Food was good ton of fries but man did the service suck. Sorry I genuinely hate being one of these people but this was rough.

Strong humongous drinks 12 $ each (they use very cheap LQ strong though, nothing top shelf) this is a once a year type thing. This place is a straight hole in the wall it’s usually smells like cigarettes and toilet bowl water. It’s up the block from my apartment so I usually go in sweat pants and bring my dog when I pick up my usual a (chicken wings and fries or garlic porkchops and rice) both amazingly yummy! Saturday & Friday night crowds are really rowdy, a lot of sweaty men and the bouncers are pervy. The food is great though and I usually get takeout during the day when the coast is clear. Overall, food is great but atmosphere sucks.

The drinks here are amazing! Nothing more to say here. The parking lot is very small also. I still enjoyed myself. Go with great friends.

Not everyone’s cup of tea but I love this place. The drinks are strong and very large. You really get your money’s worth. It’s perfect for a cheap night out with friends. the wings and fries are delicious, they are perfect for sharing. There is additional parking around the corner. You can eat and drink for about 20 bucks. Not bad for a person on a budget.

ringside is a staple in Jersey City. with affordable drinks, my favorite is the «Anti-​Freeze, it’s delicious! Ask for a drink menu! Tonight I had the salmon, mixed veggies and rice cooked to perfection. The people have been friendly and the owner is always around with a smile on your face. I will definitely continue to frequent this place so say «Hi» if you see me.

This is one of my favorite restaurants period… its not for everyone as far as the ambiance or crowd, but the food is comfort food at its finest. I could eat ringside food everyday!!! My favorite is the Chicken Steak in Garlic Sauce… the Portugese Steak is awesome as well but i tend to stick to the chicken most of the time… the flavors are so powerful and my mouth waters just thinking about it… yes it is a dive bar but most locals know that the place is a hidden gem for amazing food… might have to go there right after i finish typing this review :)

BANGING! Garlic shrimp with yellow rice and ribs on the side is the best. The ice tea cup containers get you really hooked on. nice refreshing drinks to get crunked!

I would give this place 5 stars, but it’s a dive bar with a not so friendly environment at night. The food is great and the drinks are worth it. I always get the screw special or the skirt steak. The game is always on and they are pretty big on soccer.

Quaint place in jersey city. Definitely has a dive bar type of feel to it. The drinks are moderately priced but you absolutely get your money’s worth. Didn’t really get to see a food money because I came late but was still able to order wings and fries. Food was fresh even though they were about to close. Nice place to stop by and have a quick drink and some food.

The FOOD IS AMAZINGLY! There LIT will have you on your ass haha. Great place to go grab some food and get a drink.

This place is amazing and I definitely will be going back. My drinks were on point and my food was great. I highly reccommend the garlic shrimp. The hot wings were pretty good as well. The place was packed and they may want to look into getting more chairs and tables, however you will definitely get your money’s worth here. Great hangout spot!

This place has so much potential. The drinks are amazing. The food is amazing. However the location not so much.
But that wouldn’t keep me from coming back at all. I had the best amaretto sour in a 32 oz container for only $ 11!!! Try getting that at a club. Or even another place!!! It would never happen. I couldn’t believe my eyes when the elderly bartender was making my drink. He wasn’t shy about it at all!!!
I also had food. I shared chicken wings with French fries with my friend. And it was more than enough to share!!! The wings were great.
I wanna go back and try the rest of the menu. However I wouldn’t bother getting dressed up at all. The crowd that comes here is a bit sketchy and I’m a pretty girl I wouldn’t go alone. I went around 2 pm…

I order the «Akon Special» which is shrimp in garlic sauce with rice and broccoli
I was very disappointed because the shrimps were not devained a big no no for me. I asked the waiter and his answer was we do not devain for the small shrimp only the big shrimp SMH!!! Are you serious what kind of answer was that. My friend had the chicken in mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes it was also horrible the mushroom sauce taste like straight up vinegar and the mash taste like pure salt yuk just disgusting Never again next time go to Algave in Elizabeth NJ. I will only go there for the drinks

1 Star for me, as I’m not 21 years old anymore — I’m sure it’s 5 Stars for the younger and more adventurous. Ventured inside once — not sure what I was thinking, an early Friday afternoon and it was on the way home and I was thirsty for a beer. The place was dark — took me a couple of minutes to get oriented, and I knew it was gonna be a dive, but this was the very definition. I ordered a Guinness to save face as my first instinct was to turn around and get back into my car and on the road. Finished my beer and hightailed it outta there.

I’m only giving 3 stars because of the atmosphere when it starts to get late. However the food is DELICIOUS, and the drinks are really cheap. Great spot to stop at on your way home from work grab some dinner and have a few cold ones. The only thing I recommend is leaving before the freaks come out (Haha). It is jersey city and it gets a little rough around the edges after 8pm.

《Screw Special》garlic chicken with choice of 2 sides. Delish. I went there @ lunch time but if you go in the evening it’s a young crowd… lil fiesty sometimes but you can get your drink in a ‘bucket’ and they are really good. I don’t drink anymore but when I did that was where to go.

I’m surprised this place has received such little attention.
It’s not your typical hangout, its just about the most seedy, bad ass bar you could ever hope to see. Unless you are in the projects or something, nothing really compares. This can be considered both good and bad — the good being that it makes for a completely different atmosphere from almost any other place you’ve been to — the bad being the realistic threat of violence, shooting, mugging, etc. People have been killed here.
When i say this, it is without any hint of exaggeration. The owner, a nice guy named Mario, keeps hired security both outside and inside the place, a cop car can be seen parked right next to the front door. Some people that visit this place tend to be ‘packing’, and for reasons that don’t really need to be spelled out. This is one of the hottest spots in Jersey City. Just mind your own business while you’re in.
Now for the reasons why this place is cool: 1. Mike Tyson visited this place a million times. Rumour has it that he reared pigeons on the rooftop. Plenty of pictures of him adorning the wall alongside the owners and fans. You get to see plenty of Mike’s ‘Black’ Energy drinks lying around…2. Cool boxing memorabilia. If you’re interested in the sport, you wil get a chance to see some pics that you might not have seen anywhere else. Rare stuff. 3. The drinks. They serve drinks in those 32 oz round deli soup containers. The bartender sticks a knife through the lid and drops a straw into it. Crude, but hey… that’s ringside. 4. The food. Seriously underrated. Great seafood options.
Interesting place if you wanna try something different.

The intersection of US 1 – 9 and Manhattan Ave in Jersey City houses 2 of the most «Jersey City» establishments that you can get. On the northeast corner, you have White Mana, a 24 hour diner frequented by pimps, pros, cops, and drunk people galore (I actually once witnessed a guy pass out while standing up in front of the door).
On the northwest corner is Ringside Lounge, a bar that is divey even by dive bar standards, and that has a reputation as a place to avoid (a reputation seemingly reinforced by various instances of crime in years past). It’s for this reason that I’ve steered away from this place for the longest time. Still, curiosity got the best of a buddy and I recently, and we decided to pop on in to see what all the fuss was about.
Now, we had just gotten back from an early night in Hoboken (it was only about 1am or so). We were dressed in typical work clothes (slacks, collared shirts, dress shoes), which allowed us to blend right in with the Hoboken crowd, but caused us to stick out at Ringside, where the only rules appeared to be «don’t hurt nobody» (fitted caps, Timbs, sports jerseys were all OK here).
Pounded a couple of cheap beers and minded our own business, and people didn’t seem to give us a second look. On ordering our second round, we opted for a mixed drink (rum and coke I think), which was generously served in one of the plastic containers that Chinese fast food places serve their soup. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Yeah! Real N!%^& IN RINGSIDE … ALL day! Just me. By myself. On the block. Holdin it down. Gun in my waist. Straight face. All day. Not a game. In jail. By myself. 1 bed. No pillow case. 1 pillow. Didn’t nobody write me. It was early. Woke up. Went back to sleep. Took a nap. You ever go night night n!@#.? This is how Kevin hart would sum it up.
It is Part boxing ring, Part Thug, Part WTF. Came here for the famous 32 oz drinks pretty much ‘sizzurp.’ I hear the rapper Akon would box here. Drinking my sizzurp lemonade concoction was $ 11 bucks very strong. Dudes sitting here were eating, with a spoon, but it looks like he was using a shovel. The other guy behind me playing pool all by himself. Yet his facial expression looking silly, Never underestimate him. He had the «mean mug.» Parking here is horrible hopefully one of these Mack trucks, do not take you out before the patrons do.
Excitement hit me, I had my electronic cigarette. I wanted to use in the bar. Unknownst to me everyone was lighting up: regular cigarettes, black & mild’s; it wasn’t just one person or just cigs
Fellas definitely you can find nice wholesome girl, bring her home to mom, but I am sure she is part of the oldest profession.
