My family and I dined there last night. We had the chicken marsala, chicken parmesan, and the filet. The display of the food was beautiful. The salads were outstanding. But when it came to the main dishes the marsala and the filet were… Ok. The chicken parmesan was amazing though! Our server was very nice and attentive but(not our servers fault) the main dishes took so long i think they had to go kill the cow. The staff is extremely friendly and the rooms upstairs are beautiful. I wish the food was better but it is definitely something to experience once.

Relaxing patio, covered with vines and classical music in the background. Chicken Jerusalem was delicious. Ended up putting the sauce from Jerusalem on the“fish of the day,” which was subpar until the sauce was added. Friendly service, everything was clean, historic little spot.

We stayed one night and it was very unique experience. The hotel was once a hospital which had a sad ghost story. If you like to hear unique story, this is a very good choice. The owner’s two dogs are serving as front desk boys who say«Hello» to you. We had our breakfast at the balcony of the second story and enjoyed the view of the town at the same time. Things are in general pretty decent.

Never have I stayed at a hotel this awesome. No TVs in the rooms which I love! All rooms themed and beds more comfortable than my own. The owner and his family are some of the nicest people I’ve met. With smiles that warm hearts that make you feel safe. I don’t normally like staying anywhere I don’t call home, because with my insomnia and my two year old I just prefer to be home, but staying at this hotel felt like home. Literally some of the best sleep I’ve ever had. How many hotels do you know of that has a basket of toys? This would be the only one I know of! While I was getting ready to head out the door, I turn around and my two year old is gone, with a panic I rush down stairs to find him playing with the amazingly, understanding staff, who went above and beyond when it comes to customer service. Don’t even get me started on the food! Charlie’s crazy chips are amazing, we had breakfast both days we stayed, hash browns to DIE for. I’m a huge biscuits and Garvey lover, and I could drink their gravy, it is that good. As a server for 12 years I’m extremely picky about my service, and honestly the woman who served us were better than I am! There are journals in every room, so make sure you read the love that was left behind, and leave some love for the next guest to find. Thank you to Charlie and his family for making us feel like we were apart of it.

Had breakfast here and it was worth the wait. It was probably the best tasting breakfast I’ve had! I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true. It’s a one of Jamestown’s most notable buildings for sure. Over 100 years old. We got to look at the rooms upstairs and were amazed! Beautiful rooms! Awesome restrooms and showers. We picked our favorites and will be staying there in the future. I will be eating there everytime I pass through for sure!

Fun old sturdy western hotel with a warm feeling. It can creak and be a bit noisy, but I’m good with that. It’s nice appointed, the rooms are decent sized and a very nice bath. Little to hues here and there makes it special. And while this may be controversial, they need to get televisions. Pony up for direct TV. I want a little ESPN, law and order or Fox News. I’m a moderately wealthy middle aged white dude. That’s what Spenders want! But I’d defiantly stay here again!

We stayed there on Halloween night, and had dinner and drinks with the live band playing. The dinner was delicious and the ambiance was really nice. The room(#7) was really cute. completely redone, and the bed was soooo comfortable! The only suggestion i have for them. is maybe a shelf and some towel racks. :) We really enjoyed hanging out on the balcony overlooking the town, some comfy seats out there. Another minor detail. :) we are early birds, and went down for breakfast at about 6:15 am… breakfast was supposed to start at 6:00 but there was no one there. Anywhere. lol so we just went down the street to Pete’s. Which was an awesome breakfast! I am giving a full 5 stars because those are minor issues, and i would TOTALLY stay there again!

We thought from the reviews that we would have a great experience. Well, the service was terrible. We tried the prawns and chips which were 6 large prawns, but they were so salty we could not finish eating them. The coleslaw was fine. We tried the chicken breast caprese. It was very messy and over powered with sauce. Definitely would try a different spot if we return to Jamestown.

Spent the day in Jamestown and selected this location for lunch. This was due to the fact its an historic site and we were invited to look around the rooms upstairs. The manager was gantastic. He told me of all the ghost stories from the standpoint of an owner, as i used to run haunted buildings myself. The food was great and the staff were always available. I am sure we will stop in again when visting.

I’d like to give a high 5 to the kitchen staff last night, our dinner was superb !!! I had the Filet Mignon, it was perfect! Tender and juicy. My husbands meal was perfect and well, no left overs here! The waitress was nice, and our meals were in served in no time at all. We eat at the Jamestown Hotel probably once a month because we like the staff, food and the atmosphere. I just thought the service and food last night were worth saying thank you to whom ever made it a 10…

A LUNCH bargain! This is the second time we’ve visits this place. The first time was just to try out the awesome selection of craft beer they have on tap. Plenty to choose from. Today we went for lunch. What a bargain! I ordered the fish sandwich and my wife had the BLT. Massive portions! You would think lunch menu would be a smaller portion compared to a dinner serving but it wasn’t the case. I don’t know of anywhere you can get a real fish sandwich with fries for under $ 11! They use actual beer out of the tap for the breading and three HUGE pieces of fish which make it almost impossible to close your sandwich yummmmmm! Great tasting fries as well. My wife said the breading would be perfect on deep fried pickles and they went in the kitchen and came out minutes later with a sample bowl o them! Now that’s awesome service! I would’ve taken pic of the fish sandwich but couldn’t stop eating. Got a pic of ½ the BLT, fries, and pickles. Our bill with both entrees plus sodas was under $ 25! Best deal in town I’ve come across yet! They are not out to gouge your wallet for sure. Oh yeah, and only $ 4 for draft beer– you can’t find that anywhere these days! Thank you Jamestown Hotel, we will help spread the word and we will be back.

We decided to give the restaurant a second chance after a disastrous dinner shortly after they opened. Sadly, last night’s dinner was equally disappointing. We all had a chicken dish and each one was prepared in a very strange way. The chicken Marsala was very weak in taste and contained bones rather than just the breast. The chicken parmigiana should have been renamed chicken mozzarella and also contained bones and way more cheese than a pizza. The third chicken dish was bland and covered with an over abundance of sauce. The clam appetizer was a disappointment as well. One thing we did enjoy was hearing the music drifting from the little club next door. A nice addition to our otherwise mediocre meal! Wish that I could recommend this restaurant as a good option for dinner but I think its saving grace is the outdoor patio where a beer & a burger might be nice on a sunny day.

The hotel has been beautifully redone– took the new owners 2 years. Period furniture but nice modern bathroom. We stayed in #5 with 2 bedrooms and a connecting bathroom. It’s very quiet with no phones or TVs, and even live music next door. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and it was great! Large portions of high quality, moist chicken. Such a treat to be on veranda with our kids even in March.

This hotel has a massive case of bedbugs. They travelled home with me in my suitcase and infested my house. The guy playing saxophone at dinner made me want to kill myself. The food was terrible. I ordered a hamburger, it was mushy and gross. To add insult to injury, the toilet wouldn’t flush properly after I expelled the contents of my stomach. This is the worst hotel in the history of flophouses.

A delightful find here in Jamestown. They had been in pre-open mode just 26 days and gave us a great rate on a delightful room with a nice comfortable bed and a huge shower. Everyone was super friendly and we slept great. The restaurant served a fantastic roasted chicken and garlic mashed potatoes although the side veggies were just so so.
