The best Indian in JC so far. I really love this place. We live near by and come over often, also we order a delivery from them. The food always taste fresh and flavorful. Garlic naan is terrific.

This place was a complete FAIL for me, I went here since I heard many good things about it but I was disappointed. The chicken was absolutely raw and inedible. A waste of $ 18.

Nice ambiance, loved the platters, the indo-Chinese food can be better but still good.

We were a regular customer of this restaurant, but now the quality of food has fallen drastically, the bread we ordered last time was some sort of in a confused state whether to be called a Naan or chapati it was neither of them, now instead of increasing the price and people noticing they reduced the quantity, we always used to order and the dishes priced $ 16– $ 18 was ok considering the quantity, but now the size is less than half, from what it used to be really disappointed

This is the best Indian buffet in the waterfront area of JC. I’ve only been for their buffet so all my comments are about that experience. They have many great options, fresh naan brought to your table, and it’s reasonably priced. It’s a bit of a higher end atmosphere than your average Indian buffet. They are probably mostly an a la cart dinner spot so the AYCE lunch buffet is better than other«in and out» glass table top type Indian lunch spots in the area. I highly recommend. Only subtracted 1 star bc they sometimes don’t have chicken tikka masala out, which is my go-to. But even in those cases, there are loads of other delicious options.

Been here a few times for dinner with family and the food was surprisingly blend. We have better food at Amiya in the past. The service, ambience, décor are good and that explains their overpriced menu, but they have to work on most importantly food. Last night I ordered pepper chicken and basil malai kebab, the pepper chicken was like eating pepper sprinkled leather balls, the sauce did not have any taste, the chicken was over cooked, and the basil malai kebabs was a complete blend and again the chicken was neither soft or tender as a malai kebab shud be and did not taste fresh basil in it at all as described on the menu. Would try some other restaurant next time. Amiya colada was awesome. Chinese fried rice, amiya stir fry, hakka noodles, aloo papdi chaat were good but nothing was outstanding as expected.

This was not the first time I was visiting this place, I live very close by so I go here once in a while. Food is decent, not too great and not too bad, bit over priced for the quality/quantity. Please go in with measured expectations. We ordered Lasooni Gobi — it wasn’t completely cooked, we could still taste the batter on gobi. Subzi ka sheesh– same story here as well, this was supposed to be kebab that means cooked from outside. Looks like they took the meaning too literally and didn’t cook inside at all. Sham savera– this was bit too sweet but still good best well cooked. Staff and service was good, I will go back here again.

Never been disappointed. Love the samosas and tamarind chutney. Their kebabs are delicious! Good ambiance, great service and amazing food. They make the curries as per your spice level which i find nice since we eat spicy food. Buffet consists of lots of different varieties for everyone. Overall good price for the food. Would recommend anyone!

One of the best contemporary Indian cuisine. Food is so delicious and such a friendly and welcoming service.

I know this place has great food, and I got delivery this evening of the lentil soup and a chicken entrée. For both items, I need to say, despite the good flavors, that they were rendered nearly inedible by ridiculous amounts of SALT, which overwhelmed everything. Why do restaurants do this, it ruins meals that would otherwise be wonderful. Amiya just lost a customer because of it.

One Sunday afternoon at almost 3pm, some church folks and I decided we wanted to do the buffet. They normally close their buffet at 3pm but we called in and said we were about 5 minutes away. They said they will keep the buffet open until 3:15pm for us, and that we can take as much food as we want to our table. When we got there, our table was ready for us! We took food from the buffet and while we were eating they gave us a fresh platter of tandoori chicken, warm naan and paneer tikka masala, which happened to be my favorites! Of course, I had to have the mango lassi. Everything was delicious and we’ve had our fill, for sure. They even let us take home our leftover samosas! I’ve been to Amiya before and I loved their food but this time their service came on top.

Was there for buffet. They do have a huge selection. The menu is changed daily and you can check their website for the menu for the particular day. The food is OK, I found some of the dish to be bit bland. The dahi bhalla was just awesome. The lamb curry was also great. In desert, Gulab Jamun was great BUT the ras malai tasted as the packet/readymade one.

Have had dinner here on a few occasions and have been consistently under-impressed. The curries just aren’t particularly tasty and make you feel kinda gross afterwards. Service is good and the ambiance is whatever. I like their naan and rice, but let’s be honest those are the easy parts. My go to at most Indian restaurants is a lamb curry. Here I had the Kashmiri lamb, which was fairly disappointing. The meat was over-cooked and shall was say, added sparingly. My girlfriend had the Chicken Tikka Masala(which you’d think would be a safe choice), but it tasted like they put wayyyy too much cream in it. Honestly I don’t know how she managed to eat as much of it as she did.

Sunday lunch for a friends birthday. We were 17 ppl. The table well set up outside but 1. No one came with water until asked 2. Then we started the buffet. Cold appetizer 3. No hot food 4. Most things were finished. They were in no rush to fill it up 5. No one was there at the live station to cook the dosas until asked 6. Food was eh ! Nothing great 7. After requesting/complaining they were on a roll. They got hot tandoori chicken n dosas n Nan’s .But we had almost finished by then. Not coming back until it’s an invite for a party or smthing.

So much potential but a lot of it is missed. The dining room is still nice, but the service is very slow. They are good with tandoori dishes(amazing lamb chops, very good seekh kebabs and others) and a few of the gravied dishes such as goat curry are not bad, but some of the dishes can be a total miss. The butter chicken tasted like a dessert. When we brought it up with the waiter, he took it back and the chef«improved» it. We were pretty amused that the improvement was throwing a ton of paprika into the dish. It was both awful and strange.

I order take out from amiya often and never had a bad experience until last night. I love their food and never had bad experience but last night they gave me undercooked naan and parantha because it was a busy night seems like. I had family friends over and it was shameful serving them under cooked bread. I understand it was busy rainy saturday night but i paid full price for my food and don’t deserve undercooked bread and embarrassment serving the food to my guests. Get it together amiya or you are going to lose clientele soon

I went to Amiya for dinner and was less than impressed. We started with the vegetarian sampler appetizer, and it was extremely underwhelming. You couldn’t taste anything except for the very heavy, oily breading that coated everything. It basically made everything just take like funnel cake. For the main dish I had the ginger sesame chicken, which would have been better described as a soup. There was probably twice as much sauce as was necessary. The portion size was decent, just seriously mis-proportioned between meat and sauce. The service wasn’t much of a redeeming quality either. When we were seated, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, and the waiters all seemed to just be standing around, yet the service was extremely slow. We quickly put in our appetizer order, and it arrived before someone ever came back to take our food order(I had to flag someone down just so we could order our main dishes). I definitely don’t plan to go back. The price just doesn’t match to overall quality.

Its a quick walk from harbor side light rail station. Had heard mixed reviews about the place. But the thought of having mini dosas dragged me to the place. Food — Went in for the lunch buffet. Mini dosas are fabulous and they had tasty sambhar to go along. He chutney was horrid. I really wished they had fresh grated coconut. Medu vada and dahi vada can be aboided. The spring roll appetizer was lip smacking and not oily as well. Papdi chaat is a must have and if you have a sweet tooth add a dash of the date sauce. I stayed with dosas for my entrée and tried the chicken methi and lamb korma. The former had really good flavors with well done chicken. Finished with the carrot halwa for dessert. Service — We wee welcomed by a smiling and cheerful hostess. They were happy to move tables to provide us our preferred table. Cost — $ 15 per pax.
