Yep, no matter where I travel or where I go, I try Chef’s Salads I must admit that Madeline’s wins thumbs up for their Chef Salad, and they will leave the onions off if you choose. I usually get with no cold cuts(which are amazing on their Tukey Robin sandwich)… and blue cheese dressing on the side. YUM! YUM! YUM!!! A must try!

Madeline’s is a gem in Jasper, GA. Gerard and Hector are Godsend. Their arrival in Jasper stirred a trend for other restaurateurs in the area to bring the quality of their food up and their imagination for excellent menu and preparation a little bit more exciting and well done.

Excellent food and pleasant service! Great place to go for lunch. My favorites are the tomato bisque and the Yolanda sandwich. Cakes are to die for, and huge slices, so share with a friend.

I went to this bakery hoping to get some food, instead I was condescendingly & rudely treated. Not very smart for business.

The restaurant is obviously undergoing renovations. The bakery weas non-existent. The«gift shop» was a small room, filled with mostly kitschy schlock, that served as a(temporary?) entrance to the dining area. The dining space windowless, airless and overly pretentious in décor. Despite the fact that the space was nearly empty at lunch, wee were seated right next to the ongoing construction near the(coming?) bakery area. Right at my back was a huge garage door that led us to believe that the space’s former inhabitant was an auto-repair shop. Noisy, dusty and unattractive. To ass further to the bizarre atmosphere, our linen-draped table was immediately covered with a strip of butcher paper whisked from a large roll by the waiter. Apparently, the staff believes guests are too slovenly to be trusted with the linen. The food was equally unremarkable except for an excellent lobster bisque. Despite the other glowing reviews(perhaps written before the recent rehab job), I doubt that we’ll return. There are too many good restaurants in the area.

My mom and dad live in Big Canoe and we had to go «to town» so they suggested Madeline’s. Pretty sure every time I come back to visit I am going to make them take me here. Fantastic blue cheese steak sandwich and chicken and sausage gumbo(both specials of the day). The sandwich was so big my dad and I both had to take half of it home. We were so full but the cakes had to be tried and it did not disappoint! We wanted to try the chocolate drizzled bacon but we were way too full. The little gift shop has super cute gifts and if I weren’t broke, I would’ve bought a scarf and a purse. Such a good decision to go here!!!

We had dinner at Madeline’s Café and Bakery tonight and it was superb. For appetizers I had the Sweet Vidalia Onion Tart and my husband had Korean BBQ. Both were delicious. We had the salad with pears, spinach, pistachios and a bacon dressing — outstanding. My husband’s trout in parchment and my vegetarian entrée of quinoa and butternut squash were both top notch cuisine. My only complaint would be that we did not leave enough room for dessert, which also looked delicious — well, next time we will plan for that! The ambiance is charming and cozy with a lovely gift shop attached.

Wow! I hope if you find yourself near Jasper you will stop by and have lunch here. Today I had a meatloaf sandwich. Which could have been completely disgusting but it was in fact; amazing!!! It was on their special but their menu looked great as well! Definitely a place not to miss!

This is exactly the kind of breakfast place I hope to find on a trip to a small town. Great atmosphere, friendly, and the frittatas were incredible. These people are serious about making good food.

I am giving this place five stars because a) the food really was very good, and b) it is totally unexpected to find a place like this in Jasper, GA. Actually it is becoming more common, as people who know how to cook decide to get out of the rat-race of big city life. We had an eggplant panini. It was *fantastic*! It was not what you would expect, in that it came in a pastry shell similar to what you would expect for a mini-quiche. The shell was to die for, and the contents were similar to a quiche, but with less egg. You guys probably know this, but when you cook eggplant, you have to do something with it or it can end up with a bitter taste. We cut it in slabs and coat it with salt and let it sit for a few hours before rinsing it and then cooking. Many times, restaurants just cook up the eggplant without treating it first, but these guys know what they are doing — the eggplant was perfect. Anyway, overall a great meal. I knew there was something special about the place when I walked in the door and saw an amazing selection of cheeses in the refrigerator case — not what you would expect in a small town. As far as the cakes go, they looked amazing — I did not try one, but if looks are any indication, you would not go wrong. Oh — and another thing — one of the chefs came to the dining room and struck up a conversation with people, talking about what they were enjoying, and about the restaurant in general. This is always a good sign — someone who is not afraid to come and face the public. Great job guys.

We rode up to Madeline’s for breakfast on our motorcycle on a hot summer Saturday. The restaurant is very nice inside — great décor — a little gift shop off on the side with nice gift-type items — things you don’t find in a typical gift shop — like violet candy from France! The food was done very well. Our server suggested a cinnamon roll while we debated on what to order for breakfast — it was incredible! I had the E. Church Street Omelet with a side of cheese grits. The eggs were cooked perfectly — the grits were absolutely out of this world! We will definitely be going back!

AMAZING! I have no idea how new this place is… but I wish I had known about it before. I went yesterday with a friend who had heard about it. I got the tomato bisque and chicken salad, and she got the cream of asparagus soup with the egg salad and asparagus sandwich. Best tomato bisque I have ever had. The cream of asparagus soup was also pretty amazing. I didn’t try her sandwich but mine was good. It had a rosemary dill sauce. It wasn’t overpowering– not that I think a rosemary dill sauce could be– but it was good. Cozy atmosphere. They have apparently already had to expand because of business. There was a a group of about 12 women there– so they can accommodate that. We didn’t order cake. But I will go back to order cake. The cake slice was as big as… a Bible, maybe a Bible. VERYIMPRESSIVE, and great presentation. Someone asked me recently about a place for a wedding cake near Big Canoe and I didn’t know of anything– I would now recommend checking into this place. I should also note that it is not well marked. The address listed here got me there with my GPS, and they are located in the shopping center– at least I think it was a shopping center because it looked like one– either before or after the Fred’s depending on which way you are driving. The building is a yellowish color. I pulled up in front and only knew what it was because there was a small parking sign.

Since they opened, my wife has told me numerous times how great it was. She finally took me there and, needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. I had the tomato bisque and the reuben. The bisque was some of the best that I had ever had and the reuben was delicious. I was told that I had to try the cakes also. I had the strawberry cake, which was moist and delicious. It was an all around great meal. I’m happy that Jasper finally has a decent place to get a good lunch.

If you are driving down 515 and happen to be near Jasper Ga. you may want to take a detour into the town and find this little gem of a restaurant. It’s tucked away in a small strip mall. Inside are two dining areas, small but charming. They serve the typical lunch fare: salads, soups and sandwiches but all are homemade and wonderfully creative. I had their vegetarian frittata with a small salad and both were exceptional. Save room for dessert because the homemade cakes are three layers high and delicious.
