Lemuel Shattuck Hospital

Well last night I heard Governor Baker talk about Shaddock and Tewksbury Facility’s. What I want to know that if it were his kids that needed that type of help would they go there, or for that matter any of the politicians kids were in need of this type of facility would they go there? I can tell you NO they wouldn’t its awful. Under trained personnel, drugs available if you want them, not a good place at all. My son was there for almost a month, by the way he had BCBS as a insurance, doesn’t matter this is were we send our sick kids, because our system is broken. My son who was an addict, he passed away 5 weeks after leaving Shaddock, was discharged with a controlled substance (dilaudid). GREAT PLAN DISCHARGE AND ADDICT WITH JUST ENOUGH PILLS TO GET HIM GOING AGAIN. People are overdosing there, and why is that? They have access to drugs there. The State Police have there hands tied, because the policy won’t allow them to do there job. I WENT TO VISIT MY SON EVERYDAY IN FEAR OF WHAT WAS REALLY GOING THERE. IT MAY HAVE GREAT INTENTIONS BUT THE RESULTS AREN’T GOOD. A state run facility with state jobs at risk, so lets send the less fortunate to SHADDOCK or TEWKSBURY, because we don’t know what else to do. I understand not and easy task, but if GOVERNOR Baker visited these places he would know what I’m talking about, or at least check it out and see for himself. Its nothing but a holding tank for our kids, with no real direction when they leave.

What a shit hole. Ok, I was in the correctional unit for driving while suspended and since I’m on dialysis they sent me here. The nurses are seriously undertrained and can barely speak a word of English, the bathrooms smell like someone urinated all over them, the place is simply disgusting. It’s a third rate hospital for poor people.
Not to mention I caught an infection while I was there to the point where I had to be transferred to Brigham and Womans to get it taken care of.
Yes, I did something wrong, but really didn’t deserve this. Noe I had to have surgery to correct the infection I got and will have to have another surgery to fix the dialysis tube I have. Speaking to an attorney about suing the place for mal practice.

If you end up at the Shattuck? You’ve done something seriously wrong in your life.
Don’t use the restrooms here. Women’s room are just disgusting. I’m told people actually piss on the floor in the men’s room.
Idiotic staff.
Oh, and I love the active TB unit where some of the nurses don’t even wear masks anymore. Hey, if you gotta go, why not catch TB to help it out?
I like DMH police though. Funny guys.
