The sisig here is the best! Actually anything you get from here is delicious. Very friendly and great prices.

I don’t know much about Filipino foods so I’m learning. Solid selections and bright atmosphere! Also, those anchovy patties are my new favorite treat. I’ll be baaaack.

From breakfast till dinner there’s a lot of yummy food choices!!! Plus there’s a mini Filipino/Asian grocery inside. Very reasonable price and friendly staff… I will always come back to this place everytime I visit New York and New Jersey!

I know people that have ordered food for parties from Apollo & that’s why I did. Got a tray of sisig, lumpia & pancit for $ 120. Not bad! But yesterday was the first time I was disappointed with the sisig. No flavor & strange texture, so they’re not exactly consistent. Place is clean(cannot say that about most Filipino spots) but always difficult to find parking.

while waiting for my wife to finish her salon appointment… i overheard another waiting customer talking about the next door place which she said has the best sisig she’s ever tasted… that all the places she’s been to were not even close… and so after my wife’s appointment… we entered this next door restaurant and ordered stuff… of course we got the sisig… and lo and behold the old lady was correct… was the best sisig i’ve ever tasted here in the US… it’s comparable to what you’ll get with a famous pampanga restaurant… the only thing that turned me off with the sisig is the inclusion of pork liver or too much of it… but that doesn’t mean we won’t be coming back… we actually ordered a tray for media noche 2014…

Authentic indeed but kinda salty. The variety of groceries is great for at home cooking.

The best Filipino restaurant in Jersey City. I’ve been coming here for 17 years, it doesn’t get any more authentic Filipino food than Apollos. I’m sad to not live closer anymore :( apollos is a turo turo style restaurant– basically you pick your food from a buffet style items. Sisig– I can’t even begin to explain how it’s the best you’ll ever have. its so good. there will none left if you arrive at apollos after 2pm maybe even one. pork shoulder fried to perfection chopped and mixed in with some liver and raw onions. Batchoy– this is not on the menu but pre order it. It comes with egg noodles, pieces of pork, top with fried garlic fresh scallions and the most flavorful broth. If you are looking for some good Filipino food like grandmas this is the place to be. There are a couple of Filipino restaurant around west side and Newark ave and I’ve been to all of them Apollos is by far THEBEST.

Tastes like home cooking! I love this place and now my co-workers love this place. Nice seating area and I think coffee is free or maybe I just stole it? It’s cheap and they give you alot, $ 5-$ 6 for rice and two sides and a drink. The menu changes every now and then

I love Apollo! Hands down best Filipino restaurant in the area quality-wise. The food could not be any more authentic. It’s a simple restaurant with food that are simply DELICIOUS. Their desserts though could be a hit or miss but I have never ever regret eating here. Eating here actually reminds me how good Filipino food is. The taste of their food far outshines their competitors’.

Sisig(a Filipino dish made from parts of pig’s head and liver, usually seasoned with calamansi and chili peppers.). One of my favorite dishes, and of all the Filipino joints in Jersey City, nobody makes it better than Apollo! Go git it!

After eating here around 2⁄3PM one weekend, I would agree with other Unilocalers, the early bird gets the worm, or in this case, the slamming BBQ. My carnivore friend assures me this is the spot for the best Filipino BBQ, but they run out early. Staff were very nice at this cafeteria style restaurant. Since I don’t eat meat, Filipino food is usually a challenge for me, but luckily I eat fish, so I was able to try the fried fish here. The outside was extremely crispy and fried while inside I was surprised to find very juicy fish. The fish was nicely seasoned and I enjoyed experimenting with the vinegars and traditional sauces at our table. All entrees come with rice and a side for 5⁄6 bucks.

Suggestion: Go there early since everything is fresh and good. Service people are nice, especially the old man who cleans the place and keeps trays and fridge neat. I gave them 3 stars bcuz the food isnt hot served.

Used to like going here but recently the food their serving tasted like they just reheated their food. I’ve had my husband buy breakfast combos and was VERY disappointed… the fried rice was sticky and smelled weird like its about to go bad. the«tapa» was hard to chew like it was just reheated that day coz it was dry. The other thing I don’t like is the service specially the cashier… doesn’t even bother greeting you and gives you the look if you ask for a container when you need to wrap your left over food to go. Nowadays I see they have few customers in to none whenever I drive my son to school or I go home from work(working nights). If its breakfast you want you’re better off going to KABAYAN grill near the St. Aloysius school. They will COOK your order specially breakfast so you know it’s fresh.

Unfortunately today, I made the wrong decision by buying Biko dessert at this place. I got home and it had MOLD in it! Big disappointment! Other than that, the food is ok. The best Filipino spaghetti, though… FYI: The combo price was increased.

Pretty decent Filipino food and grocery all in one. I was here last Friday when I went to visit my cousin. The place is nice, people friendly, and we just happen to find this place looking for a quick bite to eat. I ended up getting the fried rice which is always a hit, as well as Filipino Sausage(longaniza) like Billy C.(a Unilocaler) had here. I had 4 of those which was fried really well which I love. The price was shockingly cheap that I almost thought that they messed up on the bill. Under 10 bucks for all that food.

This place is good to go visit and take out food. If you have nothing to eat at home and want to order something quick, then Apollo is a great venue to go. I usually go on Sundays because I have nothing to eat on that day haha. The location is convenient for the surrounding neighborhood. They have a good selection of Filipino food to eat. I usually order a combo with sisig along with 1 side and small size of another type of food. The cost of my order is $ 8.50 and you get a free can of soda. Their combo prices range from $ 4.50 to $ 5.50. They place a different selection(at least 15 dishes such as BBQ, fish, meat, etc. to choose) each day so you won’t see the same food if you go stop by frequently. Also connected to the venue is a Grocery store which show alot of Philippine eateries! Great Fast Food Atmosphere!

Although I have only been here for breakfast and brunch, I am a fan. A generous portion of fried rice, corned beef(sauteed with onions and eggs) &2 longanizas(Filipino sausage) plus a can of soda(Barq’s root beer for me) for only… get this…$ 5.50. What? Yep! Same price for lunch too. Very good and tasty. Talk about bang for the buck! They have over 10 other dishes that you can pick out from, like Adobo and barbecue. They also have some fish dishes as well. Fast food atmosphere. Good food. Good fast service. Great price! Street parking only. As far as I am concerned, when it comes to breakfast or brunch this place is hard to beat for value.
