The atmosphere here is underwhelming. Spatially, it’s not a great arrangement of sitting areas vs. shelves, and the places to sit are not all that inviting. They are serious about their requirements to get a library card, and you need mail that’s been sent within the past 30 days(the date has to be printed somewhere). I would recommend checking the online catalog for any whatever may need, this is a great resource and tells you which branch of the Jersey City Public Libraries your item is located and how many copies, etc.

Really solid branch of the JC Public Library. It gets 5 stars because it even has it’s own little private parking lot on the side of the building. There is also an attached auditorium of some sort(although I haven’t checked it out). Easy place to grab a book

There was once a little tanned pacific island kid, whose parents loved to drag him to the asian market on Newark Ave. He hated the smell of the fish, was scared of the live crabs that his mom used to make him pick out and put in a paper bag and had nightmares about the toothless asian register women. Then one day, little… let’s call him, Louis… ran across the street and hid in this giant building. He found this spot to be quiet and serene, where he could hide from his parents, read his comic books… and even some days, read real books. He also discovered that he could rent videos… rated R, videos. Dope childhood memories and libraries usually don’t go hand-in-hand…but seeing bewbies for the first time will be etched in a boy’s memory, foreva’. Sorry ma, your little boy wasn’t always good.

Pretty easy to get to, this seems like a good local library. I was lured to it by the promise of free e-books for my kindle. Taking out a library card was easy, and I was in business with the digital library as soon as I got home. The library building is very cool in a Mad Men retro way, it was built in 1962 and hasn’t changed much since then. There were computers you could use at the library for internet access, and it was a pretty quiet space.
