this restaurant has been closed since port lib was hammered by hurricane sandy. Unilocal, yer **lame** for not building an easy way to identify, or better yet delete, closed establishments.

Nice views, food is a bit overpriced. If you live in Greenville this is a hop skip and a jump from the Richard street light rail. It would be more ideal if they offered drink specials.

Yes the view is nice that’s what I wanted and I guess I got it. Too hot to eat outdoors but was seated next to window Small restaurant. Nothing fancy as far as décor. Service was slow. There was a large table that night and seemed like very few waiters working Food: my bf got clams and a few were bad. They smelled horrible and he had to immediately spit it out. I had the chicken dish and it was nothing special. Actually wasn’t even tHat good. I just ate it cause I was hungry On a positive note… The penne there is delicious Probably not coming back. Seems we went on an off night but so many other options in JC

I have been coming to the Pointe for years and the food and the service never disappoint. And you can’t get a better view with parking anywhere in JC.

My husband and I have been here several times and enjoyed it more and more with each visit. Laid back, great food and great service.

Very average seafood for a very high price. Great view however. Would not go back.

At 6:30 we were well into our first course of romaine salads with avocados, Cucumbers, apples, blue cheese and a champaign vinaigrette when I saw the waiter bring the dessert tray to our neighboring table. It looked divine. At 7:30 we were still waiting for our main courses. The rib eye steak with mushrooms and gorgonzola was done a perfect rare albeit huge. The pasta special of one of my companions of fusilli with shrimp and andoluse sausage in cream was tasty as was the fettucini with clams and sausage. The view was spectacular. Ours was the second table sat by the window at 6:00 pm. So we got the pleasure of watching the sun reflect off the almost complete«Freedom Tower» and the sky go from blue to pink to almost black. As the lights started to twinkle in the«freedom tower» like the stars that would soon be in the sky and our waiter was m.i.a. we decided that no dessert was worth the time that it had already taken just to get the check. We left at 8:30 and had pie at home. Two and a half hours for salad and a special is too long. The bus boys are great and very attentive. I suggest promoting any one of them to waiter. As for our waiter???

After I went on my date tonight, I have a few points to make. This resto is right on the water and the views of manhattan, the statue of liberty and the brooklyn bridge makes it an ideal romantic spot to take a fine young lady. Sitting by the huge windows, soaking in the sights… well, its sooooo money. This resto is in the port liberte area of JC and there are NOT a lot of tourists around… actually, it seems as if only local residents hit up this spot. I love locals-only types of restos/bars. The redic delish seafood crepes, the savory as well as the largest prince edward mussels I have ever had, the juicy lamb shanks and the large rare tuna steak… oh so perfect. If you don’t dine here in the near future, then you missed my points.

It’s a decent place for dinner, but the food is not as impressive. The bread for appetizer is probably the worst bread I ever had. Alcohol — must try their special martinis, both of them on the menu are so good: D Appetizer — Seafood salad is pretty good though, lots of squid + jumbo shrimp + Scallop. The shrimp bisque is very salty though. Main Course — I had scallop with saffron couscous. No surprise on the scallop, but the couscous is very good. My girlfriend had a order of rib eye steak. The steak is literally huge and we have to take out half of it even we shared. I will suggest you to ask for medium though since it’s being cooked well-done when I asked for medium-well. Service — they don’t seem to have a fixed servant for each table(we need to raise our hand to get attention, also apparently they need to hire more servants to help out). The kitchen is slow too, we waited ~40−50 mins for our main course after the appetizer. The good thing is that we had fun with the firework(we don’t even know why they are having firework on Hudson river that night, but it was so cool). Price is alright for a decent environment for dinner(+tips ~$ 120 for 2 of us). But in terms of services + food, i will just give 3 stars for this restaurant.

Very good meal-great ambiance! Started with the Pointe Martinis! These were out of this world. We enjoyed the shrimp and avocado salad. Our entrees were very good as well. I had the ny strip and my gf had the maple glazed salmon. The presentation and taste were both very good! There is outside seating which we love! Our server was very friendly and very attentive. Definitely will return again!

Went here on a weekday for lunch on an absolutely beautiful day… it was a mini vacation. So quiet and serene overlooking the water, the statue of liberty in the distance and the New York skyline. Our waiter was very attentive and let us enjoy our lunch experience. I ordered the chicken sandwich served on ciabatta bread with tomato, red onion, and avacado but what made the sandwich was a light lime mayonaise spread… delicious…great sweet potato fries too. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone and I will be visiting for dinner as I am sure the night lights from NY would be lovely.

Where to begin? The food is excellent: Italian inspired, but not«Italian»; American cuisine to please anyone. The ambiance is really friendly, local, higher class folks, but not pretentious; you’ll fit in fine in a three piece suit or H&M jeans. The view is unbelievable, but no one really cares about it. Wine menu pairs well; wait staff is attentive; bar is good. Outdoor seating and free parking. If you live in Jersey City, then check it out at least once. You won’t bother when you live in the ‘burbs in some years.

I LOVE… THISPLACE. Since our families are separated by the Hudson River,(some in NJ, some in Long Island) this our perfect meeting place. I grew up in Jersey City, and at the time, it never looked like this. Waterfront views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, both skylines of downtown Jersey City and Battery area in NY. And the food, as good as it gets. Real culinary delights, esp the Calamari… oh so good. Can’t wait to go again this Saturday. Yay…

The pointe puts it’s point across as a beautiful river side location and that’s about it. I have had much better seafood elsewhere.

The Pointe: This restaurant is small and intimate; a great place to bring a date. If you sit by the windows, you are right over the water. Amazing views of NYC! I personally recommend starting with seafood appetizers followed by the Linguini. Afterwards you can take a ferry into Manhattan for a good night out of town. This is a very well hidden place amongst the sought after Port Liberte Lofts. However, if you find it, cheers! Send me a message, let me know what you think.

This restaurant is in SoHo(South Hoboken). Actually it’s jersey city and if your being a stickler, It’s port liberte. The only way you would find The Point at the end of chapel ave is if : a) you know someone living in port lib b) your looking for the statue of liberty ferry and your lost c) you appreciate the scenery of a restaurant as much as the food So, you live in manhattan and you don’t have a car… so what. Take the $ 7 ferry out of Pier 11 and it will drop you off at the doorstep of the Pointe in twenty minutes, not mention it will take you right up in Lady Liberty’s grill. Ask the average new yorker how many times they’ve been to ellis island and 9 times out of ten the answer is when I was in the third grade. Oh by the way, the food rocks. Try the fried calamari with balsamic vinagrette. The Prince Edward mussels are fit for a king. Oh, and the sea scallops… oh lord the sea scallops.
