One of the things I love the most about being a resodent of JP is how many good Latin food restaurants we have. Latino is definitely one of them and it happens to be very inexpensive -$ 15 bucks will get you enough food for 2!-

I had great hopes for this place but sadly was extremely disappointed. Me and the boy decided to stop here late night for a quick dinner since nothing else was open. We were 2 seconds away from just getting subway across the street and calling it a night but the boy was mezmerized by the signage, and both of us being fans of authentic latino food(like eastie) decided to take the plunge and try a new place. Boy ordered a standard chicken quesadilla and I ordered a salad with shrimp. I’d like to point out there are zero prices listed and everything was handwritten on poster sheets so that should have been my first red flag. The woman who took the order seemed nice enough but had zero customer service skills. We decided to get the order to go since it was a bit hot and stuffy and smelled a bit like sewage there. There was only one table of ladies sitting there done with their food and another couple that came in after us so at no point was it busy. We proceeded to wait over 20 – 25 minutes for our food. The woman behind the counter kept looking over at us but never telling us or giving us an update about the food. The owner/manager was walking back and forth and never greeted us or tried to intercept or hurry anything along. We were both getting pretty impatient due to the lack of communication so at one point I asked the man if he could check our order. He montioned to the girl who waved for me to come up to pay but then she ignored me for another 10 minutes. Finally she packs up our food… at this point I’m annoyed but I just want to leave and when I asked her how much everything was– keep in mind i ordered a SALAD and a QUESADILLA– she had the audacity to tell me it was $ 25 total. WHAT? I asked her if she was serious — and asked her how much each dish was– she told me the salad was $ 12 and that the quesadilla was also $ 12…WTF? Had I known it was going to cost that much I would have gladly just gone to eastie to have an actual good meal. I told her there were no prices listed and that was ridiculous and what I should have done was look at the menu but was so heated I didn’t think of it at the moment– I was so pissed I just paid and left. It was totally a scam and I got the vibe from other reviews that they kind of just make up their prices. Now back at the apt– the boy looked at my salad and said it looked decent — the salad was mediocre– it had tiny little shrimps and literally lettuce and onions. I have no idea what dressing they used but the lettuce was DRENCHED with it. Like I had to drain it out to eat it. Also, the quesadilla was a decent size BUT it was disgustingtly salty. So salty that the boy could not even eat it and had to throw it out. all in all, yep a waste of $ 25 that I would have gladly used at subway. I will not ever be returning.

So far, so good! So many more options than the other Dominican restaurants around here(I’m talking about you, Yely’s). Perfect portion sizes and for $ 10, you can get a large plate of rice, beans, meat and salad. I opted for a vegetable since I’m vegetarian(eggplant btw, so good). Service is very friendly and not rushed.

They messed up my order even though I was very clear what I wanted. They also overcharged me for the order. The person I spoke to about it said she didn’t know the prices of burritos even though she works there, and added that prices change all the time. She spoke to me as if I were a fool. Very poor customer service.

I’ve ordered takeout in the past form here, and now eat in. Their food is authentic Latino cuisine, hence the name. The atmosphere there is warm and welcoming. I didn’t feel rushed and ordered more food, while bachata and merengue played in the background. They also make large orders of empanadas when we have food days at work. When you want simple, quick but good latin food, hit up the Latino Restaurant!

Fantastic restaurant! Miss Sarit and I were staying just a block and a half from this establishment, and with a name like«Latino Restaurant» we decided to give it a try! We walked in and were sat immediately, entering the place you’ll notice some authentic décor as well as a bunch of guys watching fútbol or Mexican soap operas(making comments about the actresses’ «endowment»). Everyone here was drinking out of red solo cups, which I thought was funny. I ordered the burrito, but asked to make it vegetarian. The burrito came out the size of my thigh and cost a whole 7 $ or so. It tasted fresh, was actually quite scrumptious and it filled me up for an entire day! Keep in mind that it has a lot of rice in it, so if you’re on an Atkin’s-inspired diet, this may not be for you. I’ll come back and try something more authentic for sure!

Stumbled upon this place and so glad I did! Eight dollars and change bought me a «medium» combo plate and some plaintains. I had super moist baked BBQ chicken with some rice with black beans. The sauce was delicious. I liked it so much that I drove my leftovers back home with me when I left Boston for the day. If I didn’t have to rush off so early for a business meeting, I would have waited for fresh(!) chicharonnes that would have taken 5 or 10 minutes to fry up. Also, staff was very friendly and interior was clean. If I worked in the neighborhood, I would be here all the time: good and affordable food provided by friendly people in a clean environment, what more can you ask for?

Bottom line: good food, prices, and service. Every once in a while, a brother needs some rice. Puerto Rican rice to be exact. Many failed attempts at making the Puerto Rican classic has taught me a lesson: it’s better to just frigging buy it because it’s not going to come out as good at home. But I’m still relatively new to Boston and I haven’t found a good PR restaurant. I’d been told that JP has many worthy Latin restaurants so that’s how I came across the aptly named Latino Restaurant. As far as I can tell, Latinos is a Dominican restaurant. And, at the mid day hour I visited Latino’s, it functioned as a cafeteria, with their dishes on display buffet-style. I asked them what specials they had. They told me that for $ 9 bucks(including tax) I could get: salad, a drink, a side dish, and a protein item. I asked them for the Puerto Rican rice(arroz con gandules) and the beef stew. A sexy-pants Dominican chick brought it out a couple of minutes later. A massive mound of rice. A bowl of the stew and a plate with a fresh side salad. The food was good and plentiful. I have no real complaints. But there was something missing in my rice. It didn’t have the little bits of pork/ham that I was expecting and the beef stew didn’t blow me away. So while I liked the food, and sexy-pants, I can’t say I loved it. So I’m going to have to keep looking for my PR rice fix. For what it’s worth, a lot of people were coming and going while I was there so a lot of other people seem to love it. Give it a shot.

Hubby and I went for dinner, we decided to eat in. The amount of food was worth the price. Being american, and cant speak a word of espanol. I relied on my pointing abilities to get what i wanted. We ate til our bellys could hold no more. the music is loud. Must go outside to hear on the cell phone. who needs to talk on the phone anyway, when your mouth is full of delicios food. We will make this place our date night spot.

Got takeout from here and it’s very good. Typical spanish /dominican food like other reviews mentioned. Biste con arroz y abichuela & the Sancocho are standouts here. For most, the portions are enough to eat leftovers tommorrow, to me it is just the appetizer.

The waitresses are friendly, the décor basic, the dining room bustling with noisy families. My quarter chicken with rice and beans was tasty though extremely salty, and bf enjoyed his Cuban sandwich on crusty bread(the heavy mayo kept me from taking a bite). Two meals, two Goya drinks came to a $ 13 check. Whoa.

Good spanish/dominican food, and it can get crowded at times with loud talk and loud music and i think they sell beer there too, but the prices cant be beat, and the daily specials are nice combinations, it is a sit down place but i think its good to take out, good stuff…

Great place for a quick meal, they have plenty of food ready all you have to do is just pick what you like. I had bake chicken which great and my GF had stew which also good too each was $ 5.50. Despite the look from the outside, it serves good food and great services.

This place is really cool. If your Hispanic its the cool chill spot. I usually go there to eat with my father sometimes so yea its PRETTYGOOD. Nice music, Excellent service, and Dominican waitresses. The prices are OK for a restaurant, but not to bad. All in all, this place is a really cool place to eat, but the only downside is that there is alot of middle-aged dudes. Besides that this place has great food and a good hang out.
