Great place! Me and my wife just started playing Ticket to Ride couple months ago and we fell in love with the game. We wanted to buy the Pennsylvania expansion set but also wanted to try out other games too. We passed by this place on 611 so many times so we gave it a try. We bought the Pennsylvania set here and they had the Europe version to try out so we sat and played a round. They have a lot of games in storage where you can play at the store for free!(I think you can also rent it). If you like it, you can buy one! What a great deal! Also, the owner(I’m assuming he is) is very friendly and knows just about all the rules to the games. You ask a question to him and he makes a smile where he is sooo happy and thrilled to explain it to you LOL(kinda reminds you of the big bang theory crew) Perfect person to run a game shop! I guess he’s one of those lucky people who makes a living out of something he loves doing. Anyways, it’s been about a month since I bought the expansion set here and finally got to Unilocal to drop a couple of lines.

We turned up at 7th Dimension Games early on a Sunday morning, shortly after they opened. It was amazing to have the place almost to ourselves. The service was amazing, they had really cool product demonstrations throughout the store, the Big Piano and tons of other things to see and do. The kids LOVED it! Getting there early was the way to go — by the time we left a few hours later the place was packed.

My son’s first time here since we are out-of-towners. He says it seems really nice. Definitely larger than most like this. We loved that it is open really late(maybe not according to Philly standards but definitely late compared to Ann Arbor, Michigan standards. We browsed for a bit having arrived after a gaming event. The bright open atmosphere made for great social environment. The sales associate, seemed a little nervous(not sure why), but willingly answered questions and showed a couple of products. We took a calendar and decided this is a place we’ll definitely come back to our next trip to Philly.

We recently moved into town from California. We spent all day looking for a gaming place like this and it’s as good as it gets. They offer a large game play space with a regular and open schedule. Their selection of games is massive, you can find almost anything you are looking for here. The store even tags things with a little«Wil Wheaton Tabletop» item if it’s been featured on the show. We met some incredible people here and the age range is pretty varied. Definitly going back!

I have been coming to this store for a couple of years now to purchase games or check out what is new. I’d like to play a game one day, but I am not the type of person to just sit down with a table of strangers to play a game. Maybe if I get back into paper MTG I will actually start to play games on site. I think the atmosphere is friendly and the way merchandise is displayed is nice and uncluttered.

This place has a large selection of games. Board games, mtg etc. The staffs are friendly once you get to know them and They help explain every thing to you if you have any questions. The prices are reasonable, you get what you pay for. I’m a mtg gamer, so this place is like a gem to me. They sell good individual cards for a good price, however I wish they had more selections of cards. This place never fails to have gamers in there every time I go… A lot of intense gamers = sweat. Lol they should consider putting in a plug in air freshener. Anyways I recommend this place to any gamers! Great spot!

I love this place! The staff is really knowledgeable and very helpful. The prices are exactly what I expect for an independent game store. Sometimes you can find it cheaper on amazon but I like going in and checking out the selection and hearing from someone who has actually played the game before I buy it. I will pay a few extra bucks for that any day.

Large selection of games, friendly knowledgeable staff and there always seem to be gamers playing. BUT, know the average price of what your buying before you buy in this establishment. I purchased a game that sold for $ 57 online and the store charged $ 99.99 for the same game. Now, don’t get me wrong everyone should make a profit but $ 57 vs $ 99 is a tad excessive. And, I could have returned it for store credit but didn’t want to drive the another 30 miles to get there.)0: Caveat emptor!

I wish I could give an extra half star… but I can’t so it’s not on me. I would even consider curving up towards 4 stars but some things bother me enough to not be able to drop that. This is a neighborhood game place… should be very friendly and homey but it often feels corporate, like it’s just a business, not a second home where I can game at leisure. I almost feel more at home playing games in some comic book places and I feel like that seems a little backwards since the sole point of this place is gaming. Yes, game sales is number one, but it’d be nice to feel like playing is the goal. I have had great times here for sure… the staff is friendly and know a lot about the games, but the feeling is always that the bottom line is the dollar. Any store you go in, it’s obvious that money is the objective… I just feel some places hide it better. This place has developed a friendly unit of gamers(specifically MTG in my case) who are warm and welcoming; almost familial. The amount of games found here is amazing but I think I would like to see a bit more in terms of instructional/informative literature. I enjoy spending time here and it’s good to pop in for a casual gaming night… looking to get your money’s worth in terms of prize payout? I’d say it’s a fair place but you won’t often be looking at a huge turnout thus the pool is slightly lowered(and more thinly spread which seems to piss off the real hardcore guys). Like I said… 3.5 stars for sure… maybe even almost four… add more food options and I can definitely give the 4.

7th Dimension doesn’t at all fit my stereotype of a game/hobby store: instead of being dark, crowded and dingy, the store is open and uncrowded, with lots of windows providing natural light; instead of an aloof or condescending staff, the gents at 7th Dimension were helpful and eager to introduce me to the store. They have a great selection of newer and classic board games, all priced in line with what you would expect to pay from most online retailers. I definitely plan on returning, hopefully finding time to attend one of their regularly scheduled open gaming sessions.

Board games, card games, war-gaming, minis — this is a great place for it all.

I am probably not the ideal person to write this review as I am someone who enjoys the occasional board game, not an avid gamer who can even pretend to have a clue about the latest coolest thing in gaming. But I was surprised there was no review here yet for them and wanted to support this excellent local business. We sometimes play with a social group we belong to and hubby had occasionally gone to open gaming nights at 7th Dimensions old location. I was intrigued when they moved to their Old York Rd store near IHOP because whenever I looked in the giant floor to ceiling windows as I drove by there seemed to be lots of fun things going on. We were driving by one recent early Saturday evening and decided to stop in. The room is pleasant — big and open with lots of tables to play games in the center, a huge area set up for miniatures with the stock along the back walls. They carry a nice selection of reasonably priced games, gaming books, miniatures and cards and I plan to do all my game shopping here in the future. The owner is very nice and talked to us awhile when we came in — he told how he plans to fix the ceiling eventually to make the acoustics in the room better. It seems on Saturdays you can bring your own games in to play and some people were ordering food in as well. We got invited to play Arkham of Horror by some friendly folks who didn’t mind educating us noobs — we were surprised to find ourselves still there caught up in an hours long game as midnight approached. Thank goodness they sell candy and Mexican coke to keep ones energy level up. From the couple of times I’ve been and even just driving by and glancing in the ages of people range from kids to grey haired gamers. There are definitely more guys then girls. Oh and fyi– it’s de rigueur to wear a geek chic t-shirt with a funny saying etc — I plan to definitely break out my «Talk nerdy to me» shirt next time we go. So hopefully someone who can provide better insight into the specific types of gaming taking place will write a review here and of course their website has lots of details — but for me it was somewhere to spend a few entertaining hours in a pleasant environment with nice people and Mexican coke as a bonus!
