I’m glad there’s a restaurant downtown but after going there a couple months ago I’m not going back and not recommending it. Way overpriced. Salads are also hugely expensive. My husband had a swordfish dinner($ 26), and it was dry and tasteless. We cook it much better at home. Service was crappy. We had plates brought to our table that were for another table. The waitress didn’t even realize it — we had to actually hand them over to the couple next to us. If I go out to a restaurant and pay astronomical prices, I expect an amazing experience that I cannot recreate at home. I expect the place to look really good, decorated tastefully. I expect excellent service. That is not what I received at Sunflowers.

We have been to Sunflowers quite a few times in 2016 and they have a NEWCHEF who is AWESOME! We have ordered several different things on the menu and all has been delicious! The owner is always there and greeting people. She is very friendly and accommodating as is the wait staff. If you have allergies they will accommodate you 100% and it is always delicious as well! I love the small romantic atmosphere with some tables deeming benches with pillows and back support for comfort. We can’t say enough about this place. They make going out to dinner a pleasure! There is also live music on some of the nights so for me that is another plus and the music is soothing and wonderful! This is definitely a top go to place for us! Five stars all the way!

I’ve only been here a couple times, but I don’t really get the appeal of this place. The first time I went with my husband for breakfast, and we were the only people there, and it still took close to ½ hour to get our food. And to be honest, for breakfast, it really wasn’t all that good. The 2nd time I went with a couple coworkers, and was recommended to get their mac and cheese. Sorry, but this was one of the most bland, tasteless dishes of mac and cheese I’ve ever had. I ended up putting so much salt and pepper on, just to get some taste, and even then just found I could not finish it. And this time as well, the service was just quite slow, especially when we are going for a lunch during work.

We went for lunch yesterday. We have been before and enjoyed the experience. The food is good. Yesterday, however, the service was poor. I don’t blame it on the waitress. She simply couldn’t keep up with a restaurant full of customers. The hostess was very helpful to her(and us). I think we would still be sitting there if it weren’t for her. It just isn’t a pleasant experience when it’s clear that the staff is overwhelmed. I hope the management will keep this in mind for staffing in the future.

We arrived at the restaurant Sunday only to be told that they were full and we were asked to leave. We were lucky enough to have a customer over hear Us questioning of the young hostess when he told us they were getting ready to leave we could have their table. The hostess gave us a dirty look and walked away. This place has zero management at all. Three out of four meals served either had to be altered or changed due to their not having the proper ingredients. Once we sat down the place had several other open tables and we questioned why we were told we had to leave and the waitress answer was because the hostess had things to do that afternoon. When does an 18-year-old hostess decide what customers can come in and what customers have to leave. Typically management would want to turn the tables over, It was no where’s near closing time. We felt rushed the entire time we were there the food at best was mediocre.

I enjoyed lunch at Sunflower’s last week! I had the New Hampshire salad with a wonderful combination of flavors including goat cheese, apples, walnuts and a maple salad dressing. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful with vibrant paintings. Service and staff excellent. Lovely place for lunch meetings or birthday celebrations. They cater too! Friends said dinner is also incredibly good there so I’ll look forward to going back next time I’m in New Hampshire!

Excellent dining experience after climbing Mt Monadnock. Quiet ambience with a full bar and in Jaffrey center and good service!!! The Salad with fresh blueberries with their own maple vinaigrette was superb. Followed up the tequila lime chicken. Blueberry ice cream to end was rich and creamy. Will definitely be back!

Food was delicious here– when it came! Service was extra extra slow and disjointed — even tho restaurant not crowded. But wonderful scallops, lamb and local strawberry shortcake. I would cautiously recommend

I have dined at Sunflowers on many occasions and I have always been thrilled with the experience. The array of menu choices pleases all kinds of palates. The salads are always fresh, the seafood and steaks are always prepared to perfection and they offer a great selection of beer, wine and specialty cocktails. They also offer breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner so the chances are… if you are hungry, they will be available to serve you. They are also located in downtown Jaffrey, close to a vast selection of shopping, galleries and historic sites. If you are ever in Jaffrey, I recommend you try Sunflowers for a good drink, a great meal and service with a smile.

The food was ok when I visited there some time ago, but they have violated the trust of customers who, like myself, signed up to receive their newsletter and have since been exposed to an avalanche of unwanted & unsolicited email! BEWARE: Sunflowers Restaurant gave their customer email list to a local artist group who wrongly exposed the email addresses of everyone on the list and tried to make light of it when I complained. This is a lot more than just the inconvenience or annoyance of receiving a dozen unsolicited emails; every person and every company on that list now has access to everyone else’s email address AND a «list service» that they do business with has everyone’s email address as well. I’d be very surprised if that«list service» doesn’t see a profit opportunity here. BUYERBEWARE!!! This is a huge breach if trust and very poor business practice. I will not be frequenting this establishment again.

I was so ready to love this place — live music, very charming, gorgeous art inside, food choices looked decent. But oh, it was upsettingly disappointing. We went in for dinner and it became apparent that most incoming guests had reservations. We did not, but were promptly seated and a drink order was taken. Food order taken 10 minutes later. 50MINUTESLATER, I asked a passing waitress for bread because we had noticed that every other table had been given bread and we had been overlooked. She quickly got bread over to us and drink refills. At no point did our own waitress check in about how long things were taking or even offer any service at all. At the half hour mark I was thinking«wow this place must be so good if they can wait this long to bring food out»(salad and salmon). But when the food arrived, there was more sadness. The salmon arrived first, a portion so paltry, the waitress told me as she presented it to me that she’d be taking half off the cost because the portion was so small. The salad was brought out 10 minutes later, lacking the bacon which was listed in the description. At this point, it’s just too late to put up a fight about the lack of excitement in the food: the rice pilaf was the texture of reheated leftovers(and tasted about the same), squash was passable, the salmon was a very small overlooked portion and had but a hint of the«maple glaze» it boasted. As my dining companion and I agreed to describe it, «it was food.» The half-off the entrée was appreciated, and the lack of a charge for a beer, but the slowness of service bordered on insane. I witnessed a customer loitering near the edge of the kitchen(which is viewable in the dining room) to ask where her food was. Staff was all very nice, but there sure are some areas of opportunity for this crew.

We were a party of 9 last night. We’d really enjoyed the food on three previous occasions. Last night the service was painfully slow. It took 45 minutes to get soup and they forgot to bring out the appetizers. When they finally came 2 minutes before the entrees they gave one of them to the wrong guest. The redeeming features of the meal were the lamb chops, fish & chips, Crème Brûlée and the awesome Almond Coconut Pie. Hopefully next time they’ll have better wait staff.

Fantastic in every way. We went for Sunday brunch. We were leaf looking from MA and wondered to Jaffree. Really terrific service, food, coffee. I had feta cheese omelet that was yummy, hubby had veggie omelet and loved it. Potatoes were different and good. Coffee outstanding. Go. Worth every penny, and I loved the waitress.

We were on vacation on the way home taking back roads. I used Unilocal to find a place for lunch that was not your usual fast food junk. We stopped in this little café and was pleasantly surprised at the bright cheery décor. It reminded me of a lunch spot in England. The place has a small very quaint bar, it also has an open kitchen where you can watch them prepare your meal. This is a great place to have lunch with a girlfriend and catch up on conversation.

The atmosphere here for a Sunday morning is unlike most other. Relaxing you can enjoy your Bloody Mary and watch your food get made while listening to live music. With a variety of 8 eggs Benny’s it’s hard not to find what you are looking far as far as style and flavor. I am person partial to the itlian and lobster Benny but would reccomend all. Their omelets although simple are extremely fresh. Love this place.

We found this restaurant on our way to our Bed and Breakfast in Jaffrey. We had lunch and dinner there on the same day. We happened to be there on their Bastille Day Dinner. Lunch was very good. Dinner was excellent. The wine and cocktails were as well. The staff were very hard working and charming.

We stopped here on our way to Mt. Monadnock for a quick lunch. It was surprisingly good. They had some vegetarian options, some gluten-free options and some suggestions for«heart healthy» choices or something. I had a burger which was one of the best burgers I’ve had, actually. My boyfriend had a veggie burger which he liked. The burgers came with the option of sweet potato fries or massive side salad. It was a small, cute place and I’d go back if I were in the area again. Oh, they have a bar too. The only downside is that service was a little slow … but we were in no rush, so it wasn’t a big inconvenience.
