Beauty Within Hair Salon

I’ve been coming to Marsha, salon owner of Beauty Within Hair Salon for almost five years. From keratin treatments, to curly styles, highlights, full colors, and now my new bob cut… Marsha can do it all!
Her experience in cutting and styling in over 20 years definitely shows by the results I get after I leave her salon on my visits.
She is highly, highly recommended!

I went to get a haircut today. I asked for a lob (long bob). She gave me the length of a lob with layers. I believe her name was Evelyn. Now I have to wait for my hair to grow back to get the haircut.
On another note, they were very friendly.

This place is great for a quick haircut & blowout and always at a good price. Not like those overpriced salons in downtown JC.

Living in a new city and having to find a new hair salon is a matchmaking rendezvous in itself. For the past few months, I’ve been contemplating a cut, and yesterday I woke up ready to bite the bullet.
I live in the city but was at my boyfriend’s place in JC. After an excessive scan of Unilocal,I called The Beauty Within hair salon around 10am, asking for the owner, Martha (who has a ton of great reviews on Unilocal), and she scheduled me for a 5pm appointment.
I arrived ten minutes early and was welcomed by Martha herself. She was finishing a color and offered me coffee or tea. She was so prompt to let me know that someone was going to shampoo and condition my hair, then she would cut, and someone else would blow it out.
The entire process went quickly yet thoroughly, and I was finished in 40 minutes! Martha is shear genius! She turned my too long, scraggly hair into volumous layers with bounce! To top it off, when I was paying at the counter ($ 35!), Martha gave me a Chi keratin holiday gift bag and thanked me for coming in.
I really enjoyed the small, homey feel of this hair salon and will surely be back again soon!

Ok so while I was back on the hunt for a new person to tame my wild hair (since the last place couldn’t fulfill my needs last visit) I came across the perfect place closer to home. With no appointment I decided to drop in to see if they were available for a dye and straightening job, and luckily they were available right away which was a big plus. Marsha was really great (even though she wasn’t the one who did my hair) I spoke to her and told her exactly what i wanted and also explained that i tried and paid for an ombré in 2 other locations and it was a complete fail, she then assured me she can get the job done the right way. Putting in all my trust we got the process started, to make a long story short I’ve gotten the ombré that i always wanted at a great price. Marsha and her staff are really great people and I will be back for all of my hair needs. Thank you Ladies

Marsha was super friendly and pleasant. The salon was clean and quiet with great prices. Most importantly I have gotten TONS of wonderful comments about my new haircut. I let her do what she thought was best and it turned out great, very easy to maintain and flattering.
Will definitely be making this my new salon.

I have been getting hair done hear for years. Marsha is an absolute rockstar! She does a consistently good job and is reasonably priced.
She has also been cutting my sons hair since his first hair cut.

I’ve gone here twice. The first time I did not love it. I can’t remember her name but it was an Indian lady who also does eyebrows. My haircut looked of one for a 12 YO and I was 28 so not great. but I’ll give my review based on the other hair stylist Candace. I just loved how she did my hair it was great! It was for New Years and I got tons of compliments. Hoping I can go in today and have her style me once again!!! The owner isn’t very friendly but it’s never very packed and you can call and make An appt the same day.

They are two things I don’t do myself, my hair and my taxes. lol
I have been going to Marsha for many moons, she is quick with a pair of scissors and is open to any hairstyle you like.
She will also kindly tell you, if a style is not particularly flattering. :)
She has done almost everything to my hair and yet it remains very healthy.
I would especially recommend the curly haired ladies to come and give her a try. She gives curls the hydration they need to look soft and bouncy.
She frequently takes classes to update hair cutting techniques as well.
Only catch is she is in Jersey City heights. It can be a bit challenging or even overwhelming to find parking.

just updating with my latest visit — Marsha done did it again and made me look fabulous :) seriously, i came in for a 10am appointment, and was out the door by 10:45! not that she rushed, she’s just really good at what she does. seriously.
