Very nice community hometown hospital. The hospital is unlike others which have standard vinyl flooring and white walls. There are flowers/plants all around. The second floor, Medical-Surgical, has wood floors. Very friendly staff. The nurses are wonderful. For a small-town hospital, it is very busy and growing. They are currently expanding the ER and ICU. Quick service is given in the ER. The nurses and staff on the floor are friendly and caring. Mercy, the mother company of St. Mary’s, has joined St. Mary’s and Baptist hospitals in the region. With a strong Christian foundation, they care not only for the health of the patient, but the emotions and spirit of the patient as well. The families are included in the care of the patient. When the discharge a patient, they already have called for follow-up appointments so the patient doesn’t have to do that when they get home. They also work with home-health and other agencies for continuation of care when you leave if it is needed. Follow-up later is great afterwards. From nurses, doctors to receptionists and lab staff, everyone is wonderful and I’m very comfortable being a patient at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City.
