Not easy to find first time, it’s down the stairs, turn right! You pass an old school shoe shine guy near the stairs. The sushi here is SOSOFRESH! The have great, low priced sushi for lunch. The slices were a little thin, but long, and the rice bed was smaller. The yellowtail tuna was freakishly awesome! Also, I’m not normally impressed by tuna, but it was upscale in flavor. I also got sushi to go and she packed it up on ice for me! This would make a fantastic romantic dinner spot, very cozy.

This place is disgusting it doesn’t even look clean. Yuck I hat chain restaurants and went with someone against my better judgement. I took one taste of the rice which was awful and I was done. Stay Away

Quite literally the worst sushi I’ve ever had. How does one make a California Roll disgusting? Add brown avocado, dry crab and soggy rice. Ugh

I had a wonderful time here, but i cannot give the staff all of the credit — much of that was due to dining with an adorable child and her parents, who i had not seen in some time. Not the finest version of hibachi i have ever experienced, but they did do a very nice job with an extremely rambunctious child. Food was good, not great.

I live close to Jenkintown so it was the only reason I decided to try this place out. Not an expensive place for hibachi so the price was cheap. Food is also not bad. What bothered me was the moment I set my first footstep into the place. The hostess/staff need to learn how to smile and greet customers, act a little more professional. When customers come in, get up from your seat and smile and greet them. Sitting down and saying hello without a smile makes me wonder how you still have your job. If I’m remembering correctly, I think I said«hi, I have a reservation» first. She actually did smile and say good bye when we were leaving, but still sitting down. Not sure why they need to keep the place so dark. it didn’t bother me but just curious… And as the other reviewer mentioned, the cook did turn on the exhaust fan switch with the spatula and then started chopping again. It didn’t bother me too much, but a little bit. Why couldn’t he just use his finger? It’s not like it was too high for him to reach. Will I go back? No. I would pay a little more and go to a little more upscale hibachi. Cheap price drew that group of customers. I didn’t see it but my fiancé happened to see the other table where the customer asked for a take home bag and bagged couple of «dishes» LOL. The acutal dish itself! ! OMG. And the couple that sat in the same table as us kept on burping throughout the whole meal. He had like maybe 4 bottles of beer… If I knew that these are the people that this restaurant drew, I would’ve went somewhere else. Now I know why the hostess was not so much of a greeting person, it’s from dealing with that group of customers. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 only because the food wasn’t all that bad. But dining experience doesn’t only count on food. This restaurant needs to comprehend that. Nope, not going back.

We reserved for private room for birthday party, I called several place for private room but most of place asking for extra charge except this place. The room was big enogh for 22 people with three hibachi table there. Everyone ordered early bird special, price was very reasonably. hibachi chef did lots of tricks and fire show. Great place for big party!

It’s the closest hibachi restaurant to my school, so I tend to go here. But sometimes the food is really salty. The entertainment is always good and on Mondays they have a really good filet special. I must admit I do come here for convenience rather than quality.

Best sushi ever… nothing like some chinese buffet with sushi. I recommend all my friends everyone was happy. They do offer all you can eat for $ 25.

So I have been coming here on and off for years. The quality has gone downhill. My most recent experience was the worst so far. We came in Around 3pm. No one around staff or patrons. Had to almost go into the kitchen after waiting 10 minutes to find someone. There was a very large part in a room by themselves and was told we would have to wait as there is only one cook. OK I’m easy, he was already cooking, how long could it be? We ordered and or salads brought out. FYI, salad dressing is unlike any ginger dressing you’ve had. It’s almost like cole slaw dressing. Love it. We wait. Two women seated at our table. They order. We are brought chicken satay and shrimp tempura apps for our patience! Thank you! Honestly the waiting was fine. Our chef comes. The chef has an accent and the two ladies have a difficult and somewhat rude dialogue with him as to what they ordered. They apparently cannot understand him. Smh. As he cooks the rice, I was on my phone but I hear both ladies freaking out because he turned on the exhaust fan switch with the spatula and then chopped up the rice and egg. So he went and got new rice and egg, cleaned his utensil and the grill and started over. Ok… fine with me! Situation corrected. It was uncomfortable after that due to other women at the table and their attitude. Our food was ok, not great. The place seems dark and rundown. Sushi is really good although all you can eat sushi is not all you can eat sushi. If you choose that option, I think $ 25, you need to watch how much you order. If you do not finish it, you can take it home but you have to pay for that roll additionally! What?! Also no one who doesn’t have the special can even have one piece. I understand its to prevent the loss of money for the establishment but it was kind of uncomfortable and made me feel like I couldn’t just relax and eat. Honestly for the money I’d just go to Benihana.

Okay well the place is very dark which wasn’t a problem for me, the problem was when I walked in the host was miserable and our waiter was a total p%#*, he talked very low and was very rude. He had a tooth pick in house mouth and mumbled. His name was Jared btw. If I want hibachi I will be going to ooka in the future

About four years ago, this place used to be really enjoyable. The chefs cooked quality food and the service was decent. About a year or two ago, I’ve noticed things here have started to nosedive. Tonight when my boyfriend and I went(it was about a 20 minute wait), we were seated at a table with a family. We arrived before the family and we were able to order and receive our drinks. The family ordered their drinks after us and were completely forgotten about. We all got our salads, and the family still had not gotten their drinks. When the father asked the girl who brought the salads out about the drinks, she simply said: «You’ll have to talk to your server.» Real helpful. The chef began cooking the food, and still the drinks weren’t there. We were finally able to get a server to get the drinks, and she compensated the family by not charging them for it. I found this to be terrible service, especially since they had 3 kids with them. Pretty unforgivable. I have no idea where this chef learned how to cook, he was the worst Hibachi chef I have ever experienced. He struggled cooking everything and didn’t even have the correct portions for the entrees. He cooked the rice first(which is normal), but completely forgot about the vegetables until everyone already had their meat/seafood. He tried making an onion volcano and it was painful watching him struggling to stack the onions. Usually it’s done without much effort. We just wanted the vegetables with our food, but by the time we got them we were already halfway through our meal. Disappointing. The chef wasn’t funny, he didn’t joke around and he didn’t have any kind of personality. I ordered filet and scallops as my entrée and everything had entirely too much garlic. It was all I could taste. It didn’t help that my scallops came with a heaping pile of burnt garlic. It was disgusting. He apologized, but it didn’t really help… This place used to be a great date spot, but I would never come back here for a date or special occasion. We only came because we had the BOGO coupon from Clipper Magazine. I would not recommend to go here otherwise. You should not be paying full price for the food they serve.

So we were desperate for food on Sunday Memorial Day weekend and this was one of the only places open. Its pretty annoying to get to and you have to go down the steps in front of the parking lot. The place is really dark and has a 70s old basement vibe. There was no one there when we arrived and the staff looked like they were just hanging out with nothing to do. Our waitress was really nice and fast. I got the salmon and a side of noodles. The salmon was pretty thing and dry but the veggies were pretty good. The noodles were nicely sweet. Our salad had a too much dressing on but we didn’t mind since we put the rice in it. We were stuffed with the one entrée and two sides, so for $ 15 each it wasn’t bad. Plus they have a lot of early bird and lunch specials. I most likely would not come back but in a time of need it was OK.

I hate to be negative about places I eat, but this was kinda mediocre. I guess I’m spoiled with Hibatchi/Teppanyaki style restaurants, because I was disappointed with the food and the experience. Went here on Friday night and the place was nearly empty, and it’s very dark & Dingy in the main dining area. Maybe that was a sign! The Teppanyaki chef was just ok, and you heard all of them use the same loud jokes at each table going around the room; cheesy almost! The quality of the food looked good, but he did everything in teriyaki sauce! I thought the shrimp was overcooked, and the steak and chicken just melded together in a bath of teriyaki. The rice was decent, but the sauces(both of them) tasted like they were just in a can before it was poured into the small bowls, meaning — it just didn’t taste fresh at all(tasted canned). If you settle for«just ok» food then Hibatchi is your place. If you really love the whole Teppanyaki experience and you have high expectations, keep looking. Positive Notes: Our server was great, he did his job well. Our company(some really nice people) around the table was the best part. The restaurant did fill in with more people later, late dining?

I was in a mood for sushi… So we get there, and here it goes. First of all service was very slow(I mean high snail type of slow), waitress looked very sleepy and unprofessional. She forgot to bring our soup, it arrived after sushi were brought, and it was super salty. Sushi it self were NOT good for that price range. They were dry and didnt taste«right». And the funny part was the check, they charged us about $ 7 more(not a biggie, but still why?) After we prought it to waitresses attention, she explained it as a «combo» charge for a special(an additional rolls) that we didn’t ask for and/or were not told about, but they made sure to charge us for it! So we left 1⁄3 of uneaten sushi on a plate, were overcharged, and went home disappointed. This place needs to do a better work on every aspect of their business!

Because I gave them a bad review a few weeks ago, I am now getting nasty messages from employees who work there which is totally unacceptable. Once again, the customer is always wrong in their eyes and the messages I have received go to show that they abide by this.

NOT the place for sushi! Went to this place last night for dinner with the family. Parents ordered hibachi, my sister and I went for the All-You-Can-Eat sushi. Big mistake! Even if the sushi had been amazing(which it was not), the service was so horrendous, I would never eat there again. The hibachi eaters were almost finished before our first sushi rolls appeared. Rather than bringing pieces to the table as they were ready, the sushi chef made the decision to hold the platters until everything was ready on the plate. What purpose did that serve? Perhaps they do that so you’ll just get tired of waiting and leave, and not eat much sushi? Which is about what happened as we were there almost 2 ½ hours! It took 45 minutes to get served, and then it wasn’t very good. Edamame was watery, so was obviously frozen. The White Tiger Roll had a charred taste to it. The rest was«OK.» The waitress was one of the worst ever. She did not know any of the items, and had to keep going to ask. My dad had to ask 3 times for something to drink, and in the course of our 2 ½ hours, water glasses were not refilled even once. The hibachi looked good, and portions are extremely generous, but those eating it said the meat was tough and didn’t like the fried rice. The flavor of the shrimp was good though. My parents would have done well to share, so if you go here, that’s the thing to order and not the sushi. Just expect to wait. But my suggestion is go somewhere else. For the money, there are much better places.

Always a great place to have hibachi. Very good food, but the décor could use a little upgrade. I love their chicken teriyaki and rice with the salad and miso soup. Also the vegetable tempura is to die for, but with less grease dripping off and so hot(temp) that is burns your mouth. Other then that I love this hibachi, I have brought my girlfriend here and she loved it.

Had been there a long time ago but forgot what it was like. Got there and was seated immediately(within an hour of closing time). Placed my order but waited 25 minutes for just my salad to come out, let alone entrée. I asked the waitress for the wifi code — she didn’t know, asked her boss, and couldn’t give it to me… Anyway, Salad was bleak. Iceberg lettuce, one tomato, cucumber. On to the entrée. I ordered a NY Steak and Chicken. The rice was oily and somewhat over cooked. The meat was average — the biggest thing was that it lacked flavor, aside from the sauce. I also got duped on the vegetables. He gave everyone else more and I got stuck with a pretty small amount. Only a few pieces of broccoli. And it was pretty drenched in teriyaki/oil. Ultimately, there’s solid entertainment value in terms of how they cook the food(the chef is friendly) however the quality of food and service is poor. The place really does need a face lift. I felt like I was in a 1980s karaōke bar.
