This is gorgeous. I stumbled upon this by accident and fell in love with it. It’s quiet and relaxing and definitely worth the drive. You get the experience that you really want. If you can fish, this is a great place to go fishing :) If you can’t, it’s a nice place to watch people get excited when they catch a big fish!

A truly beautiful place, near the Tecate border, remote and stunning. What keeps me coming back is the quality people here. The entire lake staff are real class acts. The dedication of Lori is unmeasurable, she always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude despite the hour in the day or the sweltering heat or down-pour!, people… this is a WOMAN! A real working woman. I love the Spartan surroundings and LACK of amenities, this keeps the fake fisherman out. I LOVEANDRESPECTTHERULES, Catch and release, barbless hooks, no meat-hunters here!!! I cannot stand people who keep bass… it’s wrong. Its clean, no litter bugs here, I will correct a person for not picking up after themselves, with a quickness.

Fun and casual way to spend the day. Nice drive too. Get away from the city!

This was the place where I caught a delecious bass. I couldnt eat it though becasue its only catch and relaese here. It is hell of expensive to fish here but on a good day it is more than worth the money and the wait. Basically this lake is only open to a limitied amount of people so that it doesnt get overfished. It used to be one of the best until the fires. Now its making a come back, or so I hear. On a single trip within 6 hours I caught over 100 bass. No lie. Happens all the time here. They have northern bass and they are smaller but put up agppd fight. You dont need any skills to fish here. Its a good lake to take some one getting into bassn.
