Truly a five star experience, this was my first time going to Liberty Prime Steakhouse on Montgomery, the ambiance was stunning, the facilities were immaculate and well maintained, Pedro the gentleman at the bar was very assertive to my gathering, he was likewise exceptionally educated with respect to the superb menu choices and gave incredible suggestions, I would like to thank Pedro for his genuine nobility, and I will make certain to return soon. Technical: Based on the observable entity this establishment should receive a high return on its initial investment due to the high quality of service, excellent product, and strategic location.

Ah. It was very refreshing to find a place like this. Although downtown JC is becoming more unique and small business friendly, it lacks five star resturants that are spacious and can accomdate large groups. Liberty Prime is just that. Valet parking is available in the evenings which is a plus during colder months. When you walk into the restuarant, you are immediatley taken aback. The lighting, décor, accent colors and layout of the resturant were obviously well thought-out and create a very upscale-warm & sexy feel. The resturant is made up of three different areas. The bar is full-sized and has a few grand booths. The resturant seating itself is neat and tables border the perimeter of the building so most of the seats have a street view The Gallery, which is an event space that also has a full-private sits above the resturant and there is a grand staircase leading up to it, so you get that VIP feel. Despite some of the other reviews, my guests and I thought the service was excellent. We had a main server, an assissant waiter and a runner, all whom were very helpful, polite, informative and friendly. Our server suggested the special wines and dishes of the evening and made a point to highlight specific ingredients in some of the popular dishes. Our table ended up ordering the Atlantic Salmon with Quinoa, the fullrack of Baby Back Ribs with garlic mash and coleslaw, The Whole Bronzino Grilled, The Roasted Chicken and the 12oz Ribeeye with macaroni, risotto, and asparagus. The food, although expensive, was absouletley delicisous. The portions were HUGE and we had plenty to take home while leaving stuffed. The menu seems to be perfecly crafted and all of the side dishes accompany the main coures wonderfully. Everything was very flavorful, perfectly cooked and we were completly satisifed. The ribs in particular fell right off the bone, you would have thought you were eating BBQ right of the grill! The salon was also spectacular, fresh and cooked perfectly. I will definelty ebe returing. I highly reccomend this place for a hot date out or even a business lunch. You will not be left disapointed.

One lonesome star… For a steak house not to be able to cook a good steak says a lot. Only saving grace about this place is the full bar and the atmosphere. Dimly lit with plentiful seating and great décor. Parking is a bit tricky, due to the fact you have to find street parking… but big groups are definitely welcome. Salads were over dressed, steaks were not evenly cooked, salmon was sub par and dessert was nothing out of the ordinary. Would not go back, at least not for the food. Half my steak was med well the other half was med rare and bloody… huge disappointment to say the least.

First visit here. Had brunch using a living social promo. Food and service were excellent. Definitely a pleasant surprise for me. We ordered tuna tartare which is probably the best I’ve had. The NY strip steak omelette and the jumbo lump crab cake were really tasty as well(even the side roasted potatoes).

We love coming to this place. The food is very good and the atmosphere relaxing. The team really makes you feel special. Last time, Pedro was our server and really did an excellent job, he is very professional and was always available without being annoying. We’ll be back!

Aside from Edwards steak house what other steak houses are there in Jersey City? This was suppose to be it. Dined here for an anniversary dinner, party of two, and ready to wine and dine. Anniversary, check. Party of two, check. Wine, CHECK. Dine, meh –_– typical steakhouse prices minus the typical excellence of a pricey steak house. To start we had grilled octopus, good. Entrees– I had the fish, he had the steak. The fish was cooked perfectly the accompanies of the fish weren’t so great. They served a lemon rissoto – & something else along with the fish that had WAY to much lemon zest in it. It was a complete palette overtaker. His steak was seasoned well, but not the most tender he’s had or Ive had. If you advertise where you steaks come from or whatever… Please ensure the tenderness of it at least the proper temperature cooking time. After a over $ 200 bill and mediocre food I do not foresee myself dining here in the near or far future.

Absolutely amazing!!! The food is so freaking good… That now i have to reevaluate the way I cook. I eat brunch every Sunday all over NY; but none of them slightly compare to the food that I ate here! And to top it all off… The service was phenomenal! Our bartender was so amazing and attentive. He was super nice and polite. Keep an eye on us and made sure that we had everything that we needed and made amazing suggestions of food and drinks to order. Best money ever spent!!!

Liberty Prime is a very high-end restaurant great food, and good selection. The waiters there are very knowledgeable in their food and drink. I had the lamb chops which were amazing and the seafood risotto was to die for.

Underwhelming for typical steakhouse prices, just average. Not likely to return even though we live five minutes away walking. Food was fine: we had an 8 oz. filet mignon, scallops with pesto and pasta, burrata salad, and kumamoto oysters. The filet was tasty and well cooked. The scallops were okay, a bit too salty, and the plate was dominated by pasta. The burrata salad was mediocre, I’ve had much better burrata and the heirloom tomatoes didn’t seem heirloomy. Kumamoto oysters were the star: they taste like the ocean and are amazing, but nature made them that way, not Liberty Prime. Service was pleasant, but wooden with a few too many interruptions. Décor is fine, a bit stuffy for my taste, and a Christmas poinsettia lingered in the corner(it’s almost May). Drinks were fine, nothing special. Like I said, this was underwhelming and I could eat much better elsewhere also within a five minute walk!

This review is for the Gallery at Liberty Prime, their event space. I’m feel so so lucky to have had my wedding here. All the guests kept commenting on how beautiful the space is, and how great the food was. George, the owner, and Nina, our coordinator, worked with us from beginning to end, providing excellent, honest service. They even dealt with my crazy mother(who upturned the main table right before the guests were about to be seated and requested«Eternal Flame» to be played three times) so deftly that nor I or my guests noticed that anything went wrong at all. The food was excellent, the cups never went dry, and the attention to detail of the service staff was awesome. Thank you again George and Nina!!!

This is definitely a long time coming updated review. For sometime now Liberty Prime has definitely stepped up their game on all levels. Their menus have been revamped with adding more options like a raw bar, double rib steak for two, and porter house for two are just the beginning of their new updated menu. When it comes to meats, LP really knows what they are doing. Going with local butchers and adding a new chef really shows in their flavorful dishes. What’s really impressive about Liberty Prime is that they have become an establishment that offers it all. From fine dining, great bar and now The Gallery you can celebrate any occasion here. Liberty bar has a great full bar with some pretty awesome bartenders like Justin & Dave, room is filled with some tables or the option to sit at the bar. Just like their restaurant menu, the bar menu offers great dishes from apps to desserts. The steak nachos are delicious and one of my faves here and what’s a great way to accompany a great menu, that’s right a great cocktail. I’ve order tons of cocktails at this bar all great options, my favorite has become the mango martini. They always keep their season beers rotating and tons of options to pick from. Now The Gallery at Liberty Prime, I have yet to attend an event or even host one there but I’ve toured the venue and must say; it’s gorgeous! You have a few options with this venue. Upstairs they have two rooms with both windows and doors that can you give you privacy if wanted, beautifully redone floors, brick walls and gorgeous dark brown wood really gives the venue a nice sophisticated look. The second floor is equipped with a bar which makes it convenient for guest to grab drinks. The first floor is gorgeous tall ceiling room with a full mirrored wall and full bar, this space seems to be perfect for weddings, company parties, etc. You really can’t go wrong with Liberty Prime. Staff is absolutely amazing George, who is one of the owners, is always friendly and a great guy. Whenever he is around which is always, he makes sure he comes by to greet you and make sure that everything is up to part. Juan, one of the managers, is an absolutely delight and a wonderful person who really cares for customers and makes sure everyone leaves with a positive experience. Highly recommend!

I went here yesterday for brunch with my girlfriends and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, the cocktails were on point, and the service was excellent. Juan, the manager, was very attentive and accommodating, making us feel welcome. The environment was conducive for having a catch up session with my girls since it had been forever since we got a chance to hang out. The restrooms were clean. Everything was on point. I will definitely be returning!

Brunch review! Brunch with the husband was a special treat today. I had a Living Social deal that was about to expire and wanted to use it. Glad I did. We started off with drinks: a Mimosa for me, a Bloody Mary for him. He was exceptionally pleased with his, since it had a lot of bite and they were generous with the olives. Our waitress read the specials and most included shrimp or lobster, so that left me out. My husband did order the mushroom barley soup from the specials, and he thought it was nicely done. They brought mini corn muffins to the table and they were delightful, with a nice touch of lemon. Appetizer: calamari. Delicious, fresh, nicely presented. Very generous portion, more than enough for the two of us. I was not hungry after eating that. For our entrees he had Crab Benedict, I had Filet Mignon Benedict. So delicious! I didn’t touch the home fries because I’d eaten all that calamari, and the benedict was a large amount of meat and egg. I was beyond overstuffed at that point and laughed when they brought out a dessert menu. I needed to get up and walk off all that great food! Try it, you’ll like it, the place wasn’t full so you could probably walk in. I’ll have to try them for dinner sometime. Service was excellent, our server, Tricia, is to be commended.

We attended a wedding here. I have to say the cocktail hour was amazingly good. They served a crustini topped with filet mignon and horse radish. The crust and sauce complimented the entire cocktail. They also served Kobe sliders. I don’t know how many I had, but I couldn’t stop eating it. They also served crab cake which tasted like fresh and seasoned with flavor. For the main entrée I ordered the hanger steak. This is where they lost a star. The main course was very tough and lack flavor. I was so impressed with cocktails, I thought the main course would follow suit. My wife got the fish and that was good. But this is a steak house and yet they couldn’t get a steak right? They got it right with the Kobe sliders. The service is amazing. The entire staff was very attentive to our needs.

Checked this place out for restaurant week. Love the environment — it’s dark, cozy, warm, and has some very comfortable seating. When you opened up the menu, it actually lit up so you could read it, a very cool touch! Very attentive service which is always appreciated. There are two large bar areas as well with the same vibe. As it was restaurant week, we tried the restaurant week menu which we did need to ask for. I got the tuna tartare — amazing tuna on top of avocado with the right amount of salt from the capers. Excellent tuna though was a fairly small portion. I got the salmon over quinoa and veggies for my main entrée. Well cooked salmon and a good dish overall. I had a bite of my boyfriend’s hanger steak which was well cooked but a bit fatty. For restaurant week, you didn’t have a choice of desert(as it was chef’s selection), so we were served the tiramisu. Good, not great tiramisu. Will definitely be making a return trip soon!

This place was pretty cool. I made a reservation on Open Table for 2. We were seated immediately. They have LED light up menus. Fancy. The big ass chair I sat in, wasn’t all that comfortable. The wait staff was pretty awesome and very attentive. It wasn’t loud inside, so we could have a conversation without having to shout over each other. I came for restaurant week, so my choices were limited. For an app I had the tuna tartar. The tuna was incredibly fresh. It was really good. For dinner I had the grilled salmon. The salmon was slightly charred which added to the flavor. The salmon came served on top of some quinoa & veggies which were seasoned to perfection. There was beet purée all around. I must have stopped reading about the dish after salmon. Had I known beets were there I probably wouldn’t have gotten it. I hate beets. The guy had the short ribs with mash potatoes and a carrot purée. The carrot purée had cinnamon in it. So tasty. Idky I didn’t try more of his plate so I could have wrote a more thorough review of his dish. Tiramsu was for dessert. It was so good. I was incredibly full. After dinner, we walked over to the bar for a few drinks. The bar tender was nice. They have a really good pinot grigio. I’ll definitely give this place another try.

**Review for Liberty Bar** Liberty Bar is connected to Liberty Prime Steakhouse. It has a pub feel to it. My boyfriend and I came in for brunch on a Saturday at around 12:30. Except for two guys sitting by the bar, the place was completely empty. For my entrée, I got the steak sandwich(rib-eye steak, onion rings, sweet peppers, chipotle mayo, served with Parmesan garlic steak fries). The steak was pretty chewy so I would not recommend getting this. The«Parmesan garlic» steak fries just tasted like regular bland potato wedges. My boyfriend had the Liberty Prime burger(prime beef, peppered thick cut bacon, Swiss cheese, tomatoes, arugula, roasted garlic aioli). It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything special. We also ordered a loaded baked potato, which was supposed to have scrambled eggs, cheddar, scallions, and bacon — but the scallion and bacon were nowhere to be found. It tasted like they cut a potato in half, threw some scrambled eggs and cheese on it and microwaved it. I guess that’s what we get for coming to brunch at a bar. The Bloody Mary was surprisingly good and pretty cheap too at $ 4. I’m not sure how packed the bar gets during prime hours but I don’t mind checking it out. I’ll just be avoiding the food.

My husband and I like to try a new steakhouse in the city for every special event – birthday, anniversary, a Thursday when it’s not snowing and the sun is actually out(sorry I’m still pretty bitter about how the northeast winter still won’t let go when it’s officially spring). It was my time to pick a steakhouse and I’ve had my eye on Liberty Prime for a while and decided to stay local and give it a try. Really glad we did! Ambiance is beautiful. Dim lights, fresh red roses in view as soon as you enter, mahogany furniture left and right. Gorgeous. Per usual, we started off with a few appetizers. tuna tartare with avocado, grilled octopus with chorizo, chickpeas, piquillo peppers, pickled red onion, and olive oil and crispy artichokes. I was a little bit disappointed with the crispy artichokes. It was good, but I’ve had better(Supper in the city, most notably). But my husband absolutely loved it, and he doesn’t typically like artichoke. Maybe it’s because I prefer my artichoke with parmesan and this was my first time trying it with goat cheese. But I digress. The grilled octopus was super yummy. I even made a mental note to order this for lunch one day since I work right around the corner because duh, why not. My husband and I both ordered the bone-in ribeye. I ordered mine with truffle butter. My goodness… could I order this for lunch to go, too? It was SO good. Cooked perfectly, flavors were insane. I’m drooling on my laptop as I type this. One of the best ribeyes I’ve had in quite a while, and I eat plenty of ribeyes, TRUSTME. Paired with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, Château St. Jean, Sonoma CA2010… you’ve got yourself a meal. Just kidding – paired with two glasses. Service was wonderful. Waiter was totally charming and helpful and did not judge us on the amount of food we ordered. Looking forward to coming back again!
