I love shopping here. They have an amazing selection of nuts, seeds, flours and grains at really great prices. Their veggies always seem fresh plus they stock those hard to find Indian greens, roots and spices. They get extremely busy on the weekends so the best time to shop here is on weekday afternoon or evenings.

I like smaller establishments, so I like this place better than Apna Bazaar up the block. Most things are same price as Apna, and there are better parking opportunities off Newark Avenue. Only thing I prefer Apna for is nuts.

They have an OK selection, but Apna Bazar had more varieties of the same product. Prices are pretty comparable, but again you’ll be able to find better deals(as well as more premium products) at Apna Bazar since there is more variety. But each store is different and there’s always things you can find here that you can’t find elsewhere, this store included, so it’s not a bad option. $ 10 minimum for all major credit cards.

Its a good place for fresh grocery but the only problem is it the floors r pretty dirty because of the produce falling on the floor. But def recommended!

My go to place for Indian groceries! The produce here is a lot fresher than Apna Bazar and the people who work here are super nice. esp when you’re trying to pronounce something and butcher it up like me. The lines are always super short!

Pros: This is the one-stop shop for Indian grocery, Indian parathas, frozen items, indain vegetables like karela, indian egg plant, methi leaves, curry leaves, plantain, Indian spices, sweets, worship items etc. Also the prices are really cheap, not sure why it has $$ on the«Price Range» for this business. Cons: Impossible to find parking so I always took the bus to come here shop. Inside the store is also super crowded, so I try not to take the shopping cart just take a hand-cart which makes my movement fast & easy and also makes it less crowded!

Have been to over dozen indian grocery stores in new york and new jersey. Patel Cash and Carry on Newark Avenue is my least favorite. Let me put them down: — –Extremely filthy and you’ll see vegetables on the floor –Utterly unorganized –Their food carts are the most disgusting ever although they seem to be brand new –The staff doesn’t seem to know or pretend to be ignorant about everything. –I have rarely got answers to any questions I might have asked them. –They are also very uncooperative. –Their vegetables always look stale and a bit overpriced compared to other stores –Most stores have a $ 10 minimum for credit card, these guys have a $ 15 –The entrance to the store is so unappealing and there is always a mess outside I avoid this store for the reasons stated above and more.

Let me start out by saying this place is small, parking is almost impossible to find, and(on the weekends at least) it’s crowded. That being said, this grocery store is CHEAP. The veggies are decent and waaay below what you would pay at supermarkets. There is quite a bit of selection in the back for indian spices, and they stock tons of frozen and fresh naan. There is a $ 15 minimum limit when using a credit card. The inconvenience of parking and crowding keeps me from coming here for my usual groceries, but when I’m about to make Indian food from scratch, this is the place to go, and I will be sure to buy some other groceries while I’m here as well. Definitely worth checking out if you live in the area.

THE place on Newark Avenue /Little India to find what you need to whip up your Indian and Pakistani cuisine at home. It isn’t big, but you’ll find nearly everything you want for a wide variety of stuff to cook and prepare.
