Great food. I tried an appetizer that was basically a boiled egg inside a sausage ball, deep fried. It was so amazing that I would gladly cage fight a silver back gorilla to get another one. The waitress was pretty cute too. I think she was in to me. I told her my girlfriend was my sister. My girlfriend wasn’t impressed. Altogether great experience. The atmosphere makes you feel as though you could be in Ireland although there was no one passed out in a booth and no fights broke out.

Ate here late one night with a business partner. The appetizers were good as was the service and of course the Guinness on tap. We both ordered the Shepherds pie and I have to say, for a traditional Irish dish, it was dry and just edible. If we had been less hungry I am sure we would have sent it back. Instead we started adding butter to the dish to introduce some added flavor, moisture and salt. In watching how they prepared our meal, I did see that they literally microwaved the mash potatoes before combining the meat and putting it into the ovens. Usually when you see restaurants using microwaves to prep food, it is a good indicator that you may not be dealing with«fresh». Am I being overly harsh… it is after all a bar /restaurant… maybe??? However, being an Irish person, I expected more. Like I said earlier, the service was good, the atmosphere was nice and the Guinness on tap excellent. Next time I’ll just order a baked potato and a few pints of Guinness — the perfect Irish meal. :-)

This Irish bar is so cool and great that it has to have two names. great beer selection and service. Good downtown location and authentic Irish look

Seriously good fish and chips! Great service, and really great fish, cooked perfectly. Not sure about the chips, I got fries/cole slaw instead.

For a Pub, excellent! The Bunk burger with sausage, provolone & pretzel bun was mouth watering. Loved the cranberry & walnut slaw, one of a kind. The staff was on the ball & friendly. And as bonus there was an excellent live band playing on a Wednesday night! Not to mention a venue with a lot of character. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Waitress is great. The twice baked potato was not! It tasted like half fresh and half fake. It’s not in the skin… needs salt blah. The French onion soup was bland. The shrimp on the rock was awful. The fish and chips were soggy. The place needs someone who can cook, blend flavors, season, and so much more.

BEST Reuben I’ve ever had! Friendly staff, great service, and wonderful ambience. Husband said the fish fry was outstanding as well. If we ever pass back through Janesville we will certainly stop by!

I’m a sucker for old fashioned bars. Nice and dark with wood tables and intimate booths. This place has all of that. Good drinks, great food. Extremely packed on St Patrick’s day, but that’s too be expected.

O’Riley and Conway’s is my favorite place in Janesville. They created a comfortable, traditional Irish setting with private wooden booths and classic old photos of the city. Their beer list is by far the best in Janesville. This is the only spot in downtown Janesville that I like to go. I give it my highest recommendation. You need to check it out!

This is a special shout out to Austin Elite Jeremy S. What a guy! Not the least bit presumptuous or pretentious and definitely doesn’t walk around with a thesaurus in his back pocket. In his honor, I’ll write this review in his voice. Affable, receptive, cordial service in a paradigmatic Anglo Celtic drinkery. They serve a voluminous selection of Irish, Continental and American beers. The bartendresses didn’t have a particularly well informed knowledge of the products they were serving, but they were quite generous in lavishing tastes of beers on tap and were magnificently attentive to our needs. The menu is more in line with the sports bars of this land, but there are several traditional Irish items available. I felt the bar was kind of quiet for a Friday night, but the folks in attendance were a younger, friendly, more subdued set. I promise I actually talk like this. I’m writing my dissertation. I’m Jeremy.

Holy cow! What great food! I decided to come with my mother and sister here on Mother’s Day and the food was fantastic. Really really good burger that came on a pretzel bun. Puts Culver’s and AJ Bombers to shame. Moms and sis decided to get the shepherds pie and also enjoyed it. Only reason I deducted one star was due to the service. Our waitress either seemed bored or extremely tired. Either way, wasn’t proper customer service. Still, I’ll be sure to come back to get one of the best burgers in the area and maybe have a pint.

You can’t go wrong if you want a nice place to sit down and enjoy a meal with a friend or some after work drinks. The food is a little bit above average when it comes to bar food, the drinks are pretty good too. On weekends they have live bands that will show up and play. However, they don’t really have a stage area, so the bands set up in various spots that can make it a little awkward if you’re trying to get around. The bathrooms have always been clean and well maintained, which tells me that the kitchen is probably clean too. I would recommend this for a night out.

This was recommended by someone we thought would like good food. Boy was he right. The best fish fry we have had in WI in 16 years living here. Very good ST

A super cute and cozy place. I’d give it five stars for ambiance(clean, nicely decorated, dim lighting done right, live music that was noticeable but not overbearing, etc.). If I had gone there for the purposes of hanging out at a bar, I’d have been really happy. I went for dinner, though, and my food was just so-so. I ordered the chicken and chips, touting beer-battered chicken tenders and a choice of side — I went with mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked well but the batter lacked flavor and fell off the second you cut into the meat. The mashed potatoes were incredibly bland — I don’t think there was any seasoning(even salt) and I ended up having to add a bunch of butter to make it palatable(usually I eat my mashed potatoes plain). The chips were homemade and were actually fantastic(and were chips in the American sense). I had figured they meant chips to be fries, and that was the one side unless you specified otherwise. I’m glad they showed up on my plate, though, as they were the best part about my meal. The food on my friends’ plates looked great and they seemed happy with their choices, so I think mine was just a case of ordering the wrong thing on what seems to be a decent menu.

We went here for dinner and drinks and were very impressed. Starting with drink selections, I have rarely been so impressed with the variety of top shelf drink choices. The wine list was more than adequate for my companions discerning tastes and the list of premium whisky’s and scotch’s was better than any I’ve seen outside of a major metropolitan city. To top it all off prices were more than reasonable. We tried their version of scotch eggs for an appetizer and we’re happy with them except I would request the sauce on the side in the future, it was a bit overwhelming in flavor drizzled over them. Dinner came and once again were very happy. I had the Irish Stew which I would definitely order again; perfection seasoned with no need even for salt or pepper, and with the right ratio of meat to vegetables. My wife had the shepards pie and it was good also, pretty par for the course for a shepards pie. Our friend had the chicken sandwich with rasher bacon also highly recommended. Soups and side salads were also of excellent quality and clearly prepared in house. The service was also of a top notch quality. The waitststaff was thoroughly attentive to our need a without being annoying. All considered an easy five star review and we will definitely be returning.

I went to dinner here with my family last week. We had a party of 8 and they were perfectly accommodating. Our service was great. The server was friendly, polite, and our orders arrived in a timely fashion. I ordered the Irish Fish and Chips. I loved it. The fish was cooked wonderfully and great quality. The chips were clearly made in house and I loved them. Some of my family members had the Shepards Pie. They said it was delicious, and an excellent dish. Everyone was very happy with their meals and drinks. If you are looking for a pub that has classy, yet casual atmosphere I’d indefinably recommend coming here. It’s certainty a step up from many of the cheaper, dive bar-esque places in town.

Great selection of on tap beer and not all of them are IPA’s which is nice for a change as a dark beer drinker. Ordered the black bean soup which was very good and vegetarian safe. Also had the Fish & Chips — the fish was fresh the way it is supposed to be and beer batter was delicious. Also had a mahi-mahi fish taco which contained a generous serving of fish. Service was super friendly and restaurant is full of cute nooks and crannies and sparkling clean.
