Fresh Copy

Nice guy, got my papers printed quickly and in good quality. Was in and out in a few minutes. Definitely going to use Fresh Copy next time I gotta print something out.

The staff here are helpful when it comes to making copies and faxing papers. I will definitely come here again.

Fresh Copy is a great local copy shop. They do great color and black/​white prints and you can even bring your own paper. Definitely a great place if you’re in a hurry!

THis is a mixed review. On a normal rating system, I’d give it «average» which usually is three of five stars. On this system, 3 stars is A-​OK so I hesitate. It’s JUST OK.
I love having this business in JP. I don’t have a printer so can send them things to print, also copy applications and other such documents so when/​if the people I deal with –agencies, etc – say I didn’t send them in I have a copy. I am happy to give my business to a local small business, the prices are fine, and it is WELL worth it to me not having to do the copying myself.
I’ve seen two people who work there, one is a woman-R.-another a man. R. is there much less often (I don’t know her roll) but she is decent, bright, and competant.
My complaint stems from the main worker there, a guy. He has been downright rude to me even though I’ve been there before. He does not have a customer is right attitude at all. I’ve seen his attitude (body language, facial expressoion) vented at other clients as well. He’s bright and competant but is the type of person who quickly judges, it seems, other people to not be so… he gets impatient and acts like what is asked of him is a burden instead of just communicating. It can be a real drag to deal with him so sometimes I go at the end of my errands and just brace myself.
Since he’s the main person who you interact with, he sets the tone of the business. Could really use some people skills classes. Essentially he strikes me as a bright guy in the wrong job… he shouldn’t deal with the public perhaps.

Service is better than great. In fact they will do stuff like taking your color picture and orienting it precisely on a part of a page, stuff I don’t know how to do on my computer, at no extra charge. High quality prints. Thoughtful, knowledgeable advice. They’ll make a file of your print job and e-​mail it to you low cost. Way cheaper than Mitt’s place (Staples) last time I checked. No Kinko bums-​rush, and locally owned.
No loud music, no rapid staff turnover. Expanded hours.
Only drawback: for high-​volume copying, pricier than the chain stores.

I’ve only had good experienced here. The staff are helpful and quick, the new hours are convenient and its a great resource in Jamaica Plain. I love NOT dealing with big chain print centers!

Just stopped by here today to pick up a copy job that I had emailed in. I told them when I would be by to pick it up and they had it ready for me. I was in and out of there in just a few minutes.
Although I plan on getting a home printer once I move, this is a great alternative for me, especially since they were within walking distance.
Another nice plus for me is that they have resume paper and it’s only $ 0.15 cents extra per page. I had bought resume paper just the other day and it was $ 8 for 20 sheets including envelopes.
Also, their hours have changed. They are now open M-​F, 9am to 7pm, and Sat, 10am to 2pm.

yikes, expensive. if you got plenty of money go here. They seem nice on the phone. Color copies 75 cents other places 49.

Prompt, friendly service, and I like the fact that it’s not Kinko’s or something of the sort, but a locally owned business.
I’ve never encountered loud music or bleached blonde, bleary-​eyed girls here, though. (Not that I would mind, but it makes me wonder whether we are talking about the same shop…)
I’ve never had any problems here; the only thing I dislike are the hours (Mo-​Fri 11 – 6, with a break from 3 – 4). Seems somewhat insane (and VERY inconvenient for customers) to open that late, have weird lunch hours, and be closed on Saturdays. It also seems like they’re changing their hours all the time (I remember it opening at 10 am at some point.) On more than one occasion I found myself in front of closed doors, or had to find an alternative because of their inconvenient hours.

Fresh Copy is a quirky hole in the wall store. If you blink, you’ll miss it. They strive to me the grassroots Kinko’s of Jamaica Plain, what with the bleached blonde, bleary-​eyed girl behind the counter in no official uniform except Hangover BedHead.
There’s loud music and you’re trying to fax your taxes to the IRS or something equally important. You feel, somehow, that security isn’t at its highest level and that the money you’ll be spending might actually be funneled to some underground, extremist, environmental group.
In other words, Fresh Copy is the bomb store that can only improve with time and more money to pay for products and its copy needs upkeep. Until then, try making copies of your manifesto for cheap, or picking out some nifty neon card stock to mail that sex fantasy to your boyfriend in jail. Troy will love it.
