I bake cupcakes myself and was excited to try smallcakes when visiting family in tulsa once I saw they have a key lime cupcake. I offer a key lime cupcake as well and wanted to compare as I’ve never seen another bakery offer that flavor. I asked them if their frosting was made with real butter or shortening and the two girls working did not know. They said they purchase their icing PREMADE.(WHAT!!!) I HOPETHEYAREMISTAKEN. after getting home and trying the cupcake– definitely shortening. Sticks to the roof of your mouth and you get that greasy taste. The cake was Moist but had absolutely no flavor. The icing was bland and had no lime flavor. All I could taste was shortening. I took one bite and threw it away. They do have a lot of flavors. Their cake seemed Moist if that’s your only concern. Personally I think they could do so much more and it is a shame their icing isn’t fresh and their staff is not knowledgeable enough to answer questions about their product. $ 4PERCUPCAKEOR $ 36/dozen for premade icing, NOTFRESHANDNOTREALBUTTER. And they have locations nationwide? And on food network? HOW?

I have tried almost all of the cupcake places in the Tulsa area(a bit of a guilty pleasure) and Smallcakes claims the title of favorite for me. The main reasons being that their cake is by FAR the most moist, their icing is not too sweet and is soft and not hard like a lot of places, and they are very consistent with their products. My favorite cupcake there is the plain vanilla cake with vanilla icing and rainbow sprinkles. I have a really huge appreciation for variety but when they do something so simple, so well, it’s hard to say no. Also, sidenote: I love their packaging. Adds a little bit to the experience.

I had a groupon for a dozen cupcakes and was not disappointed — they were fabulous! I ordered 12 different kinds and they were all delicious! Most cupcakes have more icing than cake. Not this place. It is evenly distributed. I must also mention that these cupcakes stayed fresh for six days. I will definitely be going back! YUMYUM!

A lot of good flavors to choose from! I got the Carrot Cake & Boston Cream Pie. Carrot Cake is an automatic for me. The Boston Cream Pie was very chocolatey, the filling in the middle was good as well. If your favorite fruit|flavor is strawberry, this place is for you. They had about 4 – 5 different strawberry cupcakes to choose from.

We picked up small cakes for the office, and I was surprised how good they were. These might be the best cupcakes we’ve ever tried. Especially love the expresso ones. Delicious! Will definitely be making future purchases.

Like previous posters said… not blown away especially for the price. Sam’s cupcakes taste better.

I don’t understand the low reviews. If you want a cheap, small, dry cupcake go to Walmart. You pay more for quality, and these are very good cupcakes. I found the cupcakes incredibly moist, larger than usual cupcakes, with just the right amount of frosting. Much better and cheaper than GiGi’s cupcakes in Nashville in my opinion. The key lime cupcake is amazing. Hands down my favorite. We tried 4 different flavors and they were all good, but the key lime was outstanding.

The coconut and pineapple filling cupcakes are very good. I also tried several flavors and they were just ok.

These are pretty moist and a good size, but I expect perfect flavor if I’m going to pay THAT much for a cupcake. They do have a lot of flavors to choose from, so that’s a plus. I tried five different flavors and the best one was the plain vanilla, but it was still lacking in flavor. I’d probably go back, but I won’t be a regular.

My husband and I checked out this cupcake shop yesterday and I fell in love. I love cupcakes and there were so many flavors! They had peanut butter and chocolate, birthday cake, strawberry, lemon, red velvet. I bought a half dozen for 16.00 and we enjoyed them over this weekend. I would definitely return.

Came here since I had a Groupon for a dozen cupcakes. I got one of each of the cupcakes they had. All were good, solid cupcakes with lots of frostingggggg. Yes, this place has good cupcakes with unique flavors(french toast, anyone?). Was I absolutely blown away? Not really. And if I remember correctly, their prices are slightly higher per cupcake than other places around town($ 3.45, if I remember correctly…).

My friend and I are huge cupcake fans and were very excited when we saw the small cakes shop. The store has a great variety of flavors and they look amazing. Sadly the cupcakes do not taste amazing. We got a dozen different varieties and none of them impressed. I’ve had box cakes that taste better, and the icing was nothing special. You can get better and cheeper cupcakes at Panera Bread, Whole Foods, Merritt’s, and Lambrusco’z. Don’t waste your money here.

Just stopped to get them for my son’s preschool class for his birthday! They were a huge success!

The cupcakes were nice and moist. They made it all the way back to Wichita no problem. One criticism would be that they were a tad too sweet because they had too much frosting.

YUM!!! So glad my husband and I found this place, we are definitely fans! The strawberry cake reminds my husband of his grandma’s strawberry cake back in the day. My favorite is the stuffed french toast — I don’t want to say the cake is vanilla, b/c it is so much tastier than any vanilla cake i’ve ever had. Anyway, some kind of cake with a yummy center and tasty cream cheese frosting. I am horrible at describing my favorite cupcake… just trust me, if you love french toast get one! The peanut butter flavor is a close 2nd, so good. I didn’t really care for the red velvet cake, which is supposedly Whoopi Goldberg’s favorite but maybe it’s just me. Like it wasn’t bad, just not as good as I had anticipated considering all of the hype. No need to pre-order, they almost always have plenty of cupcakes, but if you want a certain flavor you might call ahead to make sure they still have some. Oh and get the ½ dozen, it’s the best deal.
