The Black Swan

Thoroughly enjoyed our one-​night stay and wish we had time to stay longer! Do not let the price scare you away. The property is beautiful and the service from Darrell and Christi was amazing. The location is prime!!!; the suites are more spacious than the nearby hotels; the happy hour provided in the evening was an exceptional treat; and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely perfect! With the additional perks you get with this B&B, the overall cost is actually lower than the nearby hotels.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Black Swan! We were in the Evergreen Carriage house and loved it! The landscaping was beautiful. There was a huge gardenia bush blooming and it smelled wonderful. The Black Swan has a very nice happy hour, where wine and appetizers are served. They also brought cookies and brownies to welcome us to our room. Breakfast was terrific. I mentioned that I am a vegetarian and they were more than happy to prepare a meat free quiche. The couple that owns The Black Swan are very nice and accommodating. Our room was adjoined to a kitchen, with dining area. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. It was a very quiet, peaceful place to stay. Since I love gardening, I enjoyed looking at the variety of plants around the outdoor swing. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast and look forward to going there again.

We’ve stayed at several properties in Jefferson, mostly B&B’s. All have been adequate. Made a last minute decision to come to Jefferson for a quick one night getaway… stumbled across The Black Swan online. Looked great so we decided to try it out… far surpassed our expectations!
Upon check-​in Darryl greeted us… super nice guy, very welcoming. We arrived in time for happy hour — every afternoon from 5 – 6 there is a little welcome reception with snacks & wine. We sat in rocking chairs on the front porch — perfect location across from the Excelsior Hotel & next to Jay Gould’s train car. Easy walk to restaurants, shops & Auntie Skinner’s. There are two suites on site and two offsite… Darryl showed us the West Wing suite & it was gorgeous! Beautiful property. Other guests were fun to chat with on the front porch. Inside living room, wine bar area & breakfast area are all tastefully decorated, comfortable… just like a home away from home. Lots of cute fall décor touches on display. Within an hour of our arrival we decided to book another full weekend in November. Can’t say enough good things about The Black Swan — they are setting the bar high for other properties in Jefferson!

The Black Swan is the perfect package… Beautiful Bed and Breakfast located downtown Jefferson! Christi is an amazing cook! The breakfast is the very BEST! She and Daryl make your experience here one you will never forget and you will want to come back. The rooms are huge and so beautifully decorated with access to the upstairs balcony. Awesome doesn’t begin to describe all of the amenities:)) They have thought of everything! And Happy Hour at 5:00 each afternoon is so fun and once again great food!!! This is a must for everyone looking for a great weekend getaway!

I stayed at the Black Swan over Memorial Day weekend. I had an incredible experience. The wine bar and food was fantastic! The B&B rooms were just renovated and they paid attention to every detail. down to the luxury bedding, the stocked fridge, the sinful and decadent bread pudding. and last but not least the awesome bubble bath. The food and drink were great and delivered by a wonderful, down to earth host and hostess… Christi and Darrell. I will return!
