Round Barn Mattresses

TLDR: I highly recommend this shop. The owner is a gem and the prices are hundreds lower than other stores for the same mattresses. Free delivery, free removal of old mattress. No returns.
FULL REVIEW: Shopping here is like knowing about a secret nightclub… you can buy name brand mattresses for hundreds of dollars less than other stores while supporting a local family business. I have purchased two mattress sets here. The first was a $ 300 off-​brand set that lasted 6 years. I just went back for a Sealy Posturpedic set that retails for over $ 800. We paid $ 500 with free delivery and free disposal of our old mattress.
We *had* decided to buy a more expensive set online but it took 3 weeks then came damaged. The immigrant delivery guys didn’t speak English and tried to leave us with the broken box spring without our noticing. It was overall a very nasty experience. That set was $ 1200. After that experience we decided to go back to Round Barn. I used the Round Barn website
to see what sets were available then researched the set we wanted online. Mattress stores sell the same mattresses under different model names but a lot of discount mattress stores use the same discount lines so you can compare with Google. The Sealy beds offered at Round Barn are sold under the same name at other discount mattress stores so you can compare prices and specs online.
On Sunday, we drove from Athens about 30 minutes to Jefferson. The owner showed us the set we wanted and didn’t try to sell us on anything else. He had some helpful advice about choosing a firmer bed. His prices had increased the month before but he immediately honored the former price I had printed off his website. We were done in about 10 minutes and he had it delivered the next day in a simple pickup truck by a very polite pair of young men with an older man supervising.
This store clearly saves money on staff, marketing, rent, etc. so the owner can offer great deals. The cheap sets he sells are so much better than what you can find anywhere else for the same price. He also saves money by not offering returns. If you want a «buy and try» scenario where you can return the bed in 30 – 60 days you should not shop here. I don’t think a small business can afford to offer those type of return policies.

Great selection of mattresses in all price ranges. We got one of the lowest priced ones and the mattress is great. The owner was nice and easy to work with. Excellent delivery and a great bargain over the big box stores.

The experience was pleasant from the sale right to the deilivery. Friendly, helpful people at every turn. It is located in a fairly remote area. Provides a peaceful drive to the store. The building is a fun odity also. You would never suspect the inventory inside. It’s cool to see even if you don’t get a mattress. I found the prices were reasonable.
However, I am not pleased with the product purchased. It’s a Sealy Posturpedic «Settlers Way» king. It’s noticably sagging after 2 years of use. It was sagging after 6 months of use. I’m a big boy so perhaps it’s me but I wish they’d have recommended something that wouldn’t sag for a large person like me. I did meet with them in person to discuss the matresses. I’m dissapointed that I was sold a product that did not hold up.
