We tried this pizza place on a whim. We had heard mixed reviews and wanted to find out for ourselves. It’s a cute little brick building just beyond downtown Jefferson. The traditional Texas star adorns the front door. The dining area is the size of a large living room. There are probably 10 booths and 8 tables. Maybe more. It’s well laid out. The walls are decorated with lovely prayer rugs & platters with Arabic writing. There are a few animal trophies &2 tvs. The menu is traditional pizza place fare with decent prices. We ordered side salads, cheesy bread & pizza. The side salad was just that. Iceberg, tomatoes & shredded cheese. The cheesy bread was light & fluffy with the perfect amount of cheese. The marinara dipping sauce was good. We ordered a bulldog combo pizza. It was great! It had everything you could ask for. Crispy crust. Fresh ingredients. Not too greasy! The staff seemed to be the owners, a married couple. They were kind & met our needs. When we left, they gave us a warm farewell. It’s not fancy, by any means. It’s a small hometown pizza place. It is definitely better than a cheapo $ 5 pizza or a $ 4.99 pizza buffet. Go there. It’s worth it.

Eaten here several times and always had the pizza. It is very good. Good crust and generous toppings. Very laid back place and pretty much seat yourself and serve yourself.

Really quick service and delicious food. The manicotti comes with either marinara or Alfredo sauce. I chose the Alfredo and it was very good. The pizza was crispy and perfectly proportioned with toppings.

This place just isn’t very good. The pizza isn’t made with very high quality ingredients and the combinations lack imagination. Service is also lacking. If you have a choice — eat somewhere else.

Bulldog Pizza is on the main road with limited parking. They have a drive thru which was busy. When you come thru the front door you’re met not by a hostess at a hostess stand, but you’ll see the window to the kitchen to your left where a lady(owner?) is seated at a cash register in the kitchen where they bring out food and cash out patrons. She tells us to take a seat anywhere and told we first must visit the drink station to pour our own drinks. I make an iced tea which was fresh and good and my wife got a Coca-Cola fountain drink We made our way to a back booth. There were two TVs on in the dining room on opposite sides of the room. We were one of about four or five tables who were eating or waiting for food. Menus, napkins, and silverware were already on the table. We didn’t wait very long until someone came from the kitchen to take our order. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs with a side salad and Italian dressing. My wife finally settled on a small meat pizza. She had the choice of thin, regular or deep crust and picked regular hand-tossed. Their menu heavily leans on their pizzas, but trey also have a pretty wide selection of other dishes if you want Italian but don’t want a pizza. Calzones, Stromboli, pastas, lasagna and more populate the menu. As we waited for our dinner to arrive, I watched patrons get up to refill their drinks and they didn’t appear annoyed. They must be locals. I watched a guy come from the kitchen and take orders from the window(right next to customers trying to pay) and take them to their tables. After not too long, our food arrives, though not at the same time. My salad comes first(ok), then my spaghetti and three min later my wife’s pizza. Salad was good. It was a typical side salad in a small plate that you would get anywhere. Lettuce tomatoes and all were very fresh. It came with the dressing in a pre packaged envelope that you tear open. Spaghetti and meatballs were very tasty. After they dished it up, they spread mozzarella on top and baked it — yummy and came with a garlic roll. The pizza was great. My wife gave me a slice. It had pepperoni sausage hamburger and was good! Crust was perfect. So listen, if you’re used to attentive service, don’t come here. But if you want some Italian food, this us a pretty good place. Remember, the pace is slower in Jefferson and it is reflected in most restaurants here I’d suggest you come and slow down, keep your comments to yourself and enjoy the good food. The owners are friendly and caring. Yes, they should hire a person for the dining room, but I enjoyed it.

I ordered a supreme which is my favorite kind of pizza. There was way too much sausage and little amounts of everything else. Sausage was all I could taste. Plus I they gave me thin crust which I didnt ask for. The pizza was not worth the price.

Food didn’t taste fully cooked or not hot enough. Very little service. Terrible lemonade. Do not go there.

Do yourself a favor and visit one of the upscale restaurants like Stillwater Inn and avoid Bulldog. The pizza is soggy and often not served hot and the staff are not friendly and seem to feel that customers are a problem rather than their paycheck. Bulldog leaves a sour taste-and not just in the mouth.

A really great pizza place, a tasty crust and fresh ingredients. One pie to try is the shrimp deluxe with jalapeños. Other offerings are calzones ant other Italian favorites. Daily specials are varied, including chicken fried steak, beef tips, chicken spaghetti etc. A locally owned and operated small town restaurant.
