This place is really great. They have a few small exhibits and some tanks with animals. There are quite a few sculptures that are really cool. There is a small gift shop that sells cards and shark teeth and the like. My friend really wanted to see a wild alligator and the woman working gave us some tips on where to go to spot one, she even lent us some binoculars!

We went on a three hour Kayak tour. 6 of us, and you had to be 12, I think to get your own Kayak. Either way, my 7 year old was riding with me. $ 320 for the family. I was hoping for a great time. I got a little piqued when they insisted my 7 year old needed a paddle, but there was netting on the kayak, and as soon as we got in the water, it was out of the way. When we got to the dock, my 12 year old immediately went to check out the fiddler crabs, stepped in the swamp mud, instantly realized that fiddler crabs weren’t worth sinking in the mud, fell on his butt, and cut his hand on the razor sharp oyster shells. The guide then told us to stay off the swamp beds, because they looked sturdy but were made of mud and had sharp oyster shells. Duh! Wish he would have told us that on the bus. He quickly made friends with us though, pointing out tons of wildlife. He had a biology degree and knew a lot about the local animals. We had shrimp jumping all around us, saw snowy and great white egrets, herons, storks, bald eagles, terns, and sharks. It was fun.
