I would like to take the time to thank Nelson and Tom for their incredible customer service while visiting the sprint store. They made my visit quick and painless. I definitely recommend this location, they really do put the customer first!

My 2.5 year old Samsung Galaxy S4 was ‘sometimes charging(or not at all)’ or ‘simply NOT booting up’(despite any and all attempts at using different batteries, usb cables, performing soft resets, re-seating SIM card, etc. etc.) I tried squirting some WD40 into the mini-usb port, in case there was dirt there, but to no avail. The only thing the WD40 did was to give the charging cable an even looser feel, going in and out. When it DID boot up, it performed flawlessly. Yes, I’ve been carrying TEP($ 11) since I bought it/started a 2-yr contract with Sprint. I went online i) found an REPAIR shop, ii) made an appointment, iii) printed out my barcode sheet. The earliest appointment available was 12 noon. So I fight potholes, traffic, double-parkers along Jamaica ave and(miracle) find a parking spot several blocks away. There were very few customers, but plenty of ‘black shirts’(staff). One staffer saw my ‘barcode sheet’ and asked me could she help me. I told her my story but the ‘instant’ response was«would you like to upgrade?»(«No, I just need my phone looked at/repaired».) Orlando listened to my ‘symptoms’ report as I handed him the working phone. He flicked through the screens and apps, visually assessed the overall condition and then started working on the mini-usb port with one of HIS cables. He said immediately: «I suspect we need to change the charging port… do you have insurance?’(«Yes, I’ve been a solid TEP-guy since day one».) After looking me up in the computer, he smiled and said: «Will take me 20 mins., see if you like anything in the displays.» As I was perusing the displays, he left his desk, came up to me and pointed out some ‘moisture’ inside. I told him I had used WD40 to try and fix the ‘charging problem’. He nodded, didn’t give me grief over it, and headed back behind the desk(s). As I perused the phones on display, with some Heavy-D rap music blasting from a Harmon-Kardon speaker nearby, I noticed a heavy bias towards I-phones. Boy are they pricey! As a Samsung-guy I took interest in the sole S6 and S7, but they seemed delicate-jewel-like rather than ‘robust’ like my S4. About 15 mins. later, one of the staffers beckoned me. Orlando had done his magic! He showed me the ‘old parts’(yep, the mini-usb, etc.) and, get this, had even replaced the camera because the glass was heavily scuffed. *My phone was repaired AND improved!* «The TEP covered everything», he added, smiling, as he handed me back my S4. Frankly, I was expecting a song-and-dance, an insurance form to fill out, me being dragged, kicking and screaming, to the display cases to fork out several hundred for an unnecessary ‘upgrade’ and heavy-grief over the ‘moisture’… but no… Here at Sprint(Jamaica) I got treated to «Nuttin’ But Love». Thankyou Sprint!
