Traveling through on our way to New Orleans from Oklahoma we stumbled on this little jewel of a restaurant! Outstanding food, beautiful atmosphere and great service. We will definitely make it a point to stop here again on our twice a year trips to New Orleans!

This is a great restaurant. Everything I’ve ever had here has never disappointed. The duck is tender and the filets are always perfectly cooked. Love the desserts as well. If you’re looking for a special occasion place for holidays or birthdays, this is the best place to celebrate in East Texas.

We really enjoy Stillwater Inn — wonderful food in a nice atmosphere — just what you would expect for a fancy small town restaurant. Is it the best food ever? No, but it’s great. Is it fast service? No, but this isn’t fast food so who cares?
We come with friends for a meal every Valentine’s Day — though that may mean we don’t make it in until May when schedules coordinate. The menu doesn’t change much (I wish they would, though, because I think they have the skill to be more creative than relying on the same menu year after year), but the preparation is good.

This was quite possibly the BEST meal we’ve ever had. We had gone out to a fancy hotel steak place in Dallas the night before for our anniversary, but were spending the weekend in Jefferson. This meal put our Dallas meal to shame. You MUST try this place.

I love everything about Stillwater Inn. The environment is delightful with several different rooms. In the sun room, old Singer sewing machines have been converted into romantic little bistro tables. In the main room, the high ceilings and artwork give you the feel of an elegant big-city restaurant. In the front room, the environment is something a little in between.
The food is outstanding! I’ve been here frequently and have never had a bad meal. The owners are very friendly and the waitstaff knowledgeable. Having lived in San Francisco, I have to say that Stillwater would give most of the better restaurants there a run for their money. If you are in East Texas for only one night, this is the place you must go for dinner.
