Great service and nice pressed sport coats and slacks. Owner is so kind and caring. I have a dry cleaner down the street but I’d rather make the extra 15 minute walk here. Best in Jersey City.

My go to dry cleaners in JC. One of the original dry cleaners in JC that actually does the work on site rather than out sourcing the work. They’ve been in business for over 25 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. George is great and anytime we have an emergency he’s always willing to help. Support local businesses!!!

George is the best I have used several different dry cleaners in jersey city and SAINTJOHNSISBYFARTHEABSOLUTEBEST PROFESSIONAL FRIENDLY QUALITYWORK GREATPRICES This is how local businesses need to operate. They know your name and take care of their customers. George is a neighborhood institution. An icon and a symbol of all things good. Going to the dry cleaners isn’t chore its dropping by to say hello to a friend.

This I’ll say, the staff is extremely friendly. Aside from that, the actual service is horrendous. Do not take your clothes there. I’ve dropped off suits, a very expensive light colored wool coat and multiple pants and ties. Judging by the reviews, I thought they would be taken care of… I was wrong. The wool coat came back with obvious burn marks, my pants had spots that never existed when I dropped them off and few of my silk ties were completely ruined. My suit jacket was not ironed properly and had few strings coming out of it now. This was probably the worst dry cleaning service I’ve ever seen. In conclusion: I do not advise anyone to take their clothes there.

This is my go-to place for dry cleaning and laundering my husband’s shirts. I live in the heights, about 1.5 miles from St. John’s but don’t mind driving there weekly to get my laundry done. George is such a great guy and I feel so welcome every time I come into his shop. The service is great — they keep us happy with the turnaround time and the 2 times my husband’s shirts lost buttons after they had been laundered, they sewed the buttons without question and without any fees. As long as I live in Jersey City, St. John’s will have my business.

My neighborhood cleaner, located just around the block; super convenient location. I had called in to see how much a coat cleaning would run me and was told $ 5 by one of the employees(not George the owner). I said to myself, that ‘s suspiciously cheap. I went ahead and dropped it off on a Fri. & was told to pick it up on Mon. When I went for the pickup, George was there and told me it was $ 12. I told him that him employee told me it was $ 5 and he said: «I tell you what, just give me $ 10» Great guy, good service– can’t really ask for more.

St. John’s is the go-to dry cleaners in the JSQ area. They’ll always do a nice job with your clothes at a reasonable price and quick turnaround. Not only is George the owner a nice guy, but he’s a Jersey City institution. He has great stories and memories to share — you’ll never see him in a bad mood. Rumor has it he was a professional soccer player back in the day!

Having moved not too long ago to Journal Square – and not being that saavy when it comes to dry cleaning to begin with – I was leery of using a place nearby for dry cleaning. After reading the reviews here though, I decided to to try them out anyway. As others have noted, St. John’s is owned by a nice old man named George who has been in the business for a very long time. He’s a very nice guy, and let me in early even though the store technically wasn’t open yet. Although it was ready technically a day after when I wanted it, they did a great job with the blaser I gave them. I also recall the price being very fair. I was in and out both visits in like than 2 minutes with no wait. The only gripe I have is that I wish they had longer hours, as I get home past 8 most nights. Regardless, St. John’s as a reliable dry cleaning option in this area, and I will continue to use them.

I am not one to get my clothes dry cleaned often, but when I do, I look no further than this neighborhood dry cleaner. The owner is very hospitable and has been in business for a few decades. There was one time I stopped by, and he had stories of the JSQ/City Hall area during a different era. It’s a bonus to hear such stories about my adopted hometown.

George has been in business for over 30 years. He picks up and delivers. Why would you take your clothes anywhere else?

This is great and convenient, right next to Journal Square. I take my shirts and drop them off before work and pick them up a few days later after work, and that’s it. What else do you need? The owner is great too. I agree with the previous poster, there was no reason to point out the ethnicity of these workers, they did great. I think Danny is impatient.

I walked in here today because this place is relatively near me. Stay clear of this place. I was bringing in a shirt to get tailored and a a pair of pants to get dry cleaned. The black guy behind the counter was rude and obnoxious. I told him I needed my shirt tailored and my pair of pants dry cleaned. He told me my shirt was dirty and I said I know its dirty because I just wore it today but I want it tailored. He said«don’t talk to me, talk to the tailor». The«tailor» was a hispanic man working the sewing machine and he couldn’t understand what I wanted. I wanted the sleeves on one of my dress shirts shortened two inches. He said $ 10 which was a little steep but I figure I’ll get it done there anyways. I asked if they use darts or remove fabric from the shirt. He responded remove fabric so I responded«okay, let’s do it». The tailor walks back to his sewing machine and the guy behind the counter writes me up a receipt for the pants and then I stand there for about 2 minutes. Then I finally ask«are you gonna give a receipt for the shirt?» and he goes«you want it done?!». At this point I’m just pissed off and annoyed so I picked up my shirt and said I’ll get it done somewhere else. My biggest regret is not getting my pants back so I have to return next week. Hopefully the same guy isn’t working the counter because his whole attitude of «I don’t give a shit, leave me alone» annoys the hell out of
