I have been fortunate, these past few months, to attend the Meisner Level 2 class with Lyralen. It is a really special class.
I have been a working actress for the past 2 years but I had taken few classes. I contacted Lyralen on the advice of a friend who is a very successful actor. She allowed me to audit a class to see how it ran. At first I wasn’t sure it was for me. She warms up with Yoga, then the class did a repetition exercise. If you’ve never studied Meisner before it can seem a bit touchy feely, but in a way that is the point. Meisner has helped me to get in touch with my feelings and really live in a character. I found the exercises appropriately challenging and consistently felt myself facing new fears and reaching new levels in my acting.
Lyralen is a fantastic teacher she seems to know just how much to push each student so that everyone feels challenged and no one is over wrought. She is also incredibly supportive and insightful. She has a brilliant way in bringing out the genius in each of us.
I highly suggest this class to any Boston actor looking to take their performance to a higher level.

I’ve taken approx a year of Meisner classes at Another Country Productions, taught by Lyralen Kaye. I recommend them to anyone and everyone looking to improve the quality of their acting, their ability to connect with other actors, and their overall presence on stage or screen. Very welcoming environment for those new to acting, but Kaye has enough experience and training that actors of all levels can benefit. I had a very positive experience.

Lyralen’s Meisner classes broke me free from my deeply embedded socializations – I’m Canadian, and that niceness goes bone deep – and freed me to not just be spontaneous but to trust myself at a basic instinctual level.
As a consequence I no longer act when I’m on stage. I become. I know myself as the character; I’m not playing the character; I am him. This means that every night is completely spontaneous and different from the night before. My performance doesn’t read as acting; it reads as real. The last show I was in all I did was a five minute monolog. More than one person said it was their favorite part of the evening. One night the author of the monolog said I was perfect. The next night he said I did it completely differently and it was more than perfect.
There’s an unusual bonus to being real. The lines. I have to memorize them as usual but once they’re in I don’t have to look at them again. They’re waiting for me up on stage. All I have to do to remember my lines is walk up there and start talking.

Lyralen is wholly available to her students – she is committed to the craft of acting and to her students. To my pleasant surprise, she prepared an info-​laden syllabus and curriculum for us on the first day of the «Meisner I: Repetition into Scenes» that I took last year. I still have it and would refer back to it from time to time whenever I am «stuck» as an actor. She illuminates the art of Meisner with anecdotes of her own experiences and does not hold back her wealth of knowledge when it comes to her students. Her keen intuition and compassion makes her an excellent acting coach and I can’t recommend her enough.
The bottom line – sign up for the next class available with Lyralen if you are thinking of dabbling in Meisner and/​or becoming a more truthful actor.

I’ve taken an «Introduction to Meisner» workshop and a full Level 1 «Repetition into Scenes» 6 week class with Lyralen Kaye and it was easily the best acting training I’ve ever had. As an amateur and semi-​professoinal actor with 40 years of experience, I thought I understood what acting was all about. However, on a recommendation from a friend, I skeptically signed up for the introductory workshop. During that workshop, I learned that I had only scratched the surface of what could be accomplished with the right technique. Lyralen had opened my eyes to a whole new way of acting and taught me what being «in the moment» was REALLY all about.
Lyralen Kaye is an excellent director and actor in her own right, but perhaps her greatest talent is teaching the Meisner technique to her students. As a teacher, she is constructive, encouraging and exact with her suggestions and corrections. Her assessment of her student’s strengths and weaknesses is right on the money and her ability to match them for scene work is excellent.
Of all the acting workshops I have taken in my life, Lyralen’s was, by far and away, the best and most complete.
