I was really excited about eating at this restaurant but I was extremely disappointed when I got there. The service was awful. I made an 8:30 appointment and when I arrived I was told that it would be a 20 minute wait due to the fact that there were only 2 people working. I was fine with that an sympathetic to their situation. After that more people came in and were served ahead of us. The servers gave their attention to them and completely disregarded our presence. The 20 minutes turned into an hour which would have been fine had the people working told us. They looked right at us and chose to serve other people. I don’t mind waiting but the fact that we were completely ignored while people who came after us(without a reservation) were served and treated so well was irritating and says a lot about the servers. The WORST service I have ever experienced in my life.

Bad reviews are well deserved. Walked in for carry-out, lasagna. I’m told 15 minutes. Waited 55. lasagna came out first then she says they are making my appetizer then both HOT foods are done but she says there is no bread which I had specifically asked for and if I wait another 5 minutes it will be done. Worst part is the manager sees me sitting there for so long and says nothing. In watching him it seems clear he is part of the problem. Lasagna was cold by the time I got back to my hotel next door. Ate 5 bites then threw it out.

Their pick-up service has been pretty inconsistent and disappointing. Today I was told that their online ordering system does not show payment history. I had to show them the email confirmation on my phone to confirmed that I’ve already paid. I came back home and found out that they forgot to include basils for the Margherita! Also, I would not recommend adding extra pizza toppings! :(

Most unprofessional restaurant in Jersey City! I ordered a small pizza for a pick-up and made me wait for more than 50 minutes while giving a variety of excuses for delay. Eventually, when I requested money back, then in the pretext of calling the manager, they kept me hanging for some time and then eventually gave the pizza. I wish there was an option for 0 star at Unilocal

Terrible service! Came on a Saturday evening with kids. Ordered drinks and food right away cause kids were hungry. Server seemed busy although restaurant was mostly empty. Waited 45 minutes for food, then asked waiter what was going on. He said it would take another ‘three minutes’ and disappeared again. When he came back 15 minutes later, I asked for the check because I was tired of waiting. He said«I’m not the cook!». Asked for check for drinks, paid and left. Waiter did not apologize. Instead, as he brought the check he said«I won’t lie to you. Your food is not ready.» Wow!

5 stars for Bertucci’s lunch! They have pitcher sangria for $ 15, we got the white. It was flavorful and strong! As for lunch we ordered the meat pizza, margarita, and buffalo chicken! All 3 were delicious. We got a large house salad which was delicious and the bread was warm and tasty. It has a great Italian restaurant feel. I love brick oven pizza and wasn’t sure how it would be coming from a chain. It was great! I will def head back soon!

Stopped in for a long lunch with co-workers this past Friday. We were seated quickly and had great service. I wish there were more TV’s here though! We ordered two large pizzas, some of us drank sangria and some drank beer. The sangria was surprisingly good, I am not usually a fan of white sangria but i enjoyed this kind. I think it was because it was pretty sweet. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are good too. The complementary rolls and salad are a nice touch!

We havent been here for years, now i remember why we stop coming. Food is mediocre, service is bad. Sangria was weak. I have an egift card and the manager said i cant use it cuz its not a gift card. Have you heard of Egift card??? They finally realized that i was right. My balance was only $ 4.33. I have no cash so i gave them a card, it should 54.33. I asked them why, they gave us some lame excuse. Now i have to watch my bill to make sure i didnt get charge $ 50. Stay away.

Their food is okay. But what pisses me is: I have carry-out order last night. I ordered Ultimate Bertucci pizza, Tuscan wings and Diet Coke. After they told me the order was ready. There was no Diet Coke. They forgot to order it. Alright, that was fine. But after I got home. I found that the pizza I got was not ultimate Bertucci. It had only cheese, tomato sauce and pepperoni! Where was my meatball and where was my sausage? It was totally a mess! If you ever go to the restaurant, please double or triple check your order with them!

Nice ambiance and service. Pasta is good(average) and portion is generous, more than you can eat. Free and warm focaccia bread is my fav though in this place.

This restaurant didn’t have the greatest food I have ever tasted but it certainly wasn’t the worst. In my mind it was just average. This is not the place to tell out of towners about but a place you would settle for if nothing else is open. The prices were good as they had a 3 course meal with a salad or soup, selection of pastas, and a dessert. My salad was alright but the croutons were a little hard as though I was eating jumbo kibbles. I got ravioli for the main dish wish was ok. I got some dessert with a cookie and ice cream on top which i did not love as I thought the cookie was burnt. Had I known I would have asked for my cookie to be medium rare. Normally when you picture this dessert you imagine the cookie soft and closer to dough. This was far from that. In addition to that, the restaurant was empty yet my servers made it seem like it was busy as I sporadically saw them. I would hate to imagine how often I would have seen them if it actually was busy. I just didn’t really get the feeling that they really wanted to work. Perhaps I may be wrong but in my opinion body language doesn’t lie. Not to mention the fact that upon walking in I heard the employees arguing over who should seat us as one of them made it clear that he was on break. Once again I may be wrong and hearing things but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t referring to brakes on a car.

we recently moved to new jersey and were looking for a nice restaurant to eat. Luckily WEFOUNDBERTUCCI’S The service and food are amazing. The people behind the counters really care about their customers and the food they serve. They are so friendly. And that just makes the sandwiches even better. My wife and I got the salmon and pizza. We both loved it. We will be coming back! keep the great service up

It’s food that’s usually burnt. Last two times they burnt the sauce. The pasta came out burning hot with the veggies and meat just burnt to a crisp. The only good thing about this place is the bread. It’s served hot from the oven and has been soft to the touch each time. If you’re a parent, you can use this place to punish your kids. Overall, underwhelmed.

(2.5 Stars) Recently, I was looking for an informal, child-friendly restaurant in JC for 10 adults and 4 kids. Bertucci’s advertises itself as being kid friendly, has an extensive menu… the location is great — just outside Path and they validate parking! So it was a good option on every score. Plus we sampled their goodies during Newport crawl & were impressed. However, we were let down by the service. It was just immensely poor and discourteous from the minute we sat down. Our large group, including the kids, was kept waiting for more than 25 minutes with no water or the famous Bertucci’s bread. There was no sign of our server and the staff just walked around without making eye contact(always a bad sign). When our server finally showed up and one of us asked for waiter he curtly replied, «not now, I’m not ready…» Really??? Instead he proceeded to take our order… and got water for the table after another 10 minutes. 35 minutes after waiting(we were all starving and kids were getting anxious) we asked for bread and were told… it was being baked. We also requested our server to get the kids’ meals first and he got everyone food’s together and forgot about 2 of the kids’ meals completely. He eventually brought it out after we had almost finished our dinner. This is not a one star review even after the poor service we received, as the food was not bad. The lobster and shrimp risotto in particular was delicious — packed with both shrimp and fresh lobster in a light garlic broth, it was one of the most popular dishes on the table. Some of the other items our group sampled: Grilled Salmon fillet with green beans, shrimp scampi, baked tortellini with chicken and veggie pizza. The salmon and tortellini were both good… but the pizza was a letdown. We had sampled this during the Newport crawl and it was a thin-crust version then with tiny pieces of veggies. Unfortunately, this one had big chunky pieces of broccoli, was missing the peppers and the sauce tasted like it came out of a can. After this experience, I would be hesitant to recommend Bertucci’s for large groups as we felt they were not equipped to deal with it.

Went to this fine Italian establishment on the Unilocal Oktoberfest pub crawl and was really pleased with the food fare offered! We got to sample beer, of course, but the highlights were the delicious pizzas and the amazing meatball sandwiches! The meatballs were huge and super flavorful, it was really one of the best I’ve tried! Thank you for having us :)

They have the best bread EVER! The main reason why I come here! I usually get the Fettacine Alfredo. Sometimes it’s perfect, other times it’s a miss. Extra point since their meatballs at the Unilocal Oktoberfest event were on point!!! I did not know they had such good meatballs ;)

Came here with a large group for dinner the other night. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. Drink selection is average, and our drinks came quickly. I had the rigatoni with broccoli and chicken in a lemon cream sauce. The rigatoni and broccoli were overcooked, but the heavy sauce covered it up pretty well. Chicken was fine. It was slightly annoying that one person’s entrée came out much later than everyone elses. Other than that, I’m not against coming here.

The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Our server was very nice and tried hard but service took a while for everything from food arriving to getting the bill. I will not knock off too many stars because we were a very large party of 18. Tip: If you park across the street by the Chase bank they will validate it and you. park for free.

After having lived in Massachusetts for over 10 years I’m loving that there is a bertuccis in nj. It didn’t have the same ambience with the brick oven fireplace front and center like the other locations but the rolls were still perfectly the same. I looooove their rolls. Our server was awesome! So helpful and patient. The silano pizza is always my favorite though it was missing that lemon taste that it usually has with the lemon pepper cream sauce. It was fun designing our own pizza with their new multigrain crust option. The bottom line is the bread/crust is awesome as is their thin red sauce. They know how to make a simple pizza that allows the fresh quality flavored stand out. They even had a good selection of wines. It was surprisingly not busy for a Saturday night. The booths can seat up to 6. Be sure to print out a coupon from their website– we had one for 15% off.

We dined in and ordered take out to test our theory whether this place is really good or just average. We concluded that the food is mediocre and the restaurant deserves 2.5 stars. The pizza, tuscan chicken wings(perhaps our slightly burnt), salad were average. We also had the summer special which consisted of the lobster and shrimp scampi pasta — the entrée was slightly above average. I definitely saw more than 4 shrimps… it’s probably because we dined in… They skimped on the portions when you order take out food. We could’ve gone to Cosi and gotten a better deal and satisfying food for the same price. Curb your enthusiasm if you choose to try this place. –Small sporkie pizza($ 10.99) — Large strawberry, spinach, goat cheese with grilled shrimp salad($ 8.98 plus $ 4 for shrimp = $ 12.98) There were 4 shrimps!
