We came her on New Year’s Day for a walk with the dogs. Officially the beach is an on leash area but there were only dog owners on the beach and most of them had their dogs off leash. It is a nice long beach with beautiful scenery including a waterfall a ways down the beach. Be aware that dogs are not allowed on Goat Beach on the other side of the parking area. To get to the beach follow Goat Rock Rd all the way to the bottom of the hill. You’ll pass two other parking areas before you get to the one by the beach. An absolutely gorgeous beach, Blind Beach is just south of Goat Rock Beach. Essentially Goat Rock is a giant rock on the end of a short peninsula; to the north is Goat Rock Beach(no dogs allowed), and to the south of the rock is Blind Beach(dogs permitted on leashes). Alongside Goat Rock on Blind Beach are several beautiful rock formations out in the water and right up on the beach. A cliff stands above the beach, see my pics. Beautiful spot for a 4th of July Day at the Beach! This beach is just south of the town of Jenner, which is the town on the north side of the mouth of the Russian River. In Jenner, you can rent canoes and kayaks to row around on the inlet to the river. This is a great spot only 2 hours from the city, but a whole world away. Next time you’re thinking of an escape from the concrete and pavement, head up north to Jenner and Blind Beach. You won’t be disappointed!
