They say that NOONE makes pizza like New York and that is absooolutely true! If you don’t feel like driving into the city but are seriously craving an –authentic –NY style-home-slice-of-pizza, look no further than Margherita’s Pizza on Jamaica Avenue in Queens! It is soooo delicious, that one slice won’t be enough, lol ;o) My recommendation would be to ask for a slice with extra cheese! Yes, its a lot of calories that you’ll be working out real hard at the gym, but its definitely worth it! Another favorite is the sausage. Margherita’s makes their sausage perfectly tasty! Big, Soft, thick slices of sausage meat cooked to perfection. Juicy and NOT overly cooked/burned like other pizzerias. They do not make garlic knots(bummer, I know!) They only accept ca$h and no credit cards/debit cards.

A pretty good slice in the heart of Jamaica. And this place has been here since 1966! A little on the cheesier side, if you like that. No grandma slices, and I didn’t see anything else like heros or pasta besides pizza. But the regular and Sicilian slices are solid.

This pizza shop have been here since the beginning of time. This pizza shop even after 20 years is still the same. This is the best pizza I ever had. It was delicious. Omg just awesome goodness. Place is always crowded but I do see and taste why.

Been coming here for 25+ years. I must say the pizza is not the same, the sauce is not the same sauce I remember. And the staff is Quite rude. Not the same atmosphere at all. So the price has gone up, but the food and service are going down. They have the boot of Italy on their box, but there’s not one Italain person in the joint. Believe it’s owned by Spanish now. Which would explain the change in taste, and the Quality of there products.

I don’t understand why this place is praised so much. There aren’t a lot of pizza options, the slices are overloaded with cheese and grease and overpriced($ 3 for a regular slice in Jamaica!), and the sauce doesn’t have much of a taste to it. There are too many other good pizzerias in other parts of Queens to ever justify coming here. Quite frankly, I think the reason this place has been around so long is because Jamaica(and southeastern Queens in general) lacks quality pizzerias. The mediocrity of Jamaica that stems from its lack of quality eating establishments(and other things) quite literally saves a restaurant that would be mediocre(at best) in most other parts of the city.

This place is a whole in the wall and may not look like much but trust me its worth it. The pizza is absolutely delicious, my favorite in all of Queens.

What’s not to love about margheritas? The sauce is awesome and the cheese is phenomenal! I’ve had pizza from all over NYC and this is one of the best! Still Don’t believe me? Just walk by at any given hour of the day and look at all the folks standing at the counter eating their slices!

This was one of the best pizzas in NYC for awhile. Def a go to but as of late it tatse like nothing but oil. Not to mention they raised the prices and customer service SUCKS! I ordered half pepperoni and they charged me full price! Then refused to fix the price and then told me somebody else will buy the pizza if I don’t want it. Just avoid this place. If you can take the 10 min ride to gabys pizza on hillside and 202st

Average slice of pie. Definitely not anything to go out of your way for. The 4 and a half stars on Unilocal as of this post — way out of proportion in my opinion.

I honestly do not enjoy the flavor of this pizza. The sauce to me tastes like spaghetti-o sauce and the price per slice is outrageous especially considering I can go and grab a $ 1 slice right across the street in the old Gertz Mall. The pizza here smells and looks delicious and I’m sure they have other offerings that my appeal more to my palate, but I’m definitely not a fan of the pizza.

Food is good… price for food… eh’ 21.00 for a cheese pie…24.00 for anything other than a regular cheese pie …price for the size of the drink is ridiculous

I work nearby and this is literally the only pizza spot in like a 5 block radius of work. But when I tell you that whenever I am craving pizza, this place is consistently good. I’ve had regular slices, pepperoni slices and the regular Sicilian slices. All delicious. Good NYC pizza. No complaints. Yea it can be crowded during lunch hour and there aren’t any seats. But that is all to be expected for the ONLY pizza shop available at that time and it’s good… Delicious.

If you’ve ever been to the Ave as most people call the Jamaica Avenue shopping area. You must try this pizza. They’ve been here for well over 30 years and it’s apparent why. Their pizza is really good. The sauce is good and the crust has a good flavor. There isn’t much seating area inside and the line is always pretty long. You can order from the window if you’d like. It’s guaranteed that you’re always going to get fresh pizza here.

Went to Chitown and had original deep dish pizza and I’m sorry but this restaurant here makes the best pizza ever ! The only place better was in Italy ! The crust is not too thick(but not thin) cheesy and the tomato sauce is not acidic . They’ve been around since I was a little girl and still don’t deliver. Oh well …

The place is busy and small. Walking in, it’s two person wide, with people have the counter trying to order. The slice is very good for a traditional NY slice. A good amount of cheese, not too greasy, a fair amount of saltiness balanced by the sweet sauce, a medium minus thin crust. Then again, at $ 3, I would expect less in Jamaica. Joe’s in Manhattan has a comparable/better slice at the same price.

My first taste of New York pizza sure didn’t disappoint! The planets aligned, and the gods led us on a journey to find sustenance in this hole in the wall pizza parlor. Mind you, this is not for you calorie counters. After an 8-hour flight from Heathrow Airport, Rob and I decided to stay in NYC for a night and catch the flight to Indianapolis the next morning. I desperately wanted some NY style pizza for dinner. But we can’t! It’s New Years Day. Everything’s closed. Not a good start to 2015, I tell ya. The next day, we checked the bags with a few hours to spare. The ladies at the check-in desk suggested Margherita Pizza since it was within walking distance of the train station. About 5 blocks. The place is not easy to spot though. A narrow store front cramped between a bunch of discount shops. The seating is VERY minimal. A few small booths in the back and a two standing bars. We ordered two slices and a drink each, which came out to $ 20 even. Not bad for two slices as big as yo’ face! I could see my reflection in the pool of grease on top of each slice. But OMG! It was the perfect combo of cheese, sauce and crust. I’m not a huge sauce fan, but their sauce is delicious! The menu offers slices, pies, heroes, and extra toppings. Drinks include fountain sodas and Snapple drinks. Prices are reasonable. Great spot to grab a bite!

Delicious cheesy, big, old-fashion pizza! My co-worker claims this is the best pizza ever. So we came here during lunch hour. Immediately at sight, there was a line around the counter of people waiting to be served. We ordered our slices of plain pizza. The booths have the old fashion pizzeria chairs and benches set up — definitely brings back happy pizza memories from youth! A cheesy pizza is a good pizza! You can see the strings of cheese still connecting the slices of pizza when you pull them apart! The slices are pretty big, too! One bite, you are now tasting all the cheese just melting in your mouth as well as the crispy crust part of it!

Hands down my favorite pizza in Queens. Lots of gooey mozzarella cheese, Big on taste, sauce isn’t too sweet and I love the thin crust. You wont find a large dining space here. This is 1970’s counter top dining. It gets crowded during peak hours, so come after 2 p.m. The staff is quick but can easily get overworked and busy during peak hours. Everything is authenticly made here. Truly NY Pizza made with love.
