Food was gross! Service was horrible. Cock roach ran across the floor while we were there. There was a problem with the food instead of the server trying to be helpful and fix the problem, he had a attitude with us. Will not be back and do not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Would give it no stars.

Had an amazing family dinner while dining in Alabama. Being from Texas we are used to Tex Mex however the food here was very authentic! Started the meal with a blackberry margarita. For an appetizer we split a bowl of queso, which was the traditional white«cheese dip», very delicious! For dinner, a couple of us had enchilada dinners, a grande burrito and the appetizer queso with beef, chicken and shrimp with tortillas and sour cream. Overall the meal was great, large portions and very authentic! Not to mention our fantastic service from Luis, who even took the time to discuss his hometown with us and make small talk that was welcome! Overall, 5 stars, especially for Mexican food in Jasper!

Oh it tastes like a tv dinner! I’ve been dragged here a couple times and just can’t stomach it. Blech.

This place does have an air of authentic Mexican food which I really enjoy about the place. They had some unique dishes on the menu, one of which I tried, the war head beef taquitos. They reminded me of four huge beef egg rolls cut in half. They were served with a cheese and enchilada sauce(which they explained to me as a vegetable sauce) lettuce, Pico, and sour cream. It was good but not sure if I would get it again. Best part of the meal was the free salsa which was nice and spicy.

When traveling on Hwy 78 through Alabama you don’t get much of a selection of eating places. A friend recommended Pericos so we decided to try it. It is a little way off of 78 but, well worth the extra drive. We enjoyed the chicken fajitas with all the trimmings. The service was very good and the surroundings were very comfortable. We will stop again if we are going through there in the future.

Usually I love Pericos but tonite I ordered the tacos and they have CHEAPEDOUT on the taco shells. They always had the best corn tortilla shells and now they’re hard and stale… Stop ordering crap or we’ll take our business to CABOS!!!

The food here is fantastic! The bean soup alone is worth the trip. They have expanded but nothing has changed quality wise. The décor is minimal and so are the furnishings so no 5 stat rating. But all that matters to me is good food and great service!

Wow, I can’t believe I’m the first person to review Perico’s. The place is always crowded and it’s the favorite restaurant of many of my friends. Well, it is Jasper… not the most connected place on earth. Anyway, I’ve been to Perico’s over a hundred times the past two decades, and I can’t remember a time when it wasn’t there. The restaurant has gone through several expansions and even opened a new building since it first opened. The food has stayed consistent as well, and you can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu. Along with this, I don’t think new menu items appear very frequently, or maybe I just haven’t noticed them. The atmosphere is OK, not great; they have generic mariachi music playing and a few decorations. Like I said, I know several people who would literally eat Perico’s for every meal(and many of them come close to this). But I can’t give it a five-star review. The food is very good, but not spectacular, and the rest of the restaurant is just average. Still, it’s the best Mexican food in Jasper, and in all of Walker County by extension.
