very cute place right on the main drag through jerome. it’s full of locally made(and some not so local) gifts. the owners were very sweet and answered our questions about some of the items they had for sale. like most places in jerome, everything is quite expensive. still, if you wanted a neat little local gift for someone, this place has a nice mix. i was especially impressed at they amount and quality of their dia de los muertos selection.

Very un happy with this store as my family and I were up in Jerome for the first time and went into this store, my daughter slipped and was crying so we took her outside of the store, the person in charge of the store Closed the door on my wife and child, little did she know i was still in the store. Then I asked«why did you close the door»? She said I don’t want to hear that thing! with a snooty face. I will never go back to this store and will report this to the better business bureau as discrimination on children.

I love this shop! It carries unique items(hello, Freida Kahlo tote bag!) and pricing is reasonable. Hard to describe, so check it out.

For us, this place was love at first sight. My friend loves Day of the Dead arts and crafts and literature. They had some in the window. For a second, it looked like the store was closed and I thought my friend was going to have a breakdown. Luckily it wasn’t. This store has lots of great stuff — all of it fair trade. The clothes were really cute — and really affordable. One of the owners was in there and she was really sweet and really helpful — and really funny. Some old ladies came in while we were shopping and said of the music playing in the background«What is that, that reggae music?» The owner good naturedly laughed and said«Yup, it’s good for you!» The crotchety old ladies obviously didn’t agree — they left. Their loss. Now I’m no fan of reggae, but I don’t find it offensive. And I’m a de facto fan of anything that gets uptight bitches out of stores where I’m shopping. I bought a bunch of great clothes. And a few cute craft items. And this great journal with a cover that was leather made from animals that had died naturally. Hooray for hippie goods! But the real find was made by my friend. When I walked up to the register, she held up this necklace and asked if I liked it. It was gorgeous — silver, two birds facing each other, their eyes made of coral, small pieces of turquoise dotting the necklace. The owner told us that the necklace was made by this family in Mexico that has been making jewelry for generations. Frida Kahlo bought a bunch of her jewelry from this family. This necklace kind of looked like a Frida Kahlo piece. «I hate it on you. I think you should put it down and let me buy it,» I said, since I’m such a good friend. Unfortunately, my friend knows me too well to fall for that and she bought the necklace. I told her that if the necklace ever goes missing, she knows where to look first. Sleep with one eye open, my friend.
