** Please note, I did not have a procedure. My mom did, and this review is on behalf of her experience. My mom went in for a standard cataract procedure. Her appt was at 1:10, and she was told not to eat after 6 am. We arrived at 1… And she did not get brought back until after 2. She laid on a gurney for 1.5 hours before they began the procedure. As she laid there, waiting… It was cold, she had not had food or water all day and she said the nurses could not find her veins for the IV. But managed. They haphazardly taped a protective hat on her while hair and her bangs stuck out. She said it was a very awkward. During the surgery, the pain meds she was given to «not feel it» did not work, and when he asked her if she was ok, she said no and then proceeded on. She was terrified. She could feel them prodding at her eye. Needless to say, she did not have a good experience. As the procedure came to an end, the attendant knew she was unhappy and after discussing the follow up agreement with both of us, they went ahead and discharged her without giving her proper time to relax after the procedure. She felt like they didn’t want her back their sharing her experience for others to hear as they were prepping to go in. As she left the place she felt ill and her eye was not feeling great. The post procedure pain is expected and she thought maaaay happen, but the procedure pain was not. All of her friends said this procedure was«painless» and«easy» and she would«feel fine immediately,» but none of that was the case. She is resting now and we have a follow up tomorrow. We did also speak to the on call doctor who was very nice and helped as much as he could over the phone. I hear cataract procedures are the most common surgeries performed each day, but I hope and will have to assume other people have better experiences at this place and elsewhere.
