I love their food. I’ve eaten in and ordered delivery. The food is well cooked, seasoned to perfection, it’s bountiful, and mouth watering delicious! My parents have eaten and ordered there too. It’s definitely a reliable business for good Mexican food. Their not squeamish on the sauces either.

Very solid neighborhood joint. Great burritos and tortas, consistently good service. Prices are good. If they mute the tv, dim the lighting a little, and put on some good music, I would eat in — but as it is now I only order for pickup.

Tried them for take out for the fist time today and I’m really happy. Can’t beat the price of 4 tacos for $ 10. I had the carnitas tacos and they were excellent. I also tried their daily special(also $ 10) of spare ribs in red sauce with rice and beans. It was huge and delicious. Very mom and pop feel to the place, not fancy or hip, but clean with interesting colors and photos on the walls. I’ll definitely be back.

Tacos are delicious! They just take forever to prepare so its always better to call ahead of time so that they can prepare your food. I love it that their mexican food is authentic.

I actually like this place as much as the Taqueria Downtown, I think people go there cause it’s trendy, the food here I think is just as good. This is where Hispanic people go to get Mexican food. You don’t see to many Hispanic people in the Taq! In general, I wouldn’t order this kind of food for delivery unless it’s a burrito. Try the lengua tacos if you’re into beef tongue!

One of the bistec asado tacos in Jersey City. The place has the feel of your local medium sized deli, if your deli was dark and chilly after 5pm, and served authentic tacos.

There are not many places in this neighborhood I would be willing to eat at, but this place is one of the best places around. My wife and I first tried Guerrero when it opened around 2 years ago and it reminded us very much of the food we got during our trips to Mexico. The thing with American/Mexican food is it typically uses four tortillas and yellow american cheese. Guerrero uses corn tortillas and the crumbly mexican cheese we got in Mexico. There homemade tortilla chips are one of the best I have tasted and are definitely worth a try. All the mexican food we have tried here has been good, but we never tried any of the american food on the menu. I would say that Guerrero could do better on consistency. Depending on who is making the food, then tend to make it differently. Also like every restaurant around here there décor leaves a lot to be desired. Overall though give it a try as it is one of the worth while places around.

Ordered delivery and it was fairly quick(20 mins) for a chicken torta and the enchilada meal. Cheese enchilada was good, nothing great, with a nice side of nachos and hot(red) sauce. Torta was nothing special for $ 6 but was tasty. Would help to have a menu posted online(links on Unilocal don’t work and the menu They gave us is in Spanish).

Confirmed. Steak torta, cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, and of course, the tamales(chicken in red sauce, and beef in green sauce) were all good. Only complaint was that it was hotter than a sauna inside the restaurant(no A/C), but we ended up taking it ‘to go’ anyways.

Tucked away on a little street off Montgomery St., up near The Beacon condos, this self-described«Mexican and American» restaurant opened in the past month. I couldn’t resist doing a drive-by, getting a menu, and running the offerings by a restaurant critic friend. Following his guidelines for my initial approach for the most part, I ordered a few different things for our first meal: chilaquiles with chicken, the carnitas tacos, and a couple tamales. The tacos were ordered only because a special I wanted(albondigas) were unavailable, and I hadn’t picked a backup. This was the only mediocre part of the order, and they probably weren’t even all that bad(the pork was reasonably moist, the fixings were appropriate – diced onions, parsley, sliced radish), but the ones at Taqueria Downtown are exceptional and everyone else’s suffer in comparison. The tamales were really good – chicken with red sauce, nicely smoky, fresh. The restaurant offers them with red, green, mole & rajas. The chilaquiles, however, were the standout. I got them with chicken and green sauce, and they were excellent. A lot of fire in this dish, and the rice and beans that accompanied them were great. The only complaint was that my wife laid claim to the dish, it was so good, and I didn’t get a large-enough share. I look forward to going back there on a weekend for posole & a torta, and to eating my way around the Mexican part of the menu.
