So glad we found this place while driving south on 95! We shared a pulled pork and a brisket sandwich. Both highly recommended. They also have a full bar(on weekend nights I think?) as well as live music. Our waitress Beth was wonderful and the owner was so friendly. Do yourself a favor and sample this establishment.

Last evening stopped at above restaurant and was beyond pleased. The service was friendly, yet very professional. But the food was the show stopper. My grandson had the brisket sandwich and claimed it was the best he ever had. I would recommend the snow crabs, the taste was sweet and the order large. My compliments to both the owners and staff. We are definitely going to stop on our way back to Florida. Carole\Wells Beach, Maine

Serendipity on I 95 enroute to Florida. We had discovered Carolina BBQ and Chicken on a previous trip. Glad I checked Unilocal,as the Emporia VA location is closed due to fire. Wilson’s BBQ is in Jarratt, VA about 5 minutes off Exit 20. Don’t be disheartened and think you’re lost. It’s a very small town so persevere and cross the railroad tracks. I had the pulled pork plate and my fiancé had the brisket, both were delicious. Specials of the day included low country boil and smothered pork chops. It was Saturday night and a sharp dressed R & B band was playing in the courtyard 8 – 12. If we didn’t have miles to go before we sleep, we would have sprung for the $ 10 cover. Highly recommended. As my Dad always said, «you get more bang for your buck in the South.»

If you don’t stop and have brisket, you’ll be sorry you missed out. Delicious sandwich, side and peach cobbler alamode. We had fries and onion rings. Also brisket cheese steak sandwich was awesome.

When traveling south on 95, set your GPS and appetite for Wilson’s. You will not be disappointed. The mother and daughter waitress team treated me like a member of the family. One of the locals recommended the Buford T. Justice brisket sandwich. After devouring this delicious creation of brisket, onion, and jalapeño I heartily endorse this selection. The macaroni and cheese was down home and almost like grandma’s. Please save room for their homemade desserts or take something to go. I hope to stop again on my way back north.

If you like BBQ and you don’t stop here. You’re nuts. We stopped after a long drive from Upstate NY on our way to spring break with the kids. Very close to 95. The Pitmaster knows what he’s doing period. Best brisket I’ve ever had. Clean, kid friendly, and nice staff.

Passing through VA looking for a Sun Morning breakfast stop. Luckily we stumbled on Wilson’s BBQ… Great Bloody Mary with Bacon, thought we would do breakfast, but the BBQ looked too good. A+++++

Excellent service and food. We each had the beef brisket sandwich, with sides of onion rings and mashed potatoes. Easy to find off of 95.

Service was great and friendly. Restaurant was very clean and neat. As for the food, WOW! I had the Cubano sandwich with beer battered onion rings and my mouth was thanking me! The food is amazing and full of flavor! I’ll be back when I’m in the area.

A Hidden Gem! Stop by if you’re near exit 17 on 95! I had a burger with cheddar and bacon(no bun), and baked beans and mashed potatoes! It was absolutely amazing! My coworker had the meatloaf with baked beans and mashed potatoes, and he said it was the best meatloaf he’s ever had!

We were driving from Florida back home to NY through I95, and it was around 8pm on a Monday and we needed to stop to eat. It was pouring out, which made for an anxiety provoking drive, and we knew we had a few more hours to go until we got to a hotel. My husband searched Unilocal and we were so grateful to find Wilsons BBQ! They were one of the few places that were not chain food, which was open late. The Unilocal directions are incorrect. You take the road straight pass over the tracks until you see it on your right. You cant miss it since the town is pretty desolate. This place was huge for a small town independent restaurant. The waitresses were amazingly sweet and we had a nice chat, since they had never been to NY before. We started out with fried pickles, my husband got pulled pork sandwich. That was excellent. I got the brisket platter. It was really good but very fatty. Its not something I usually have(I am used to it chopped up) I also had a side of mac and cheese which to me was nothing special. I enjoyed the dessert which was a special cake they put holes in it so that caramel sauce gets in there and top it with heath bar crumbles. Definitely stop in on your road trip. Its not far from the highway and beats the boring fast food chain places.

We basically ended up here thanks to Unilocal. We wanted to hit a local BBQ place on our way to NC and found this place. It’s a little bit off of 95 across from some run down garage. Parking is off to the side of the building. We were one of two parties in there on Saturday afternoon. Food was pretty good. A little on the pricey side, though. Not sure if they’re catering to locals or to travelers here. It seems they have live music at night. Not sure if they reinvent themselves into a roadhouse when the sun goes down. I hope they stick around because I’d go back again.

Such a huge disappointment. We were on our way to Baltimore and decided to try this place due to all the great reviews. I have never had a bad meal thanks to Unilocal, until now. We arrived a bit late(around 8pm) so we expected either a limited menu or longer wait time. My wife and I both ordered the baby back ribs. After a fairly long wait(as expected) the food arrived. Once the waitress prefaced the presentation with«If the ribs aren’t warm enough for ya, let me know and we can throw em back on the grill for y’all.» I should have known what was in store. Not only were the ribs barely room temperature but they reeked of lighter fluid. Mostly out of curiosity we decide to take a bite anyway and the awful chemical taste of the lighter fluid was accompanied by charred and burned grease. The Mac and cheese was bland and dry. The hush puppies were hard and tasted like soap. Even the cold slaw was extremely watery and tasted only of vinegar. The waitress was very apologetic and offered to take off the ribs. As a matter of fact she even brought us out a plate of their famous brisket(which ironically was my second choice) in an attempt to redeem themselves. Let’s just say I was set on not writing this bad review until after I tasted the brisket. It was all full of fat and slimy. The flavor was as if you dipped a marshmallow in lard and then set it on fire. As we were leaving what appeared to be the owner came running with a piece of their Holy Cow cake which I’m still working up enough courage to tase. #Yelpfail

Wow! On a business trip, driving in the middle of nowhere(to me) and I look on Unilocal for a lunch spot. Bam! Wilsons BBQ. Gets good reviews so we pull off highway and a few turns later we are there. What a surprise. Clean. Friendly. Awesome food. I had ribs and my colleague had. A brisket sandwich. We both were very pleased with the quality and quantity. A definite MUST stop and eat place if you are close.

Awesome place! Super friendly people and delicious BBQ. Everything we tried had a nice smoky flavor but still super moist. Outta towners just stopped here b/c the reviews and it lived up to it. Make a stop while traveling 95!!!

This is a super find right off of I95!!! Highly recommended. our meals were so delish! Wings, fried chicken, pork. other items like apps, small/large ‘sammiches’, and brisket avail too. We were able to sit and order right away. Our waitress was a local, very friendly. She shared the history of the restaurant, and about the town(we asked). Our food to a bit, but when it arrived, it was worth it. You could tell from the temp, and crunch that it was freshly made!!! And the flavors. party in my mouth!

This place was absolutely fantastic. The wait staff was awesome, the food was amazing and it was probably the best stop we made on our road trip. Boyfriend got the full rack of ribs and they were legit.

We make a point of stopping at Wilson’s every year on our vacation. It’s honestly worth it in every way. We were pleasantly surprised by the new location. It’s clean, updated and trendy. Comfortable location with more seating and an outdoor section. The brisket sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had — it melts in your mouth with the perfect sauce on top. Even though it’s almost impossible, save room for dessert. The creamsicle pie is light and refreshing and the perfect offset to the BBQ. The baked beans are delicious. To quote my husband«off the chain». It’s worth the 5 min detour off 95 to go there. Enough said.

The brisket sandwich was delicious, and the service warm and friendly. We were even able to score the last piece of the Holy Cow cake, which lived up to its name. This was a great stop for us off the deadly dull 95 corridor between Virginia and NC. We will be back!

It’s a half mile from exit 20 on I95 parking was easy identification of building was easy. Nice inside old building but refurbished. Food was great peppy pig was delicious, the jalapeños added to didn’t overwhelm but it was a lot of food. My wile had the ribs they were very good. Bbq sauce tangy and tasty ribs had the smokey taste but not to strong.

Super yummy and the staff is so nice. My hubby’s brisket was very moist and the dipping sauce provided was really tasty(tangy and sweet). The mashed potatoes had stuffing seasoning or something in them and were delicious. My girls enjoyed the Mac and cheese and hush puppies. I had a pork sandwich. Just be aware that the restaurant is a half mile or so further down the road than the Unilocal directions state.

I have had(and loved) all of their barbecue offerings; so tonight I tried the flounder special. It was delicious! The hand-dipped batter was light and flaky and everything came piping hot. Love this place!

Second visit for the new location. Both times have been excellent. The Bacon Cheddar Brisket kicks Butt. Butt so does the Peppy Pig. Friendly staff, Big portions and good food. Our waitress did an excellent job taking care of us. She was Purty too. No complaints here.
