Bill and Angie are amazing hosts. And friends. My husband and I visit Jefferson every chance we get. We opted for The Captain’s Castle one weekend, because our(then) favorite B&B was booked. We were so much more than pleasantly surprised. We have been back, and will be back again and again. The home is gorgeous. The grounds are magical. The innkeepers are people who are down to earth, unpretentious, friendly and sincere. Accommodations are excellent and the food — you won’t want lunch until late afternoon. It’s that good. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else… at least until we buy our own place there.

Alright… We called and spoke with Bill and Angie just now to take them up on their offer for a weekend plus a dinner at Still Water on them to make our last visit right… We were planning on going Sunday and leave Monday. Bill stated to us since we wrote a negative review he did not know if he should honor what he offered. He stated«Put your self in my shoes, would you want some one coming back, having a free night stay and then writing another bad review?» My answer to that would be: If you want to make it right, take in some constructive criticism, don’t get butt hurt about it, fix the problems that were the problem in the first place and try your best to make the next stay better than the last. Don’t talk about«Boobies» at the table during breakfast, update your website so it is current, state if your business is under renovation or not, work on your people skills and recognize when people are uncomfortable when you keep incessantly talking to them. It’s very simple Bill. At first, it looked as if Bill was not going to honor what he had promised, again. But to our surprise he stated that he guesses that he will honor it… YAY!!! HEGUESSES!!! Uhm… NO Bill. We will NOT come back to your establishment. You have created exactly what you intended. I hope that people see how this is a reflection of how you do business. I hope other people have a better experience than we did for your sake Bill.

We stayed here during the Thanksgiving holidays. When we checked in, we immediately realized that we had stuck gold with this place. My idea of a perfect B&B is the gracious hosts, great breakfast, and comfortable room, and a «down home» feel, and the atmosphere of course. The hosts Angie, and Bill were not only hospitable, they are genuinely wonderful people. They had a couple of rooms open and showed us the rooms to give us a choice on which one we would prefer, you just don’t get that everywhere. The breakfast was delicious and perfect for starting our day and our trip back to Austin. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend getaway, or longer. We had some really great conversations with Angie & Bill, they were just the icing on the cake to our stay at Captain’s Castle and we plan on coming back again and again! Btw…ask about the history of the Captain’s Castle, its very interesting and if you are really interested, Bill & Angie are always up for giving you a tour of the main house :)

What a great experience and place to have it! I had never been to a bed and breakfast and found this place through a recommendation of calling up to Auntie Skinners and asking the lady on the phone which places in town were biker friendly. I booked on line and the process was really easy and they didn’t charge anything to my card at that time. Actually they just took the card number to hold the reservation and we ended up using a different card to pay at check in. No surprises or hidden fees — you are dealing with the owners, not a minimum wage clerk when you check in. The new owners(of a year or so) were both very friendly and nice but also kept their distance when we wanted to be left alone. The house itself has some really neat history about it(that we learned after breakfast before our departure) and it was very clean, warm and welcoming with antique/rich style decorations. We stayed in the cottage, a separate cabin on the property, and we will definitely stay in it the next time we visit Jefferson!!! We also got a quick tour of the house after breakfast and it was really neat to see the other rooms of the house. If you have any questions call — Bill & Angie were great hosts and have a beautiful home. You won’t be disappointed.
