the area. I agree the prices are a little high but you do receive a large portion of food. I also agree that it smells funky inside. Definitely don’t go inside if not necessary.

Great selection of ice cream, such incredible options that are like dreams that you couldn’t even possibly make up. Food service like most places of this style is a little slow. The smell inside is probably the only thing that keeps me from a 5 star review. There is a molasses ice cream that is so incredible I could eat it everyday. The food is average maybe a little above soggy buns and okay burgers. I would go for the ice cream I’m not sure I would do the food again.

This should be a very long review but I’ll keep it short and sweet. Food. Not cheap but excellent. Really, very good for what it is, which is amazing. The ice cream alone is worth the trip. The fried seafood is amazing. Attractions Kimball has clearly spent a lot of money and thought out, long and hard, how to build their attractions right and it’s amazing. The place is laid out well. The construction of the, for instance, the batting cages is just mind blowing. Yes, check out the granite sculpture and the walkways to the batting cages. This is a top shelf venue that offers a wide array of things to do in the family fun category. Groups I brought a group here for an event was blown away with the level of care we received. There is so much infrastructure at Kimball made specifically to make sure large groups have a good time and they’re very good at what they do. They staff the events well and they’re used to dealing with groups. I cannot recommend highly enough bring a group to Kimball. All in all, my experience over the period of a week with Kimball was excellent all the way down the line. From the staff in the parking lots to the people making and serving food to the ice cream, sigh, ice cream, it was one week of constant success. I cannot wait to go back. I recommend Kimball Farm unconditionally.

Went to Camp Wa-Klo nearby for 8 years and I’ve been going to Kimball’s even longer. Trips to Kimball’s are REWARDS at camp – that is how good it is. The waffle fries are just beyond! Back in the day, you couldn’t get peppermint stick outside of New England and this was always a special treat. It is not too expensive(Camp would never go for that) but the portions are HUGE. I don’t think I’ve ever even been able to finish a «Kiddie» ice cream. I still try and stop whenever I’m in town. I docked one star, because as far as restaurants go, you should able to eat/walk inside without plugging your nose. I’d loathe the rainy day trip there because the indoor smell – tartar? I don’t know what it is, makes me sick.

Prices for the meals are a little high, maybe portions being so large it is a fair value. Ice Cream is amazing, and prices for portions are VERY reasonable. Long lines in peak season/times.

For morbid obese people watching– come here. Everything is super sized! My grandmother used to take me here a few times a summer, along with the High Tide, and Diamond Acres(which burnt down a few years ago). This used to be known as Silver Ranch. You can still see the SR branding on the legs of the tables. I used to get the chicken fingers as a kid. They were hand breaded back then. I do not think they make the current chicken fingers in house– so skip them now. I love the fried seafood here. The seafood combo is enough for two or three people to glut out. The banana split is epic. You really need four people to tackle it without a falling asleep afterwards. It is in a park like setting so you could bring a blanket and nod out afterwards. Haddock and the clam strips are my favorites. The onion rings here are amazing. They use a really light crunchy batter. The burgers and sandwiches are boring, I would not order. Potato salad is just plain weird here– my boyfriend says, some of the worst he has ever had. French fries are just okay, highly edible. The ice cream here is their own, and not to be missed. My favorite flavors are Caramel cashew chip, and Vanilla cherry chip. My moms is the coconut chocolate almond. Prices are moderate, but you get a ton of food, you are really better of sharing. The seafood is really fresh and tasty. including the lobster roll and clam chowder.

I love the Kimball Farms in Jaffrey! I’ve been going there for years since I grew up in nearby town. The portion sizes at Kimball’s are huge. Sure, you might pay in the neighborhood of $ 20 for a lobster roll or a seafood platter, but good luck finishing your meal(you’ll probably have leftovers). The lobster rolls are the best you can get anywhere, in my opinion. They’re more mayonnaise-ish than buttery. The fried seafood, like clams and scallops, is always perfect. The ice cream at Kimball’s is amazing. There are a couple dozen flavors to choose from as well as sundaes and frappes. Like the seafood, the portions of ice cream are huge. If you’re only a little bit hungry, order a kiddie size. A large ice cream at Kimball’s is not for the faint of heart!

Stopped here for lunch after a long hike, and we had the necessary appetite for the large portion sizes. I got a surprisingly tasty hamburger(albeit for $ 9), a giant slice of fresh watermelon, and potato salad that tasted a bit old and soured. What really spoiled this meal were the prices, way too high for what you get, and the attitudes of employees. An employee yelled at a customer for filling up her toddler’s sippy cup with water from the soda fountain, demanding that the mother buy a cup(a bathroom Dixie cup) for $ 2.50 if she wanted water for her son. It was very rude, and a bit outrageous. Good food, too bad the experience made it not worth going back. Also, there’s no kid’s menu, and portions are wayyy too big for a little kid!
